Loved the food, considering the times we are in. Glad I chose DJ bbq for my meal this afternoon.

I have no idea how this place is getting over looked on Yelp. They are a staple in the community. It is my go to BBQ place. It's true Texas style BBQ. Their food is consistent and I appreciate that. I know when I choose to eat here that I am going to get the same stuff I was raised on. Don't overlook the potato salad. I actually didn't got bad service. I have read the other reviews and can say that yes there have been times that I was rushed. But the last few times I have gone I have received good service. So maybe they are working on it.

I loved DJs. They had great bbq. Today we ate here after several years. I was looking forward to their ribs, which were always my fav. But today's food was such a let down. The ribs tasted like they had been in the oven at some point and they were dry. The sausage was ehh.... the brisket was OK but kept falling apart. The green beans had way too much garlic.. some of my beans were still hard and needed more seasoning. The only thing that tasted the same was the bbq sauce. .. maybe that's purchased? Anyway... this is not the place I used to frequent about 10 yrs ago...

Excellent pork ribs. The sauce was as delicious and the potato salad was also delicious but very different- highly recommend. The ambiance was cute. The service was friendly.

Just not good, Got a little chicken, chopped beef, ribs and sausage and potato salad. The chicken had little taste, the sausage was weak as well, the ribs were the same just not tasty and the potato salad was mush . Costly and just not worth it. They just don't seem to care .

This is the best BBQ in the area! Everything is delicious. The brisket is perfect and the potato salad is to die for. Friendly staff and the owners are the best... I highly recommend DJ's to anyone, and I am a bbq connoisseur. Check them out and enjoy the great BBQ (I'm not getting paid, however I could be bought by the banana pudding)

DJ's BBQ is awesome. I highly recommend it if you are looking for good, local BBQ. I was traveling in the area for work and looked up BBQ places and found DJ's. I am glad I did. For some perspective, I am from Memphis and while we are certainly proud of our BBQ, I really enjoy Texas BBQ. I had the 2 meat plate (brisket and jalapeño sausage) that came with two sides (potato salad and baked beans). The brisket was great and the sausage was amazing. I talked to the owner a while about bbq and football and enjoyed my experience. Would definitely go back.

Went a few days ago. Got brisket, turkey, potato salad, beans and their 2 desserts all to go. The brisket was as good as any I have ever had. everything was really good. But as staples, their brisket and potato salad are awesome. Their oreo pudding dessert is my grand daughters favorite dessert and my wife loves their banana pudding. But the brisket is what will bring me back. I am a local btw.

Wow! Some places fall very far from the glorious memories you have of a by-gone taste and quality. While I agree that these won't be the friendliest bunch of staff. Almost as if you'd be doing them a favor by "not" dropping by for dinner.Anyway, we wanted BBQ and of course the "can-you-wait-for-Killen's" ain't an option today. I know of a place, where I once lived, that sold some of the most tastiest ribs and brisket with unbelievably low prices, just a short 50 minute drive south.While the place is clean, the staff ALL have a haunted look on their faces. Still, they build your order to suit. I had a 3 meat plate and the Mrs had a two and we ordered 1lb of Ribs and 1/2 pound of brisket to go. MISTAKE!Some people measure good ribs by the tenderness and a gentle pull from the bone. I measure them by putting them end-to-end to see if they came off the same rack! NOPE. on the cut side edges, they were grayish as if they'd been slice before hand and set out in the steamer. The brisket was cut to order, but again at this time of day, 3pm Saturday) this piece taste dry and is sure a leftover from earlier in the day.My memories of early 1990's BBQ from this once-hidden gem, have tarnished. I guess you can't go back home. I used to have BBQ catered from here but I guess it's time to let them go.Close the doors why don't you and no longer disquise yourselves as a place that "loves to cook" good BBQ.
