I dressed up and came to Jazz Alley to celebrate my birthday with my husband. The dress code is casual but dressy-casual attire is perfect. The ticket price does not include the cost of dinner, You will need proof of the show ticket when you're entering. Typical showtime: Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday at 7:30 pm and Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and 9:30 p.m. FREE PARKING : The Westin Building Garage at 2010 5th Avenue & Amazon's Doppler Garage on 6th between Virginia and Lenora. We had reserved the second table from the front in the middle of the stage #83. It's moving to be able to see the performers on stage up close. I recommend that you arrive with plenty of time. The service staff is efficient and provides very good service. Our dinner choices are Seafood Brochette and Chicken Piccata. After dessert for Jazz Alley Key lime pie. It was a very good!!! Next time I will come here with my friend!

Tonight I went with a good friend to Dimitrios jazz Alley. What a wonderful evening everything is set up for you to enjoy your evening to your Reservation to getting you into the door and settled in to ordering your dinner watching your show. The management in this place has this down to a T. I didn't get a chance to really look at the menu, however, I had heard that they had really good prime rib. I ran to the restroom real quick and came back and the waitress was already at our table. I had already planned on having the prime rib so no need to look at the menu. My friend and I both ordered the prime rib.The waitress brought us our drinks right away, and within about 15 minutes our dinner had arrived. It was very quick the meat was perfect. It came with broccolini carrots, tomatoes, and potatoes on the side. There was some creamy horseradish. The meal was awesome.I will say the server came by multiple times we never had to want for anything. Appearing tonight were the Stylistics. These gentlemen have been in the show since 1968, but you would never know it by how they looked two of the gentleman or 75 years young and you would've never known it by looking at them. They kept the energy level in the room very high, and the music was awesome.I have more or less lived in the Seattle area most of my life. Many times I've heard about this place, but never had a chance to go. I wish I would've known how wonderful it was before tonight.I will definitely be taking my husband here at some point. The ambience of the room is very nice, gentle on the eyes and a great date spot. Not just for the 50+ crowd but for anybody who enjoys music.

Such a fun date night for me and the hubby. We've had this on our list of places to checkout as a couple. The space and atmosphere and experience did not disappoint! We can't wait to go back and enjoy dinner too. We lucked out and snagged the last bar seat. We enjoyed listening to The Spinners, that night they were inducted into the rock hall of fame! How cool!!Cheers

Great music, reserved seating, and good food and drink before and during the performance. The service is good -- efficient but fairly unobtrusive. The only other comparable venue (with different taste in music) is The Triple Door. We've been going for years - ranging from seeing Pinetop Perkins more than a decade ago, to seeing Taj Mahal this week. Some of the tables are right against the stage, and booths not far from it. If you are able to reserve a reasonable table or booth, you get wonderful proximity to the performers along with a good meal. (FYI, I don't recommend seats in the bar area, as the view is somewhat obscured). We started with drinks - a good sauvignon blanc (Alexander Valley as I recall?), and a gin martini done well.We had a beef tenderloin salad (delicious, with tender filet cooked just right), a Dungeness crab Louie salad with prawns, a fried calamari appetizer, and cheesecake. All were good. When you make a reservation, you pay in advance for the seats / performance, and then the food and drink is à la carte when you are there. Free parking is also included at two locations immediately close by, which makes things easy.

Spyro Gyro was fantastic tonight! The service and chicken piccata was cooked to perfection. The carrots and asparagus were great too. Pinot Grigio was crisp too. I will return tomorrow too.

I took my partner to Jazz Alley for his 50th birthday and we had an enjoyable time! The pictures online don't do the establishment any justice, it is beautiful. The food and service was excellent, and most importantly the sound system was impeccable. If we were not from out of state, we would have found another show to go to, the experience was that great! We'll definitely return for another show the next time we visit.

I've never NOT enjoyed myself at Jazz Alley! The sound is excellent, the sightlines are mostly between fabulous and pretty good, and so is the food! It's a small but mighty menu, with prime rib for the early folks and an excellent assortment for the rest of us :-)A special shout out to the office staff - they are friendlier than many people's closest friends, always helpful and they make the Alley a joy to be around!I only wish I had become a semi-regular years ago!

This is such a super fun and unique experience in Seattle! Booking tickets online was a breeze and prices were reasonable. Our ticket included the dinner package and we were able to pick our own table. We opted for the first floor right next to the stage. Finding the venue was easy and we were dropped off at the front. Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted by the hostesses and we were taken to our tables. They had a coat check in area as well which we did not use. Our server was friendly and attentive. She quickly brought our bread and drinks and the food was good and plentiful. My plate consisted of chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The show was entertaining, fun, and the musicians did a great job keeping us all engaged.. Definitely a must do / see when in the city!

Jazz Alley is our favorite place to hear jazz and blues in Seattle. We come for a show at least once a month!I rate Jazz Alley five stars because its whole is greater than the sum of its parts. However, it's important to be aware of some things upfront before you go.One of the best parts of Jazz Alley that the variety of different musicians you can see here is amazing -- and there is nearly a show playing every single night. We've seen big names like Kenny G, to local musicians like Marc Seales (who is a professor at the University of Washington), to more national musicians who don't have the recognize they deserve like Curtis Salgado (guy who introduced John Belushi to the blues), and everyone in between. We have never had a bad show at Jazz Alley. Most times we come without knowing anything about the artist beforehand, and have come to trust that we are not going to come home disappointed. The shows are of predictable length. We always good to 7:30 pm shows, and they typically end around 9 pm, and never past 9:15 or 9:30. We're personally not fans of shows that keep going and going and going ... we're hear to have a good and go home, not to attend an all-night rave. All seats are reserved -- there is no general seating. We prefer this. Buy your tickets as far in advance as you can to get the best seats. The seats you'll be offered on the web site depends on the number of people in your party -- a party of two cannot take a book designed for four, for instance. The food is good. It's nothing you are going to write home about, and if you weren't coming here for a show, you wouldn't come here for the food. It's banquet/wedding-style food. And the menu doesn't change much -- there will be little modifications once or twice a year, but basically it's the same menu all the time. They do have one vegan option, a mushroom risotto with vegan cheese, which is surprisingly pleasant, and greatly appreciated. For those who don't drink, there is a non-alcoholic beer and one mocktail (which frankly is never that good). The sound can be inconsistent at times -- it's not like the Triple Door (which can be a s**t-show sometimes), but still surprising how often there are sound issues, albeit somewhat minor. Microphone feedback is something that seems to happen at every show, although the sound engineers are pretty good at nipping it in the bud when it happens.Sound mixing can be off sometimes, though. We have been to a couple of shows where instruments are being mixed at too low of a volume compared to the other instruments. In one case, there was a bass solo and it just was really inaudible, which was a shame. And we've been to a number of shows where the musicians are looking over in the direction of the sound booth and making gestures to get their attention to raise the volume of their instruments. There are two other things to be aware of. First, while Jazz Alley says that there isn't a bad seat in the house, I would go the other way -- there are few really, really good seats in the house. Even the seats closer up that you would expect to be good have issues. The counter-style seats don't have enough space, which can make for an uncomfortable experience, and the tops of the plexiglass dividers can be in your direct line of sight and detract from your ability to clearly see. The dividers, frankly, really need to be removed. The best seats are up close and in the front, but not the two-top tables directly in front of the stage. You want the seats behind those if you're seated as a couple, or the closest booth seats if you're a group of four.Part of the problem is that the space itself is a large rectangle, with the stage at the center of one of the long sides of the rectangle. So you can be way off to the left or the right of the stage depending on your seat. The other thing to be aware of is that service can be wildly inconsistent. We have had some shows where the servers were the best we've had at any restaurant -- attentive, coming around to check if we want more drinks, etc. But we've had other shows that are among the worst we've had at any establishment. Most recently, it took more than 25 minutes after we sat before the server even came by -- and that was after I flagged down another server to ask what was going on. The crowds tend to skew older -- we're in our 50s, and the crowds tend to go from 40s to 60s if not 70s, with the median age I would guess in the mid-60s. We're Seattle-ites who live downtown, and if I had to guess, I would say most people who come are from the suburbs. During tourist season I think there are quite a few tourists as well.Overall, though, this is still our favorite place to see jazz and blues in Seattle, which is why I give it five stars.

I wrote a review about Dimitriou's Jazz Alley about a month ago, since then, I have revisited that cool jazz venue and I'd like to update my review. My previous review was based on my previous visits, the last was about five years ago.I recently saw Spyro Gyra's, 50th reunion celebration at Dimitriou's. It was my first time seeing them and they were great! The seating arrangement closest to the stage has changed since I saw Stanley Clarke, at Dimitriou's, about five years ago. My most recent visit, approaching almost a month ago, the seating arrangement has changed. It's not as crowded as it once was. I inquired about that with the bar-tender, she stated it was because of the distance requirements due to the 'virus'. It's much more roomier now! I discovered on my last visit that the seats directly behind the bar are the best seats (my opinion). You have a straight forward view of the stage and it's slightly elevated, so you're able to see clearly over everyone's head. The seats are a little, let's say, intimidating if your fanny doesn't have much cushion lol. One of the benefits of seating directly behind the bar is you have direct and immediate access to the bar-tender to order drinks or dinner. Speaking of drinks, if anyone doesn't drink alcohol, you may want to try their alcohol free spritzer, I found it to be refreshing and very tasty. There's no pressure to buy anything to eat or drink, of course you'll be asked, but no pressure, after all, you paid the cost to see the show, there are no other requirements to buy anything.I look forward to my next visit to Seattle and of course, Dimitriou's Jazz Alley!
