We had a 6:15 reservation tonight for six people. We were told that we could sit at a high top or wait 20 minutes. We decided to wait. They seated a party of three at a table for 4 next to an empty table for 2. We inquired why they didn't seat them in the empty booth for 4 and give us the table. The hostess was rude and said we are busy its xmas eve. Finally after 35 minutes we were seated in the front room that is like a porch. We had a wonderful waitress. I tipped 25%. We understood they were busy but there was turnover and others were being seated promptly. The best part was I received a note from open table that we were reported as a no show!!! I have my receipt on my phone. You scan and pay. A couple of weeks ago I went to pickup a carryout during the week at 5:15. The hostess insisted they didn't have an order for me. I told her what we ordered and she finally handed me the bag that had my name correctly and was sitting there waiting for me.,I expect an apology for reporting us as a no show! You couldn't miss us. 4 adults and two children.

Upon entering, our party of two felt unwelcome, as the staff gave us uncomfortable looks and didn't address us directly until after some whispering amongst themselves. We were eventually seated, but our waitress seemed overwhelmed/interacted with us minimally for the rest of the evening.I understand they may have been short-staffed, as we arrived about two hours before closing, and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. On a positive note, our food was served promptly and presented nicely. Unfortunately, the odd atmosphere and lack of warmth from the staff left a negative impression. We wouldn't choose to return any time soon.

This is the second time i've been hereThis time I got carry out. I got the Mongolian beef and the carrot cake to go.The Mongolian beef was pretty tasty and they did honor my customizations, which included low salt low sauce, no MSG low cornstarch and add vegetables. However, as you can see in the picture, the portion size is extremely small. The contents barely fit half the takeout container.I also got the carrot cake which was recommended because it was not as sweet as the chocolate cake or the passion fruit. However, upon tasting it, the carrot cake was still very sweet. It was not over the top sweet so it not intolerable. However I would not get this again.Service was okay as the girl who answered the phone was patient with me in terms of all the customizations that I wanted. She said it would be a 30 minute wait and when I got to the restaurant, I waited an additional 20 minutes. Apparently, there was a problem with the payment method. Ambiance was loud and lively on a weekday evening.

We were visiting for the holidays (we use to live close by) and we decided to stop in for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with the new(er?) menu (since the last time we were in). I would always include the Shishito Peppers in your order (we forgot how much we loved these). The Sushi was very good as well.

Had an egg rolls and several appetizers on the menu .. food wss very good kind of sampled everything. My main course meal was a double shrimp order. Our service was at the bar with Heather. She was great very personable and made my lemon drop.. the perfect ambience was a casual, but Asian modern flare I will be going back.

It was raining heavily, so I wasn't interested in traveling far for food. Zao Jun was on my path home, and since I already had this place bookmarked, it was a simple decision. The restaurant was nearly empty for lunch; only 2 other tables were occupied when I walked in. I can understand that: the aforementioned weather and the fact that it was game day. The restaurant is enormous, even by suburban standards. There are at least four separate spaces that I could see, counting the outdoor space when the weather is more accommodating. I loved the aesthetics: lime green walls and matching chairs with cream-colored accents, cool wall decor, and massive industrial chandeliers.I went a couple of dim sum dishes because it was the weekend, and weekends are made for dim sum.I selected the pork potsticker, shrimp shumai, short-rib bao bun, and rainbow roll, no salmon. The app servings are large! The pork dumpling was a bit dense, but I appreciated the ginger flavors and delicate dumpling wrapper. The shrimp shumai was stuffed with shrimp, punctuated by tiny mushroom pieces. Yum! I also liked the short-rib baos. Think thinly sliced beef paired with fluffy bao buns (shaped like taco shells) and topped with a spicy sauce. The apps were great, but the rainbow roll was smaller than expected and rather bland-tasting. I was so disappointed.Service was okay.

This is where we go for date night. It's in a strip mall but feels upscale and a food place to dress up. Food is great and so are specialty cocktails. Service is always good. Reservations is a must.

The dining room was much larger than would be assumed from the outside and the vibes were good. The service wasn't bad although it was a little slower than you'd think considering the number of customers at the time. The food was pretty good! The apps were great, my fav were the chicken lettuce wraps. My cocktail, an Asian 75, wasn't worth it. My almond chicken was crispy and tasty, the fried rice was flavorful and airy. The deserts were very good, with the carrot cake having good flavor.Overall We were pleasantly surprised by Zao Jun! It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

It was a Sunday night and our group of 18 was on the hunt for Chinese food... It had been a long day and we had planned on ordering in but the day got away from us and it was already after 8pm when we realized we had not planned for our order.I made a few phone calls and connected with Jeffrey at Zao Jun, who said they would accommodate our group on short notice and also ended up being our server. He took incredible care of us but we ordered way too much food! From soup, noodle dishes and stir fries to sea bass, duck, sushi, ribs, and even a hamburger, this restaurant has it all... some of it is done better than others, but there is something for everyone here. We also had some drinks...The restaurant itself is huge! You can't tell from the storefront but when I walked back to the restroom, I was shocked. It is clean and has a modern look and good energy. We closed it down that night and it will be an evening we'll remember for awhile, and one that my dad, RBK, would have enjoyed as well. We know he was looking down on us as we mourned his passing together.Whether you go for lunch, dinner, happy hour, or whatever, just go and enjoy!

Went for lunch at noon on a Saturday. There weren't many customers because they had recently opened so it was easy to get seated. It took a little bit for our waiter to notice we were there but once he did his service was really good. He gave some recommendations and we took him up on them. We skipped the cocktails on this visit and enjoyed the food. The Giant Egg Rolls ($11 for 2) were pretty good but they could have used a little more seasoning in the filling, as it was a bit bland. The Crab Rangoons ($14) were really good. And the two sushi rolls that we shared were also good. We had the Firecracker Roll ($15), and the Tail Of Two Salmon Roll ($17). It's really cute inside the restaurant. The lighting is nice. The tables are big and it's really comfortable. I do have to say that because the space is so open that once it starts to get full with people it's very loud. But as long as you don't mind that then I definitely recommend the location. They have some larger tables in the front section of the restaurant so I think it's a good option for larger families and groups.
