Red Bean Matcha Cream Bread ($3.50) and Black Sesame Seed & Red Bean Cream Bread ($3.50) - I prefer the matcha. Black sesame flavor is muted
Inside of Cloud Bread ($6) - light, fluffy bread with butter cream filling and strawberry jam. The bread is just slightly too dry.
American Cheese Sausage Bread ($2.80), Cream Sand Bread with Taro Cream ($4.50), Red Bean Matcha Cream Bread ($3.50)
Inside of Croffle ($4) - croissant waffle hybrid. Not great. Not crispy, just dense.
Special Bread ($3.80) - quite sweet. Very thin layers of bread with red bean paste, green pea paste, and cream.
Red Bean Matcha Cream Bread ($3.50) - filled with matcha whipped cream and red bean paste. I liked the filling! Bread was a tad dry though.
Inside of Ham & Egg Bread ($3) - too much mayo, too creamy for me. Would have preferred more salt.
Special Bread ($3.80) and Cloud Bread ($5)
Mango Snow Flake ($14.50) - takeout bingsu. Big portion; the mango is great and very ripe. Has cornflakes on the top.
American Cheese Sausage Bread ($2.80) - bread with a hot dog, cheese, and some onion inside
Inside of Red Bean Matcha Cream Bread ($3.50) - good! Cream has a strong matcha flavor.
Cream Sand Bread with Taro Cream ($4.50) - can feel the sugar granules in the cream. Bread is soft and fluffy, slightly sweet.
Sweet Potato Cream Cake Slice ($6.40) - flavor and texture are both very light. Has a slight sweet potato flavor, but mainly is just fluffy
Cloud Bread ($5) - very fluffy bread with soboro topping, buttery cream and strawberry jam inside. I like the bread: it's very soft.
Inside
Red Bean Green Tea Cream Cake ($6.80) - flavors are tasty, but the textures are just OK
Cloud Bread ($6) - light, fluffy bread with butter cream filling and strawberry jam. The bread is just slightly too dry.
Mango & Strawberry Cream Cake Slice ($5.80, cream has nice mango flavor) + Sweet Potato Cream Cake Slice ($6.40)
Inside of strawberry cream puff ($4.50) - cream is good. Very little strawberry inside.
Red Bean Matcha Cream Bread ($3.50) and Black Sesame Seed & Red Bean Cream Bread ($3.50) - I prefer the matcha. Black sesame flavor is muted
Inside of Pecan Tart ($3.69) - very sweet filling
Inside of Ang Butter (Red Bean Paste) ($3.90) - for me the butter was too much. But the saltiness balances out the red bean paste flavor.
Inside of Mammoth Bread - quite sweet, with peanut butter crumbles on top. Inside has red and green bean pastes, cream, strawberry jam.

I tried several of Yoon's bakes today and they were all good. Cream filled bread (black sesame and bean paste) - soft and buttery, I wish there was more black sesame flavor. Taro cake - light and airy genoise sponge. Equal parts cream to cake, not too sweet.Ham and egg bread - it had the same buttery bread as many of their other treats. The ham had a good flavor and it was topped with egg salad. It was alright. Curry thingy - Looks like potato onion carrots maybe a little egg inside. The bread is like a brioche with loads of crunchies stuck to it. I put it in the toaster oven for 5 minsCheesecake - delicious and not too sweet. It has a flakey texture when you put your fork into it but creamy on the tongue. Cake on the bottom. Overall, I probably wouldn't choose it over some of their other more unique bakes.

Yoon's is incredible. Been coming here for years but seems it's gotten more popular recently, especially with the addition of the shaved ice, which is such a treat when the weather's hot. It will even hold up well on a short trip home because of how carefully they package it to-go.Favorite baked goods here include:- red bean bun (whole bean and regular, just so classic)- chocolate soboro- garlic bread- curry croquette (incredible!)Hope this place sticks around for years to come because they have the best and broadest selection of this style of baked goods in town.

Theres not a lot of seating here if you plan on dining in, but we were still able to find a spot despite the crowd. The matcha bingsoo was amazing! On top of the mountain of shaved ice is a scoop of matcha ice cream, and there's a generous amount of matcha powder sprinkled across the surface. The bitterness of the matcha balances well with the sweet milky shaved ice, the ice cream, sweet red bean paste, and condensed milk; making the overall sweetness level at a balanced spot. The mochi adds a chewy texture and I was amazed that there's red bean paste filling in the mochi! Underneath the bingsoo hides a layer of cornflake, which adds to the texture profile with crunchiness. Definitely one of the best bingsoo spot I've tried in Michigan!

I realized I hadn't been inside Yoon's for quite a while when I walked in and didn't recognize most of the set up! (the last few years when I've gotten a craving for Yoon's delicious goods I've ordered through delivery). It was a pleasant upgrade and they definitely changed for the better. The space is so bright and clean, fixtures are easy to maneuver. They have bigger, easier to read menu for their offerings like beverages, shaved ice, etc. There are now two coolers, one with grab and go packaged slices of cakes, cheesecake, and other items like tiramisu. And the other which is their previous cold case with full sized cakes and such. I came towards the end of the day on a Friday and though some of the shelves were empty (sold out for the day) they still had a ton to choose from. I got my usuals but also grabbed my husband a tiramisu and myself some basque cheesecake. As well as several pastries of course. Everything was just as good as I remember it being. Hands down one of my favorite places in Ann Arbor!

Stopped in here on a Saturday around 1pm and was pleasantly surprised to find a stacked bakery! I figured it would be picked over and also possibly packed ( the parking lot was insane, did a few laps) There was so much to choose from, from sweet to savory they have you covered. This placed reminded me a lot of the bakeries I frequented in Korea. We decided on the red bean matcha cream bread, corn mayo bread, and a warm curry croquet. The curry croquet hit the spot on this snowy Michigan day! The corn mayo was good. And the red bean matcha cream bread was perfect! Need to come back and try some more items as well as something from one of the cooler cases and cakes! Got three things for about $10!

Before "big box" bakeries started to pop up, Yoon's seemingly was holding down the fort as sole Korean style bakery.I know this because there was a period of time I was searching for a Korean bakery when I first landed in NW Ohio area and discovering Yoon's. It's still a good hour away from me, but an hour is a relatively small price to pay when a specific cravings come at you.A few more of the large franchise bakeries have since opened in nearby areas so it's good to have options. They all carry slightly different kinds of pastries. What I have found; Yoon's has very good old school Korean pastries that have been around for a long time. By old school, I'm talking soboro bread, red bean pastry, cream filled pastries and such. These are what my generation is used to from back in my days. Pastries evolve. Trends change. Kids grow older just like evrrything else. I've seen some "faddy" items cone and go. Some have lingered, and I like some of them. But in my personal opinion, Yoon's newer items are not as strong as their old school ones. One example is the coffee bun. There are "specialty" bakeries for these, and they taste more proper in my opinion. But this isn't gonna stop me from going back to Yoon's.

We stopped in after reading the rave reviews, and left wishing we had bought more! Next time I will get the shave ice, but today I got the Castella which was pillowy, soft, and deliciously eggy. My daughter got a blueberry scone, and my husband chose a classic egg tart.

This is a Korean style bakery conveniently located across from the University of Michigan's North Campus in the same strip mall as Evergreen Restaurant, Midnight Karaoke, and Way 1 Chinese Supermarket.A lot of the pastries are too sweet for my taste, but there are a few excellent savory snacks. I come here to get the Salted Butter Roll Bread ($3.00). I also like the new item Ang Butter Bread with red bean and butter ($4.50). They've also recently introduced Baked Ham Cheese Toast ($5.50). The Salted Butter Roll Bread is my favorite and very addictive. It's like a heavier croissant that has been brushed with lots of salted butter before going into the oven. The prices are quite high. It's very easy to spend $30 or more for a handful of pastries. It's Ann Arbor though so that's to be expected. The more affordable Asian bakeries are on the other side of town in Madison Heights.

My new favorites here are the blueberry cream cheese bun, strawberry shortcake bun, panko sausage bun, and the chocolate ball (like a fudgy brownie.) The chocolate ganache cake and mocha cakes were good. Tiramisu is good but I like more cream. The apricot twist is meh, sweet potato cream filled bun is good but I prefer the one with crumbs, The chocolate bun is ok, better than the one at Moose. Carrot cake was just ok.

An excellent bakery. Have tried their pastries and cakes and they've all been delicious. We Asians love when desserts are "not too sweet" and this place hits the mark. Friendly service. Several tables inside and outside to sit at. Love coming here!
