A classic Hamtramk Yemeni restaurant filled with happy diner's eating food from the homeland. Marvelous unique dishes we tried OMG what a fantastic place. Started with a bowl of Lamb Broth Soup and a mega Rashoosh Bread with Toum Garlic Sauce and Zhug Yemenite Hot Sauce With Cilantro and Parsley . She had Gallaba with Rice outstanding balance of flavor . Me had 2 exciting dishes, Scrambled Eggs (Shak-Shoka)Scrambled eggs with Tomatoes, Onions, & Jalapenos the most perfect Eggs ever . Holy Wowed by MutabbakBread stuffed with (Ground beef or Eggs) mixed with Tomatoes, Onions, & seasoningChoice of Ground beef or Eggs. I had both Eggs and Beef. service 4/4 you gotta walk on in all the way to the back by the open kotchen to be greeted and seated. drinks you can grab yourself (theyll bill you or you can ask with your order.ambiance 2.5/5 we cane arpund 6pm, most of the tables were not ready for seating.. and the table we sat at was not wiped properly. serving plates/utensils came out a bit greasy on the handles - they were replaced immediately w.care. overall, the food is a solid 5/5 authentic & delicious! bold flavours and spices of the middle east blends so well in their stews and gyros! we recommend the yemen bread & honey butter! its their house made pita/naan-like bread with a really great chew, brushed with a buttery honey sauce! though id get the honey butter ots to dip next time. the bread is huge (~2-3 ppl) so order other dishes and you can dip it too! we also got their gyro rice plate (comes w.a pinch of lettuce/onions/diced tomatoes). the rice has a strong cumin taste - we loved it! wished there was more ;) we also got the fahsah (its a chunky stew w.choice protein of chicken, tuna or lamb), and we enjoyed it with the rice and bread! would definitely come back here!

My first love of Yemen food. This place never ceases to amaze me. This place has a place in my heart for life. So authentic. I just love watching the culture and how tightknit they are. Tie that shit up with a bow combined with great food and laughter. I just love coming to this place and I just love the food and how attentive the waiters are. The atmosphere is very chill. This is a very informal type of place.

Visited here recently and had a great experience! Food was delicious, fresh, and affordable. Was with a larger group of people and the staff was very efficient and friendly. I really enjoyed my shawarma wrap, mango smoothie, and chicken lemon rice soup. Also tried some of my bf's falafel hummus plate which was delicious too. Place is clean as well. Parking is a little tricky but worth it. Would definitely come back again!

I can't believe the amount of food you get, definitely get your money's worth here. lots of fat to pick through on the lamb, but that is what gives it all it's flavor and makes it fall off the bone. The service was very slow, but our server was nice and accommodating. The tables and floors were sticky, which is a pet peeve of mine, and I dislike their napkins, and napkin dispensers, at the table very much. The napkins were thin like facial tissue, and the dispensers were covered in finger prints, which grossed me out.

This place is definitely doing something right by staying open past everyone else especially on a Sunday. What a great business move and support to its community. The food didn't disappoint either. We were really happy with the chicken and rice. It had great flavor and not dry for being grilled. This little spot is great for post anything especially after the Schvitz. They are open till 1am. It's not fancy but the food is YUMMY and definitely worth a try. If any pointers I would give to the establishment, it would be to adjust the oil quality on the salad. It was too heavy and not olive oil. Hope to visit again! Also, a few options were gluten free but you have to ask server. The lamb soup was NOT gluten free. They do add flour.

Hands down, some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had. The vibe is pretty casual and you get your own complementary tea which is amazing. I couldn't enough! The service was also good, the server would check on us and got us everything we needed. Although, we weren't provided knives which was a little difficult to cut into the steak but other than that everything was awesome. You have to get the Fahsah (we got it with lamb) and it was packed with flavor. We also got the Foul which is on the breakfast but also very good for dipping with bread. We got two orders of the Rashoosh. The bread was also very fresh and a little more denser than the pita bread but we all really liked it. Also ordered a shish combo which also came with salad. The meat was so tender and the steak was a nice medium. That was more than enough for us 3 and we still took quite a bit home. If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out! We will definitely be back.

A friend recommended Yemen Cafe, so I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon. The customer service was superb! Our waiter checked up on us several times, and he served us complimentary honey tea and condiments. I tried the Tabbouli Salad and Grape Leaves. The Salad was delicious, but it included way too many onion slices. The Grape Leaves were too mushy for my taste, unfortunately. They easily broke when pierced with a fork. I would return to try a more traditional dish next time.

Overall rating for food is 3.5-3.8, but I think it was ok and could easily be better and also maybe the other food that I haven't tried are better. The rice could be improved. Shish kofta and lamb haneeth are pretty good. My favorite is the complimentary tea!Other things the rating is not based on:Person serving us was great! All the people working are very busy working hard. Parking was hard in this area. We did street parking since the lot was not in good condition even though there were a few spaces left. You pay at the counter. Near this counter is also a table that you can get the complimentary tea from. The overall vibe feels familiar, casual.

Amazing food and you get so much for what you order. I've been getting a tray of chicken and rice and making it into meals for work and home - delicious, lasts the whole week, and I don't have to cook as often. The shish tawook is my favorite of the chicken options but they're all good. Their garlic is one of my favorites in the area. I'm very picky about garlic sauce so I am always pleasantly surprised.Great service too - if you have to wait for your order to be ready they bring you tea and apologize.
