What a wonderful place for a black tie optional wedding. Just off the riverwalk with views of the Detroit River and Canada. Industrial downstairs and elegant upstairs. The wedding was on the 1st floor and a place that a bagpiper would not seem out of place or the men in kilts. If you have other ideas about your wedding, it will work. The meal was upstairs had the the correct number of servers that the last table didn't have to wait 20 minutes for theirs after the first table was served. Having some back ground in this, you have to know what you are doing or something with trip you up every time. They didn't. The food was close to a well reviewed 5 star restaurant. My steak warmed up just as good as it was there. The salad didn't have enough dressing, but still good.Cake and dancing was back downstairs. Open bar was setup in both places. I Know $$$$ was spent but it showed. I hope another friend gets married there to just have a chance to go back.

Came to the Waterview Loft for a wedding in summer 2019. There is a parking garage in front of the building but be prepared to pay - otherwise we could not find any other parking. The building is not very impressive on the north end by the south end on the waterfront is where it is at! The service was perfection. Someone was opening the door for guests as they entered, others were directing people where to go and explaining the venue set-up, bartenders, and the food service were top notch. I would give 5 stars just for the service. The food servers came out with plates of food, one for each hand, and wore gloves. Very different then a banquet hall where they set up a tray stand and bring all the plates on a tray. This service was a lot more impressive and made an impact on the dining experience. There had to be at least a dozen plus food runners walking in a line with food. Apps, dessert, and late night snack were all being passed by staff - classy touch and the staff were friendly. The building inside is pretty and has lots of clean lines/open - hence the "loft" in the name. The upper level has great views of the river and of course, our friends to the north - Hi, Canada! The Waterview Loft is also connected to the Port Authority - so the Victory I Cruise Liner was docked in front of the venue. Cool to see that big of a ship but harder to see river views. The ceremony was downstairs while the cocktail reception and dinner was upstairs - then the dance floor/dj were back downstairs in the ceremony space. I felt disconnected from the reception and dance floor, so this was a bit disappointing. Two different areas to go outside either on the lower level or upstairs and great for taking pictures or checking out the sites. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The entree was excellent - surf and turf, gotta make most people happy, right?! The salad was a bit lacking with just greens, very little dressing, and hardly any sides. However, the entrees were cooked to perfection - medium to medium-rare steak and salmon that was creamy. Very hard to do when plating so many entrees to so many people. Overall, it was a great place for a wedding. Service and food were great. But the garage paid parking and separation of dance floor and reception were my negatives.

Came here for the Detroit Lions holiday party and it was a beautiful building. They utilized two floors that had an exquisite view of Detroit and the river view. A small and intimate center, can meet the needs for a small wedding or group occasion. The room set up is narrow and long, with three bars and extremely delightful and helpful staff. There were about 150 employees who came but without the second floor space there would have been no way we would have all fit. The outside patio was quite large and had a fire place and heat lamps but they barely took away the wind chill.I'm not sure who catered, but the food was good, the only excellent item was a cheese and potato pasty. The vegetarian pasta and mushroom ravioli tasted like a packaged Gordon Food Service item. Their dessert had an extremely buttery bread pudding with medorchure ice cream and salted Carmel that would've left you in heart failure with all the salt. It truly was way too much. Bar tenders are great and fast, just stay away from the Merry Berry Splash holiday drink. The bathroom situation was quite unpleasant, only one I could find on the first floor in a hidden corner. They were large and clean, but only one stall and two bathrooms. Did not accommodate all the "over beveraged" bladders.

Wow man what a great place for a wedding!! Easy parking outside on the street for a few cars, which I was happy to take advantage of. Beautiful waterfront super modern new building. Great staff. Cocktails downstairs, big bar, heavy appetizers coming round nonstop. Dinner upstairs 3 stations with nice turkey & beef carvings. Seat yourself & found 4 new friends. Hilarious! Great time at the Wiater wedding. Even saw the Westcott mailboat pull up alongside the outside dock. 5 stars if I ever marry a gal from Detroit I would do it there. Great!

This location is very nice, right by the water overlooking the Detroit river. It's a really great place to have a conference, off site or a reception at. All the people here are very friendly, helpful and give great service. The food is very good, they had a buffet style of food and all the food was clearly marked which makes it easy for people that have specific allergies or preferences. They also have wifi, the wifi didn't work great downstairs but I had no problem using it on the second floor. There's a nearby parking garage, not the cheapest at about $20 per day but it's well maintained and the location is right by Port Detroit. They also work with the Summer Cruise Series so you can book a yacht and Port Detroit can provide food to be served onboard the cruise.

The perfect venue for a round 200 people. Attended the Digital Summit Email Marketing conference there and was impressed. This is a great space overlooking the Riverwalk and the Detroit River. The boxed lunch was DELICIOUS! The workers were friendly. The bathrooms were clean. This would also be a great spot for a wedding or a reception.

This location was absolutelly beautiful & a must see if you are looking for a wedding location or a fancy event location. From the table cloths, to the staff uniforms, to the spotless windows, this place is killin it! The food was on point. The bartender knew how to make a proper Old Fashioned. The view is just amazing. Spotless bathrooms. Outdoor patio area with smoking area nearby if you need that accommodation. Could not be more pleased with my entire experience.

My husband and I are so happy we chose Waterview Loft for our wedding. We wanted a venue where we could have the ceremony and reception in the same place, and where everything would be packaged and organized together, as far as the food, drinks, decor, etc. Waterview Loft was exactly that, but far exceeded our expectations. They guided us through every aspect of the wedding planning process, making our choices simple and easy. We couldn't have messed it up if we tried. All the vendors they work with are fantastic, and the fact that Waterview Loft coordinates with them all made our lives so much easier not having to worry about logistical details with so many different groups. The day of the wedding was so seamless it still mystifies me. I was nervous about how everything was going to work out with all the different vendors and all the different timings of things coming together, but they took care of everything, and I never even had to ask a question or follow-up with them because they anticipated every need or want I could possibly have. Between our VIP server and the building manager and probably other people I wasn't even aware of, they were in constant communication with each other making sure things were lining up, that my family and husband and I always had a drink in our hands if we wanted one, and making sure everyone was happy. The food was delicious, the decor was beautiful, the DJ was great, and the service was impeccable. Every guest I've talked to said it was the best, most beautiful, and most fun wedding they've ever been to. I honestly cannot imagine a more perfect day in a more perfect place, and I would 100% recommend Waterview Loft to anyone planning a wedding, or any other event for that matter.

The Waterview loft is a fantastic venue and a great place to bring guests to show off how awesome Detroit truly is. Great food through their exclusive catering company, 3 great space to activate, 4 if you add on a yacht and easy to work with. Love the easy access parking structure as well as the convenient valet staging area if you prefer.
