I always see someone I know stop in here so I decided to give it a try and I DO NOT regret it at all. The server was nice and patient with it being my first time. I ordered the Drunken Fried Rice it came with bean sprouts, bell peppers, an egg and some more veggies. I got medium spice level. And two spring rolls. Honestly I have had better spring rolls there spring rolls weren't as stuffed and the breading was really thick. Other wise the fried rice was DELICIOUS omg the spice level was perfect and they gave you a lot of food. All my food equal less than $20 10/10 I will definitely be back

Food was prepared really fast. Within 15 minutes of me ordering it was ready. I ordered the pad ped medium. I like spicy don't get me wrong but next time I'll get regular. It's really spicy! They say carryout only but I a couple eating inside which was cool. Very quaint spot. Mostly made for pick up. I would return.

i've been ordering von thai at least a couple times a month for the past six months, and if there's one big negative i'll say about them is that they are horribly inconsistent -- but, overall, they're still good. it does suck that one order of von fried rice (for instance) is dope as hell where the next is strictly mid, but it's never *bad*. this review will be in regards to my last delivery order. first up, the aforementioned von fried rice. spoiler: it wasn't the best. my girlfriend said it perfectly.. it tasted... fresh? bro, i want my fried rice to be greased up with a nice char. often times it is like that. but this time, it just tasted... fresh. i dunno, it's not what i look for from fried rice. you can even see in the picture it looks pretty ehh. the orange tofu we've gotten before, and it's one of their more consistent dishes. my only knock here is that there's hardly any tofu in it most of the time. the sweet and spicy and tangy sauce is great though and the vegetables are plentiful, so i ain't gonna bitch too much. i do wish they gave a little extra white rice though to soak up all the sauce. the drunken noodles... sigh. i can't get over how much these differ when i order them. truly they're never great, but i want them to be, so i keep rolling the dice and ordering them. the biggest problem i have with them is that they don't have thai basil by default -- why? it's the 1a necessary ingredient to making drunken noodles taste like drunken noodles. my girlfriend and i opt to add it, but this time around it didn't taste like anything...? we could see little nugs of chopped up somethinggreen, but it had no flavor. also, they went *hard* on the bean sprouts -- so hard that the dish had a fishy smell.. it was about 50/50 with the noodles. i think i can unfortunately safely assure myself i won't give the drunken noodles another try.. and it sucks, because drunken noodles are my absolute favorite dish from thai restaurants. sigh. the massaman curry is an absolute must. along with their potato curry, they're two of the more consistent dishes they make -- and even at their worst, they're the best tasting thing on the menu. sweet, spicy, filling, and crazy flavorful. i've been tempted to have a tray of it catered, it's that good. they also have and actually make their own spring rolls. they're reliably tasty, but the sauce changes from what looks like a sort of homemade applesauce concoction (it's delicious), and a neon pink colored sauce that looks like it's from a bottle. overall, von's an easy 5/5 if they were to make their dishes to the best of their ability every time, but since they pretty frequently make duds alongside their studs... i'll toss 4 stars.

This is hands down the best thai food in the Detroit metro area. If you are looking for water down sugar thai food, this is not the place. The food is full of flavor and herbs. The owner truly cares about taste.

Get the drunken rice Period. I've had the pineapple rice, bacon rice and drunken noodles as well. The only thing I didn't care for was the pineapple rice. It looks weird. But nothing compares to the drunken rice. I always get it with chicken but it seems like it would be good with beef too! The customer service is nothing to brag about, but not rude or anything either. Ambiance is ehhJust get your drunken rice and leave.
