Enjoyed our annual Christmas holiday dinner with our friends. The call-ahead reservation process worked great. Not so sure about the $19.50 I was charged for a dirty martini but in the spirit of Christmas I didn't complain.

Sunday night in Lake Orion can be hit and miss as most places seem to be done by 8 ish. So with Victoria's in Oxford closed for a private party DJ and I sought out another nicer place. Valentinos came to mind and off we went to Lower Oxford. Surpringly busy for a Sunday night, we ventured in and were seated quickly even without a reservation. As it turns out, it was all you can eat pasta which we only noticed going out the door by a sign in the window. It was never mentioned by our server or on the specials. Odd, but I probably wouldn't have ordered it, so no great loss . DJ, who had a drive ahead of her, didn't cocktail, but I soldiered on ordering my usual Grey Goose Martini OTR with BCO's. Well done although I didn't double check consistency by ordering a second. Warm soft rolls came out, which were nice but served without olive oil or butter, until I asked. Appetizers were meatballs with the same rolls cut in half covered with cheese and sausage and peppers. Both were good if a bit luke warm. DJ order the Sea Bass and I had the Veal Picatta. My veal was good, pounded thin and served on a sea of pasta. The sauce was good if a bit overwhelming. DJ's fish was good but the green beans looked like they were probably better earlier. I did have a Pinot G with dinner that was very good with a strong country club pour. Now we got there around 6:30. We left at 9. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation, but the food took forever. Prices are very reasonable in this day and age but the wait dragged things down. If I had been there for $14 all you can eat pasta that's one thing, but as my father would say " hot things should be hot" and $122 later before tip it wasn't just the food that wasn't so hot. So order and dine accordingly but I think it could be tuned up.Valentinos in Lake O. Hmm. Go

First time we have visited in some time. Still as good as we remember. It was very quiet for a Saturday night. Maybe people away for an early holiday weekend or out on their boats! Anyway very good meal and service was exceptional. We shared a calamari appetizer in a lemon aioli that was delicious. Calamari was super tender. My wife had the house salad and I had a Caesar. Caesar was good but a bit heavy on the dressing. We both had veal parm which was very good....top notch veal. Sauce was a little more on the sweet side than we prefer but still good. Definitely worth visit if looking for Italian food. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and quantity of food as well.

We hadn't gone to Valentino's in over 2 years, not sure why. We live pretty close and were in the mood for italian food. Long story short, the food was excellent as was the service! Valentino's is definitely on our list of places to visit at least once a month!

I am disappointed to have to write how terrible my meal was. I am a huge supporter of local independent business' and have been to Valentinos on numerous occasions. The food isn't fantastic, but it is good food, well used to be good food until my last experience. To cut it short because I could go on and on, we waited over 1 hour for our entrees, and then my particular entree, a steak wasn't even cooked properly, on one side of the steak it was greyish almost looked a little microwaved, while the other side of the steak was raw, not rare...RAW. I am not sure that based upon this last experience that I could ever return and everyone in my party had some small issue with something on their plate, whether it was a mistake or a strange taste. We have a party of 5 there and we all stated we wouldn't be back. I used to rave about this place but now it seems it is going a little south for us.

Not to much going on here. It's nothing great but not that bad. Prices are very steep for the quality of the food and the selection is not that good. The last two meals here sent me running to the Mens room. The steak options suck and I wish there were more to choose from. The food is your typical American Italian stuff here and I guess that does very little for me. Growing up Italian, I was spoiled with the good stuff and this place offers nothing special or spectacular like the old country offers. I know it's miles away but bring something real and Italian to the table. The usual for me is the filet with zip sauce and a Caesar salad. My wife had the salmon with stuffed fab last time and that wasn't bad but it was to fishy for me. Overall it's just plain snd nothing special for me. Service is always good and parking is an issue. They don't have much parking for the disabled on the street and the lower level doesn't provide an elevator and the driveway slope is too steep to walk with disabilities. I had to park down below last time and the stairs were an issue and I Al ost lost my balance and fell so be careful if you've got disability. Don't be fooled if anyone tells you it's the best Italian in the Orion Oxford area because it's the only Italian and the competition Italian Gardens doesn't count, because it's less than Olive Garden quality and that nothing to compare too. I'll be back because my mom's a regular here but I'm never excited about it. They need a bigger menu, more variety and something unique to the Italians other than the typical stuff.
