When at 7 on Sunday night and the host was quick to seat us and gave us chips and salsa while we waited for a bit. The server was also very nice and efficient even though she was busy. I loved the street tacos and the hot salsa. The chips are not salted I think but there's salt at the table to do it to your liking. It's low-lit, comforting place to eat for a good price!

we went last night and it was so sad. this place just continues to go down hill. the restaurant is dirty and so unkept. the front of the building walking in is atrocious with a big pot of cigarette butts and overgrown landscape. the inside is disappointing and the bathrooms...don't even get me started , how do they remain open ? i would hate to see the kitchen eww

Looking for nachos? Look no further! Simply amazing. Run don't walk. Word of advice - they don't come with sour cream. You have to order on the side.

We loved this place, and used to come here almost every week about 15yrs ago; we're back in town and excited to come back and were sorely disappointed. First off, the inside looks like it needs a good cleaning; tiled areas look dirty, our table wasn't quite cleaned so I wiped it myself. Our meal (bean burrito and Carmen's tacos, guacamole) were lackluster. Chips (homemade) weren't salted and no salt on tables; some chips undercooked to the point they were raw in the middle. "Carmen's tacos" taco shells were so thick I felt like I was eating a weird dough. Only one waitress, so we never got refills on our water, or salsa; kept looking for waitress but couldn't catch her and gave up. I felt bad for the waitress, since she was busting butt waiting on all tables. Choosing to remember the good 'ole days, don't need to go back.

Best thing you can get here is the nachos - hands down! We have ordered them for carry out and for dine in and they are the BEST thing on the menu! The cheese is so salty, the beef delicious, chips amazing. Okay now I'm craving nachos again Last time we came in I did try a build a combo plate, the taco was great but the taquito was not what I was expecting at all! Nice little Mexican spot, and a favorite to have in our back pocket!

Great staff great food and one of the best nachos in Oakland County. Also my review apparently needs 85 characters to even qualify as a review so here it is so fucking stupid.

Absolutely the worst service I've ever received in my life - this place has gone down hill drastically. I've been going to this place for 20 years and tonight was the last straw. I got in and waited 20+ minutes for a table after being told 5 minutes wait. Got to the table and waited forever for service. Placed our order and waited over an hour before going to the manager who threw the waitress under the table for not putting our food in. The place was busy, but not that busy... we sat there and watched multiple tables who showed up after we did get their food, including a party of 11.. the manager was not very helpful and wanted us to wait longer to get our food to go. A once great staple around town has slowly slipped and is no longer a place to patronize - at this rate they will be out of business very quickly.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. SAVE YOURSELF A TRIP TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. First and last time to this restaurant. It's really a shame because as we waited a very, very long time to be acknowledged for dine in, I saw an artistic chair with what appears to be pic Trini and Carmen on the seat from a long time ago. Judging by the pic style, I wouldn't think they are still around. I think they would be ashamed of what their legacy has become. So as we wait to be acknowledged at the host stand, there are two other couples ahead of us waiting for the same. A guy in a t shirt came to the stand, grabbed something, didn't even look up to the first couple. As I am waiting in a very dingy, dark, bulbs burned out lobby, I look around. There's a near empty glass cabinet and another with no decoration or merchandise, but full of dead bugs. FULL. All over the glass shelves. Just dirty. When you first walk in, you smell the sweet smell of corn tortillas. As you have to wait to be acknowledged, which was 23 minutes before we started to leave, the smell turns into stale air and mold. No kidding. So again, we are there with two couples ahead of us. We have a full view of the side of the bar. I watch two servers prep new drinks as well as dump dirty glasses on the same shelf. Then another server confuses the glasses for new glasses ones and fills them and puts new straws in. Off she goes to different customers. Wait...it gets better. A server places a bunch of dirty glasses in this same area. A few of them fall over and the liquid falls into the ice bin directly below! Without skipping a beat, he continues to work on now getting ice out of the bin for fresh waters. WOW! I ok am floored. The one couple ahead of us chimes in...'did you see that?' I say, 'I sure did!' We walked out as did the other couple. Using common sense...you would ask me, 'hey did we tell anyone about this? How could we...There was never anyone at the front to even say hello. Let's me say this as well. This is not a huge place and I saw a number of different employees on the floor. It's just plain and simple, poorly managed. At 25 minutes now before even being acknowledged, we were outta of there. We wanted to give a new place a try. Especially to support local, non chain places. But I couldn't let this one get by without a warning review. And by the way, I am not a serial review poster. But I was so appalled due to the potential health concerns, I had to post.I am all about buy and shop local. It is my hope that management sees this review, along with several recent reviews nearly stating the same, and develop a corrective action planTo get this place back on track.

Trini and Carmen s has been around for years! The Martinez family continues to do the best nachos, Margaritas since they were over on Woodward Ave. Their parents would be proud that the legacy lives on. Try even taking a large nacho to go, uncooked. When you get home and settled put in the oven @ 350. My family has done this for decades. But there s nothing like going in have cold Gold Margarita with Grand Marnier and Kosher salt on the rim with there ausome guacamole and hot sauce!! OLE! Oh, Carmen has some nice artifacts in the lobby and foyer she brought back from Mexico years ago. God bless them.

This review is based on the chicken mini nachos. I drive from Walked Lake for them! The atmosphere is divey, service is pretty good but the nachos make it a 5 star.
