Tony Cannoli has always been a favorite of mine for nice Italian treats. This particular location is essentially a counter located inside of the Trentwood Farms grocery store but has everything that you expect out of a delicious Italian bakery. I believe they are related to Luca Pastry (same owner?) , which was a surprise when I picked up a business card and it listed both Tony Cannoli and Luca Pastry. No wonder I like both of them so much! I always get the cannoli here and usually one or two other items. This time I got:Italian/Sicilian Cannoli ($2.75) - The only difference is the topping studded on the ends of the cannoli. The Italian has chocolate chips while the Sicilian has ground almonds. Regardless of type, the shell is fresh and has a good cookie crisp, while the interior is filled with a ricotta cream mixture that is sweet, decadent, and very filling. The cannoli aren't made fresh to order, but I doubt they keep them in the case for longer than the day they are made considering how good they are every time. Eclair ($3.50) - The eclair has a thin chocolate ganache layer encrusting the top that melts easily in your hands. Underneath there's a thin shell of choux pastry that is generously filled with Bavarian cream. The cream is smooth and rich and not too sweet. Delicious!I especially love the Cannoli Paczki they have every year near Paczki day. They didn't have them yet when I went, but I will definitely be back soon to get some.If you're looking for some delicious sweets, give Tony Cannoli a try!Edit:I went back to Tony Canolli in February to pick up a Cannoli Paczki, this time to compare against two other bakeries in Metro Detroit. Cannoli Paczki ($3.25) - The ricotta filling is delicious as always. Sweet, slightly tangy, rich and dense. The mini chocolate chips studded in the overflowing filling is a nice touch to really tie down the cannoli twist. The paczki dough felt the most industrialized of the three places I tried. It felt kind of like commercial brioche - very uniform with what seems to be a decent amount of dough conditioner and stabilizers. The taste of the dough isn't nearly as developed as my top choice (New Palace Bakery). It also felt like the dough was maybe a little dried out, perhaps sitting out for a while in the display case. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have noticed some of these characteristics if I hadn't been doing a direct comparison and instead was eating this in a vacuum. Overall the paczki is still good. It's just not the best of the best.

Came here the other day for some Detroit Lions themed goodies. It was super busy inside of the Trenton location but I love that they overstocked on all of their items. Staff was really friendly.
