Best thin crust pizza anywhere. Pizza like it's supposed to be. White pizza, red with sausage, lots of other good toppings with a dash of oregano and olive oil.Super good if you haven't tried it ..

TOMATOES APIZZA has been delighting the Farmington Hills area with its Neapolitan via New Haven, CT-style "apizza" (pronounced "ah-BEETs") since 1998, earning widespread acclaim. This distinctive style is characterized by its irregular shape and the perfect balance of a thin, chewy, crispy crust that's slightly charred for an authentic touch. The owner, Mike Weinstein, honed his skills at the Culinary Institute of America and learned the art of making this unique pizza style from legendary pizzaiolo Lou Abate before bringing the first coal-fired pizza to Michigan. What We Tried:Naples SamplerThis sampler is a great introduction to their diverse offerings, featuring four different sections: 1/4 Classic with one topping, 1/4 White, 1/4 Green, and 1/4 Fresh Mozzarella. The Experience:The standout feature of the pizza at TOMATOES APIZZA is undeniably the crust. It strikes a perfect balance between crispness and chewiness, with a light, airy texture that doesn't weigh you down. Each bite is packed with flavor, thanks to the subtle char and high-quality ingredients. The Naples Sampler offers a little bit of everything, showcasing the variety in flavor profiles, from the rich and creamy White slice to the fresh, herbaceous Green slice. The atmosphere at Tomatoes is warm and welcoming, capturing the essence of a classic pizzeria while paying homage to the traditional roots of New Haven-style pizza. It's a great spot for both casual dining and pizza enthusiasts seeking an authentic taste of coal-fired craftsmanship.Overall, TOMATOES APIZZA brings an exceptional slice of history and flavor to Michigan. If you appreciate a pizza with a perfect crust and want to experience the heritage of New Haven apizza, this place is a must-visit.

Went there for the thin crust - soggy when I got home. Large with only two ingredients $35 - pepperoni and mushroom. Cutting was pretty much random with a knife - no squares - which would have been appropriate. I can do better with a plain dominoes and add mu own ingredients. $35 for this - ridiculous. Better off going to Kroger frozen.

I had heard so many good things about this place and was excited to finally try it. I got a Naples Sampler and a 1/2 crab and 1/2 white with mushrooms. The original in the Naples sampler was probably my favorite and the second runner up was the one with fresh mozzarella. However overallIt was just average. We have a couple wood fired pizza places close to my home and I feel like they had more flavor than this. Also was disappointed with the crab pizza. While toppings were plentiful I would have preferred less crab and it be actual crab not KRAB. I think they need to spellIt with the K or make sure people know it's fake crab. Had I known that I would not have been as excited to try it and as disappointed by its flavor.

Ambiance is pretty cool and the pizza is delicious. I have wanted to try appiza for awhile and I think this does a serviceable job of introducing it to Michigan. I understand the cut style is a thing, but would have just preferred slices. Tough call on a star rating as the pizza is delicious but extremely expensive. That being said it fed me, my wife and two small (3 &1) boys with a couple leftover pieces so it's cheap restaurant food in that regard. Still, for thin cheese pizza, 35 bucks is a lot. However I'd go back to try their unique offering.

This was by far the worst "pizza" we have ever had. It wasn't a little "crisp". It was burnt. It was leather. It was hard to bite off a piece. There was little to no cheese. There was absolutely nothing good about it. There was no one in there when we went and I can see why. The good reviews MUST be fake. If not, I don't get it. We love thin pizza. It wasn't that. I'm sorry but it was absolutely the worst pizza we have ever had.

The pizza is generally good, but the customer service is generally bad at this location. Worse yet, there isn't any management interest to address the issues. If you can, visit one of the other Tomatoes locations instead. You'll get the same quality choices, hopefully without the bad customer service.I showed up one time to pick up a pizza. I was on time for pickup, definitely not early. After I paid for the pizza the employee looked like they were getting my pizza, but then just disappeared into the restaurant. I was left wondering where my pizza was. I found out a few minutes later (from another employee) that my pizza had just been put into the oven and I wouldn't get it for another 10+ minutes. Why couldn't the original employee tell me that? That same employee has also been rude on the phone.

The first time we visited Tomatoes APIZZA the pizza was AMAZING! Delicious Neopolitan style with abundant toppings etc. although it was pricey. Our server mentioned that during the week they had a pizza buffet at lunch time . We were so excited, we would come back and get some great pizza at a more reasonable price. So today we tried it. Like night and day. Pizza was cold, hard as rock and extremely skimpy toppings. Hard to believe it was the same place. Do yourself a favor and skip the buffet.
