We have come here a few times now and have enjoyed everything we have had. The items on our "frequent order" list are the sweet shrimp (LOVE the fried head), sexy roll (with a slight modification, which sometimes they charge extra for), raw scallop, and spider roll. I personally really enjoyed the seafood pancake at the restaurant but for some reason, my husband preferred the leftovers at home once we reheated it in the air fryer. The raw scallops are always sweet tasting and the sweet shrimp is very impressive! Love the fried head and swear I can make a meal out of just those! We go back a few times a month and continue to explore the menu...next up, bim bim bop now that the weather is getting cooler. The table next to us ordred it and it smelled incredible!

The tofu and sushi house are in the same restaurant or different sides of the same restaurant. I always have to try every Korean restaurant without fail. We ordered the california as a california style, sexy and a delicious roll, some edamame and ginger salad. Prices here would have been okay if the food quality were better. Our bill total was $45.90, The rolls were all decent. The edamame and miso were as expected and fine, but the dressing for the ginger didn't taste fresh or refreshing and a bit old somehow. Service wasn't bad. Food was just so-so.

I'm devastated. They got rid of the fried fish that naturally accompanies their famous soon du boo soup! The rice, no longer comes out of a iron pot-- it's just scooped up into silver tins JUST LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE. They made changes. It's a beautiful face lift but the food does not match the ambiance. I'm so sad because I would have rather paid more to keep what made this place GOOD and UNIQUE. My husband who orders udon everytime did not finish his meal. The broth tasted instant without much soul. I ordered soon du boo only to be insanely disappointed. In addition, I ordered sushi that had salmon and lemon. They drizzled some sort of orange marmalade on it--- and it was definitely not in it's menu description. Sweet raw sushi. Not my cup of tea. Unless they make those changes back to it's traditional recipes... I will not be back, even if this restaurant is only minutes away.

Yum! If you need some good Korean/Japanese food, this is your place. It's under the same management as Sushi House (right next door) so you can order sushi from the Tofu House side. The prices are pretty average - not inexpensive, but it doesn't break the bank either. The miso soup was really, really good. Not bland like a lot of places! The bulgogi is pretty good, too. I ordered a roll from the Sushi House side, and it took a while to come to the table (maybe 30 minutes?). That may be my only "complaint", but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. It's located in a strip mall so there's a parking lot available. Wait staff was very nice! I only noticed one waitress, but it very well could have been the time of day. I'll be coming back for more!

I keep coming back. My family hasn't previously been as big a fan of bibimbap as I am, but now we have a real risk of living in this restaurant. Generally speaking, we're eating bibimbap and perhaps the Vegetarian Roll from the sushi chef next door, and really appreciating the good food.My only quibble is that the stone bowl is possibly not hot enough, as it does not always result in crispy rice at the bottom of the stone bowl, but only soggy oily rice.

I really enjoyed the bulgogi here. It was flavorful, and generously portioned. They served a side of rice and miso soup with my meal, and also brought out little cold Korean appetizers for everyone to eat before and during the meal. Everybody also got their own little side dish of cold tofu. My friends ordered a Korean stew, that came with rice and scorched rice tea. When the server came, she scooped rice with bits of peas out of a hot stone bowl. She left some of the rice that became crunchy when left for a few minutes longer in the bowls. Afterwards, she poured barley tea into them. This was my first time experiencing scorched rice tea. Loved the food here, the dishes are authentic and delicious. Would definitely come here again!

Best soondubu jjigae (tofu stew) in town. I fell in love with soondubu jjigae when I lived Korea for a year. Since returning to Michigan, I had been searching for some good soondubu jjigae and was failing miserably. Thank the lord, I found this place! For those of you not in the know, soondubu jjigae is a spicy tofu stew. I prefer the seafood version (shrimp and claims) but there are many different variations. This place truly does it right, as the soon du bu comes out boiling and in a clay pot. The broth is a nice mix of savory and spicy. In addition to the soondubu jjigae, this place also make a haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) that rivals New Seoul Garden (which I believe is the best I have had in America or Korea) Also, what makes this place a stand out are the bahnchan (free sides) that come with the meal. This places bahnchan are seriously a meal by themselves. In summary, this is one of my favorite Korean places in town and but for the limitations of the menu it would be number one. This is a great place for an adventurous foodie to make the next step into Korean cuisine. Although I have an unholy love for Korean BBQ and fried chicken, you don't really get to the core of Korean food until you start trying the stews, soups and porridge. I encourage anyone looking to explore Korean food on a deeper level to try this place once. Happy eating.

The amount of food you get for the money is insane I have long been a fan of Sushi House so I decided to check out their sister restaurant. I've been twice in the past three weeks, that in itself says a lot. Both times I've ordered the same thing, I'm not sure what that says about me. The Seafood pancake is so good someone should write a poem or a song about it. In addition to being all crunchy and filled with scallions and seafood, it's HUGE! Take the leftovers over home and reheat them in the toaster over. Perfect snack. I also had the tofu stew with seafood. Both times I asked for hot but the second time they delivered. I was in heaven chowing down on all the little side dishes with my nose running. Note to self: ask for extra napkins. Yes, they pour tea in the left over rice in the stone bowl, deal with it. It's not like you were going to eat it anyway. As far as people griping about take out, come on, can you imagine how much work it is to package 1800 separate little boxes of side dishes? Just eat in like a civilized human being. And if you interpret the language barrier as being rude, well then it's on you. This place is a gem and deserves to be appreciated. Go to Burger King if you want it your way. Peace.

I am in LOVE with this restaurant! For some reason, I did not know about it and have been visiting Korean restaurants near the east side instead. The food here is much, much better and very true to what I expect from Korean dishes. (We lived in Seoul for 2 years)We had vegetable bi bim bap, bulgogi, tofu agedashi and side of sushi rice with the tofu. A pitcher of hot tea and a pitcher of ice water is placed on the table right away, which is so nice... The bi bim bap is more vegetable than rice! Love that! with a thin layer of crunchy cooked rice on the bottom. So many places fill the bowl with almost all rice and hardly any toppings. This restaurant is very generous! Also, very generous with the small dishes that accompany your meal.Going back very soon to try the vegetable seafood pancake... looks amazing too. Such a good eal here: lots of delicious food, good service, good prices and nice decor.

This has weirdly become a go-to for my family. Only weird because we usually default to Chinese food, but we love tofu house! The caveat would be that we now get the same thing every time because when we've tried other things, it hasn't been to our liking. The seafood pancake is so good! Lots of chunks and perfectly fried, not too greasy or salty. It's chewy and delicious! The other dish we always get is the seafood soon du bu! It's perfectly garlicky and hot and the tofu is soft and flavored by the soup. Plenty of seafood chunks and the stone pot rice that comes with doesn't hurt! This is also the only dish that comes with the fried fish ban chan, which my mom loves. I don't care for it because it's fishy and sometimes it's not crispy.Other things we've tried that have been less good include the spicy squid, a beef noodle soup that was supposed to be spicy but wasn't, bulgogi, and korean sausage and ham hocks platter. To be clear, everything we've had is decent but just doesn't live up to the seafood soon du bu.Service is really hit or miss. We often have more than one server so I'm guessing everyone shares. Usually one is really nice and the other is not haha. We always get our food though.
