Toast

I have visited Toast on several occasions. It is very cute and unique. The service and food were excellent. The Classic Two Egg Breakfast with the in-house made jam is delicious! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful atmosphere and ambience! Busy but still enjoyable and intimate. We arrived with a group of 7 and they seated us quickly even though the restaurant had a good crowd. The service was impeccable! Friendly and efficient. It's a very upbeat place and it felt comforting especially when the deliciously prepared entrees arrived. Loved the holiday decor! Sweet or savory: you cannot go wrong. Homemade breads, jams and sauces. A variety of hot sauces at the table is always a winner! This place totally hits! Would very much recommend!

Toast in Ferndale is a great spot for brunch on the weekends and weekdays! The menu had so many things on it that we wanted, it overjoyed us. We split out cravings up into two visits and we are going back this weekend. This visit, we were thoroughly impressed with what we ordered. Again, the options are endless. I ordered an omelette with house potatoes, my toast was a cheddar jalapeño sour dough....AMAZING and they have a variety of fresh jams to pick from???? It gets better I promise. They have actual HOME MADE biscuits and gravy using turkey sausage which I LOVE. I ordered gravy for my omelette as well. The service was great, ambiance is cozy and perfect for the morning hours! Gratuity is included, can't wait to come back!

Adorable and quaint brunch/breakfast hot spot in Ferndale. Smaller than their Birmingham location but the same amount of enthusiasm from their staff and deliciousness from the food! GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS!! They also have outside seating! Highly recommend any omelette and coffee. My cousin loved her French toast and cold brew (wasn't too sweet). Parking is street, ambiance is causal with a hint of Seattle vibes. Get there early!

The only reason I am giving two stars is for the portion sizes, but who wants to eat a plate loaded with food that tastes like absolutely nothing?Is seasoning 'at your own risk' here unless you're into spice so hot you cannot eat it? (Which happened due to a waiter suggesting Enchiladas for breakfast were not spicy...)Apparently my second time here and it was another disappointment...Our waiter, without hesitation, let out a big sigh and stated he was,"tired" and very much showed that in his work ethics the entire time. We were told the coffee had 'just run out' so they were making a fresh pot, however, they STILL gave us the stuff from the bottom of the pot, which was cold and bitter. I asked if I could simply wait for the fresh pot and it too was extremely bitter. My food was the Fried Green Tomatoes benny and the bacon fried rice. BOTH needed salt and I do not add that lightly; I have high blood pressure. I love to cook. I enjoy going out, but all of this food lacked any flavor whatsoever! The bacon fried rice, which was suggested by the waiter as well, tasted only of the oil they used and it had bacon. It should have some flavor!Everything was prepared great and looked wonderful, but everything was absolutely deceiving. Now the BILL... woah. They automatically added a 20% gratuity for DINING-IN! Not your parties amount, but just EATING. That's it! We had three extremely well behaved kids and two adults at a huge round table, the food tastes like a salt-shaker isn't even used once and I have to make a small down payment afterwards? No, thank you. How extremely disappointing. Truly. If you look for 'brunch' spots this place comes up along with a few others and at this point, every single one of them has been better than Toast.

Toast is my favorite for breakfast! They have such a good menu with lots of side and bread choices, and you can get a half order of any of their sweet items. They also have homemade jam - last week was blueberry bourbon. Everyone ordered different things, and everyone had a great meal. I had the fried green tomato eggs benedict with a side of their bacon fried rice and it was so good! I even took half of the sandwich home. They have great coffee including espresso drinks and service was excellent. We got there nice and early around 9am and were seated right away. It got crowded around 10. I love it here.

I was scheduled to pick up order at 11:33 AM. I walked in was greeted by the host told her my name she went back and checked and said it was a scheduled order so it would be about 15 minutes. I walked in at 11:28, which is OK but as I was walking back to my car, I got a text message saying my order was ready so I went back in the building and spoke to the same host and she greeted me again but with an attitude this time when I told her that the text message said it was ready. I'm just confused how you and tell me the order is ready and then tell me it's 15 minutes left I didn't appreciate the attitude. I do love their food but there's no need to have attitude with me I'm just ordering for pick up. Then she proceeded to turn around and walk away and mumble under her breath, which is very unprofessional.

I usually dont do reviews, however...I have to say "Squid" was the best!!! She had top tier customer service and vibe. The wait was long and there were some unexpected factors but this experience was amazing! She also made sure the food was exactly to the expectations. My second experience here. Way better because of her. The kitchen team must be a well oiled machine. I will come back and now more frequently.

Really good food, portion sizes were good too. Had some good drinks that were on special for Valentine's Day.

Always love coming to toast. Great gluten free and vegetarian options. I prefer coming on a weekday because there is no wait! Definitely gets busy because it's such an amazing establishment
