The Taco Stand Taqueria - Birmingham

This is just about one of the best tacos I've had in the Metro-Detroit area! We wandered in right around lunchtime, and while there was a huge line to get into the restaurant a couple doors down, virtually no one was around this place. They're loss!My tacos were incredibly fresh and tasty. The salsa had a pleasant kick that was just about all the spice I could handle (I am a spice wimp), but I was still able to enjoy my food. The burrito, interestingly had french fries inside, but was definitely a solid choice. Everything was incredibly filling, and we left with very content stomachs.The only drawback I would have to this place is that I'd like to see horchata on the menu, and they didn't offer tap water.... which seems incorrect. So we were forced to buy bottled water instead. This seems like a weird oversight that should be easily fixed.Still, we'll definitely be back if we're in the area. This place made tasty and fresh food that stands out to us more than a lot of the other overpriced and trendy restaurants in the Downtown Birmingham area.

First time here - my office is now in Bham and there aren't a ton of fast-casual lunch places, so I thought I'd try this out.The tacos are $3 each (small, street cart-style) depending on if you get corn or flour tortillas, and my quesadilla was $4. Pretty good prices. As someone else noted here, The Al Pastor taco does not have pineapple, which was a bummer, and was also rather spicy. The asada taco, aka steak, was good, and my quesadilla was very good.This would have been more like 3.5 stars for me except they didn't have horchata, so I had to get a Jarrito instead, because they also didn't have tap water... They do have bottled water for purchase.I might come here again if I'm craving tacos but I would probably get one quesadilla and one steak taco and call it a day, and bring my water bottle with me. It's located on Hamilton near the Emagine Theater.

Really enjoyed my California burrito here! It's a good spot for lunch where you'll get your food pretty quickly. Also the meal won't break the bank! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was pretty casual.

I'm always up for a good taco, so I had to check out this new spot in Birmingham. There's a good selection of the usual Mexican staples. My wife had a chicken quesadilla and said it had great flavor. I went for the tacos and tried three different kinds: beef, chicken and chorizo - all three were very good! We also got the chips and guacamole. The chips were average. The guacamole tasted good, but it had a lot of cilantro and big chunks of tomato, which we didn't love.Overall, it was pretty good, so we would definitely go back!

The Burritos are fire yo no cap fool. I saw the owner rizzing up Livvy Dunne. He was so skibidi Ohio grimace shake so I had to fanum tax his gyatt. The only thing that would be better is if they had the grimace Travis Scott escape plan sicko mode meal shake

One of the best taco places I've been to! The tacos were flavorful and the tortillas were nicely cooked, they weren't falling apart at all. I loved the fresh pineapple on the Al Pastor tacos!!! The quesadillas were also so well done! It came with a side of sautéed onions and a jalapeño pepper. Try the tacos with the green salsa, it's so good! Easy to order too and nice staff. You have to order at the counter and they bring it to your table when it's finished. There's free parking for up to 2 hours at the parking garage nearby, but otherwise you'll have to pay for street parking. The interior was nice and clean! We would visit again!

The bowl with pork wasn't that great and didn't seem fresh, a bit odd flavors. The taco I got tasted the same. The guacamole was delicious!

Great new addition to the Mexican food scene in the area! The ingredients are authentic, the salsas are homemade, the meats are well-seasoned, and the staff is friendly. My ONLY complaint is they don't have salt on the tables -- I like both salt and lime on my street tacos. That said, it's still 5 stars for me, and I highly recommend the Campechano and Al Pastor on corn.

LOVE this place! Had ordered tacos and burritos and they are the best. Fast, friendly, and oh so good!

Quick service! We had guacamole/chips and tacos: asada, chorizo, & pollo. The asada and chorizo tacos were very flavorful but the pollo was bland.
