The Original Ginos Pizza

The pies , the service and the staff .. you guys need to take the 85 character minimum off . People sometimes don't need that crap.. push come to shove, me personally I just quit post my opinions

Toledo pizza is a thing, and if you love it, you HAVE to love grease. Why? Toledo pizza is THE greasiest pizza you can imagine. Think pan pizza, with twice the oil. Now that we've established that, I have to say, OG Ginos is hands down THE greasiest Toledo pizza you can get in Toledo. And I'm not complaining! Because somehow, even though it soaks right through the box, and covers your face while you're eating... it's also perfect. Ginos makes a perfect Toledo pizza. Maybe THE perfect Toledo pizza?Hands down better than some of the local copycats like Pizza Cat (gross), the food is the quintessential Toledo pizza experience. And speaking of Toledo experiences, the Monroe & Central location, right smack dab next to a Hospital and in between an amazing cross-section of neighborhoods, surrounded by both affluence and poverty, offers outrageously good people-watching. Also outrageous? The service? It's truly nightmarish at this location. The people watching plus pizza waiting (seriously it will take forever) offers a great snapshot of the city, and as long as you go in knowing it might be bad (seriously it will take forever) you'll be rewarded with some amazing greasy food, but seriously, it will take forever.

Idk if I'm crazy or what but I'm from California by the Bay Area... a few people from Toledo told me Gino's was really good... I don't know I found it very ordinary... a little too greasy & not very original at all... I'm sure the owner is nice but the pizza isn't that Great pretty Basic for most. The pizza reminds me of what I had in High School. what makes pizza greasy?Well, the main reason is excess cheese. Or you may have used the wrong cheese. The reason can be excess oil on your pizza. Also, the dough can be wet and not kneaded properly. As a result, you've got a greasy pizza. yep way to Greasy!!!

Pros:*Well, the locals were right. This place was highly recommended by many Toledo residents and it did not disappoint. *Pepperoni and sausage pizzas were on point and I can't wait to come back. *service staff was friendly and efficient*the CHEESE Cons:*there was a bit of a wait for ordering in house without calling ahead, but it's because they get slammed with calls the minute they open. So it's good but definitely call ahead and give them a break*I think they are understaffed

Order taker Melissa is rude! In thinking she's efficient by talking fast and rushing you off the phone, it's really rude and disrespectful along with being dismissive. Not cool at all!

I used to order Gino's pizza back in my college days in the 80's (showing my age ). I've moved away but had to have it last night and it did not disappoint. The regular crust was crunchy, the sauce a still a bit on the sweeter side and the toppings were generous. There was a long line inside the shop, I feel like the lady working the front would probably be better suited for a different job but my pizza was hot and ready once I got to her. I've read quite a few negative reviews about Gino's. Look past those reviews!

The pizza is good for Toledo however they refuse to make simple accommodations such as less pizza sauce and are not customer friendly. A big change from a few years ago.

Whenever I visit Toledo, Gino's is on my list. Food is amazing and fresh and service was impeccable

My personal favorite pizza in the world. Crisp cheese covers the cross, the rich sauce, and the just thicken enough crust. I wish I lived in near one.

Customer service is terrible. The employee at the counter was somewhat friendly but told us bathrooms were off limits until 2pm. Told us to go across the street to Burger King or Subway. If I was going to do that I wouldn't get the pizza here. Store also no longer opens the box and shows you the pizza. Did that for almost 60 years, you approved of it before you took it home. Dining room full of boxes and employee owned items. Menu no longer posted. Was on the wall for 30 years ever since location expanded. Now have to guess what the prices and available items are. Pizza is a bit greasier the last couple of times but still tasty. Now just runs through you quicker.Quality of product over decades needs to stay at high level as does the customer service, otherwise this place will close just like all the other has beens. Fix it before you lose it.
