Pleasantly surprised at the quality and prices when visiting for dinner on a Friday night. The dining room was small but it wasn't busy. We showed up around 8pm and sat at a tall four top. I was surprised at how comfortable the chairs were, and settled into the drink menu. The drinks are a bit pricy, however the cocktails were excellently well-balanced. They aren't just bartenders, they are craftsmen. Sazerac, maple old fashion and SeaQuench sour ale. The cocktails were choice while I opted for the ale. The Maple Old Fashioned is made with pineapple rum and finished the meal. It was a nice treat. We were starving and ordered the focaccia first. It had a really nice crust with great flake salt. The olive oil was good but very heavy with strong garlic in the bottom of the oil cup. I liked it fine but a bit too much for my husband. I also ordered the duck fat dumplings. It was not as expected but still amazing. The dumplings are closer to gnocchi. 2" batons of potatoes that have a slightly chewy outside under a bed of insane medley of sautéed mushrooms with shredded duck, on a Parmesan cream sauce. This dish is incredible and rich. My partner passed on sharing it with me and I ate it all. Candidly I was sick all night and will not do that again, however, I do recommend you order it to share or take home at least half. My husband had the original double patty smash burger and a Michigan salad. Our server Brian is outstanding. There's a background on all the ingredients and you can tell that he has a lot of pride in what they do there and the chef's mission. She sounds amazing. We had a hard time deciding on what to order so we didn't order too much. We will be back to try the roasted beet salad with goat cheese and add grilled salmon, the pasta ragout, risotto, but it will be sometime before I try the Mac n cheese with short rib, as the duck fat dumplings were so rich, I will need weeks to recover. Space is large and can be loud. Live music started just after ordering and the manager lowered the volume of the dining room speaker to a tolerable level without being asked. She was paying attention. No one was enjoying the volume though the singer was talented. Very much appreciate the attention. Choice place. Will be back.

What a pleasant surprise this place was really great as far as the Pastas went. Both of them were impeccably made! a great temperature and texture and flavor. It's hard to find a great place that makes their noodles from scratch and does such a careful job of sourcing great local ingredients. Off the beaten path blink and you missed it..but definitely worth a return visit for the true foodie at heart. This is the sort of place you want to come for a comfort meal of pasta is your vibe. Server was kind lady, not into the trivia personally.. but hey I guess it's a Thursday night entertainment for some. Looking forward to trying the carrot cake. Love a place that makes everything in house from scratch!

Very nice farm to table restaurant north of Chelsea and near the DTE mountain bike trail. Beautiful outdoor seating on the patio.Great food menu, with a large beer and drink list. The draft beers are only a few craft items, but the canned selection is extensive. The food was good but too salty. The atmosphere is great and casual. Lots of people were here enjoying themselves.I would recommend this place if you are in the Chelsea area.

We have been to The Nest several times since they opened about a year ago. we have enjoyed Dinner, and their Sunday Brunch and the food was always fresh and very tasteful. The Patio area overlooking the ponds is a great place to enjoy craft cocktails or your favorite beverage while just relaxing. You can either eat inside or outside with a server providing Table service. Or there is an area Patio where you can order your drinks at the bar and take them to the patio. If you choose to sit in the self-serve area and order food from the bar, a server will bring your food out to you. Last night was the first time things seemed to be off. We arrived around 5:30 and chose to self serve on the patio. We got our drinks from the bar, and the bartender was very polite and helpful. As the evening went on, they got busier and busier, seems normal for a Friday evening. We ordered the Steak and Blue Cheese Flatbread and Caesar Salad. We had enjoyed both of these dishes previously and found them to be very good. Food came out in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately the Steak an Blue Cheese Flatbread was not even close to what we had enjoyed previously. The quality of the steak was subpar and tasteless and there was so much blue cheese on it, that is all you could taste. The Caesar was cold, crispy with lots of Parmigiana and very good. One of the servers told us the owner has recently changed Management companies doing the day-to-day operations. Sadly we counted 25 people in groups of 3-4 each, walk out, due to the wait times they were being told 25-40 minutes for a table. No restaurant in todays environment can afford to let those dollars walk out the door. In defense of the employees, there were 3 servers managing the entire food/drink areas. And they were hustling! There was also a wedding party going on, adding additional stress to the staff. If you were some of the people who came and left, I encourage you to give them another try. To the owner, I hope you can address the staffing issue, I know its difficult to find good people. And as far as food quality, keep the quality up and charge a reasonable/fair price, that is what we expect and are willing to pay, and I am sure others would agree.

We were visiting Ann Arbor and really looked forward to trying the Nest and enjoying a farm to table experience. While the service was attentive, the rest of the experience fell short starting with the plastic water cups and melamine plates. And for serving steak without a proper knife to cut it. I gave up on it. The focaccia bread, roasted potatoes and asparagus were tasty. Old fashioneds and cocktails did not disappoint.

This restaurant is located on M-52 about a mile north of downtown Chelsea. It is off the road on a beautiful piece of land overlooking a pond. Robin Hills Farm has several other buildings on the property, one of which is a greenhouse where they hold events.Anyway, was at the Nest for Sunday brunch. The menu was good, I think there are enough choices for most. This is my second time eating here for breakfast, and once for dinner. I had the braised short rib hash. It was amazing! The meat was tender and it was served on a mountain of their red skin potatoes. Came with a side of toast. I had an English muffin, which I was not wild about, but I had more than enough to eat with my hash. My friend had the spinach, sun dried tomato and goat cheese omelette. I don't usually order omelette as they are often dry. Not this one! It was perfect. Another dining companion had scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon. The bacon was crispy, which I like. The table also share a piece of the cinnamon crumb coffee cake. It was moist. They have a full bar and have many speciality drinks. Their servers might be a little green, but they were attentive. Refills on juice and coffee were brought quickly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I would like to check out their happy hour!

Yikes! Not a great experience at Nest last night! 6:15 reservation completely dragged out and we didn't leave until 8:45 pm! Almost 3 hours for what was supposed to be a super casual dinner! Server was super sweet and I think the delays were due to the bar and kitchen. Here's the thing: this is a big place! Both inside and out are oversized. But they don't have any staff! Drinks took way too long, dessert was keyed in wrong, so the wrong dessert was delivered but it was probably a half hour after we ordered it. Then the correct dessert had to be ordered, we were charged for both desserts even though we only ordered one! Let's talk about the smash burger! It's not really a smash burger. It has 2 patties but neither are thin enough to be a smash burger- kind of thick patties, not enough cheese, overall ho hum. We've been here many times. It's just ok, but it has the makings to be great. Outdoor tables are dirty, they don't get wiped off between guests. They finally have umbrellas and awnings to shield the excessive sunshine. But the food is mediocre and the service is unbelievably slow and drawn out.

To start, my wife and I did not have a reservation to this restaurant and the host at the counter still helped us and didn't turn us away. She was calm and collected even though she looked like she had a ton of stuff going on. Secondly, our server Kiley was outstanding, she was attentive to the table and kind. Kiley deserves a raise, every-time I needed something she was right there to help me.The food was wonderful my wife got the apple cinnamon french toast, it was delicious and flavorful. I personally got the bacon smash burger, which in all was put together seamlessly. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and calming, my wife and I really liked the candles on the table. Overall this experience was amazing and we will be sure to come back for dinner!
