I went here the first time during COVID season and even though the breakfast food was delicious, it felt like I was missing something, as if it was disingenuous to review it without the full experience, but I'm glad I waited until now.Ambiance: I came here an hour before closing on a Sunday, and I loved how quaint and lively Jefferson Market felt. With the bustling kitchen staff preparing entrees and the nostalgic decor lining the walls, the place could have fit right at home in Gilmore Girls or any Hallmark movie. Service: Everyone from the host to the server were very friendly and fast!Food: Wow, hands down one of the best brunch spots not just in Ann Arbor but all of Detroit. I tried the simple breakfast, the ham and egg breakfast sandwich, cafe miel latte, chai latte, and a delicious sticky-toffee pudding like dessert from the glass display. The breakfast was simple yet elevated in every way. The scrambled eggs were golden yellow, moist, and cooked right to the edge of runny which I don't mind one bit, the home fry-style potatoes were tasty with a touch of crispiness, and the sausage patty was well seasoned and springy. The real star of the show was that beautifully flakey, decadent biscuit accompanied by the jam and whipped butter. I could eat 10 of those for sure. Something I had tried previously, the ham and cheese egg sandwich was just as good as I remembered with its delicate brioche bun, savory mushroom spread, and velvety egg bundled up like a blanket. It's what every egg sammich should aspire to be. The dessert and drinks were great and had that oomph of spice really showing their expertise on display. Bravo, they hit it out of the park and fully earned the 5 stars.

Recently ate here on an early-ish Sunday morning, probably arriving around 9:30 a.m. The food and coffee were good, if perhaps a bit on the expensive end. Unfortunately, the service was downright rude and the experience turned out to be more of a hassle than anything. Like a previous reviewer stated, I'm not much of a review person. In fact, this is my first one in six years. But some experiences are worth coming out of retirement.First, my friend and I were sat at a table that was very wobbly. Very wobbly. And sure, no big deal, so when the couple next to us got up a minute or so later, we just shifted over to their table. This place is very jam-packed, and the other table was roughly 1 foot away, so I figured we'd snag it, let the server know when they came around why we moved, and we'd be great. They were not, however, great. We were delivered a sigh-filled scolding on how we should not do something like that without asking. Such naughty, naughty children! Then, they have this rule that you can only get one refill of coffee. That's perfectly fine with me, but maybe five minutes after they refilled our cups, the same very perturbed server informed us that they "needed this table" because a line was forming from other customers. We had maybe been there for 30-40 minutes? We weren't "lingering" at all. We got our food, we ate it, and we were finishing our coffee. Not quick enough, I guess. I was really surprised that a restaurant takes this approach to service, but I suppose that's why you pay (and tip!) when you order your food. There are too many other great spots around town to deal with this silliness. If you like wobbly tables and ornery waitstaff with your eggs and bacon, Jefferson Market is your spot!

Listen, I am not a review person. I enjoy reading them and using them to inform my decisions but I do not like writing them so it takes a lot for me to write one. The food and service was amazing, but what I really didn't appreciate is getting rushed out of the restaurant. We got our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering which is great, but we ate relatively quickly and spent some time catching up with friends out of town. I'd say we were there ~ 30-40 mins total and they cleared our table and then the owner came up to us and said "can I get you anything else? There is a line building up" and gave us an exasperated sigh and frustrated facial expression and body language. If we aren't able to chat with friends for an hour at brunch we might as well have gotten take out or gone to any of the other breakfast places in Ann Arbor that would not treat us this way. Secondly, if you have a small indoor eating capacity maybe you shouldn't take orders in a line and have people wait for tables to serve said food. Songbird Cafe also does a similar workflow, but has a considerably larger capacity and has never rushed me out of the restaurant in 30-40 minutes. Instead consider seating people traditionally and serving them which would decrease the stress on staff to turnover tables quickly and would make for a less disrespectful dining experience. Like I said I hate writing reviews, but I hate disrespectful people more so I had to say it.

Tucked in a neighborhood street, you'll find The Jefferson Market. Street parking. If you plan to dine in, you can't order until your entire party is present. That said, get in line anyways because once you get to the front, they'll ask you to take a seat but once the rest of your party arrives, you can jump the line. We ordered the breakfast burrito, fries, latte, and corned beef hash. After you order/ pay, they tell you where to sit. They also offered us outdoor seating but not sure where that is? The food came out pretty quick. The burrito was good but better with hot sauce. The fries were fresh cut and uniquely seasoned. The ketchup was tasty too. The hash was good and the eggs were cooked just right. The latte was good but I wish it was hot(ter). The bathroom is in the basement. Not ideal if you just ran a marathon or need a handicap accessible facility.

DELISH. I've been here for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast burrito ($10.5 - Grilled flour tortilla filled with scrambled Grazing Fields eggs, jack cheese, black beans with onions and peppers, salsa verde, crema, pickled onions & cilantro) is the best you'll have in town! It's a behemoth of a burrito and it'll definitely fill you up! I also had the huevos rancheros ($12.75 - crispy corn tortillas, black beans, ranchero sauce, sunny-side up eggs & avocado) which was good BUT I loved the breakfast burrito so much that it was hard to compete. For lunch, I DREAM of their za'atar fries. It's not because of the seasoning or the side of masala ketchup but rather just how perfect these french fries are. You can tell they're fresh, hand cut. I've also had a few of their pastries. Solid, but nothing notable. You can't go wrong! The staff has been so friendly every single time - especially when we "dined in" on the back patio. Their hours are very lunch oriented, but it's worth the advanced planning!

Very cute neighborhood spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch! If you don't live in walking distance, you definitely have to mean to go here (vs stumbling across). Street parking on 5th and 4th. Handful of menu items for breakfast and lunch respectively, which I just assume are their "tried and trues". Walked in around 8:15am on a Friday and placed an order to go, and it was less than a 10min wait. While I was there, others walked in to pick up orders that were either called in or done online prior. Seems like that's the move! I can imagine wait times would be longer during busier hours. Ok the food. We got the breakfast burrito, add chorizo and potato, as well as a corned beef hash with scrambled egg, and split both. Loved the corned beef hash! The corned beef was plentiful, with great flavor. Their scrambled eggs were soft and buttery. The burrito was good, but I feel like might sometimes be better? It includes ingredients like salsa verde, pickled onions, and cilantro, but they didn't really come through in my half at least. Overall it was soft and warm and melty but I think I was missing some of the flavor/textural elements which sound like are typically there. This breakfast will fill you up!

What a cute place! It was so beautiful to come here during early fall. It's so cozy inside and feels like a slower pace since it's away about from downtown Ann Arbor. The food was so good! Everything was fresh and high quality ingredients. And the service was quick. I like that you have to order before you sit down to prevent people from holding tables.10/10 breakfast spot!

My favorite breakfast spot in AA! It's such a cute neighborhood spot. The space itself is small and can get quite busy. You can see them cooking which adds to the charm of the place. You order at the counter and then they seat you and bring out your food. I loved everything we tried. We had the breakfast burrito, pancakes with fresh strawberries and cream, zatar fries and side of biscuit with jam. The quality and flavor were overall so good. The pancakes were some of the best I had in Ann Arbor. They were so fresh and fluffy. The biscuit was buttery and flaky. The staff is so friendly. I appreciate how all the staff were wearing masks. The prices were very reasonable.
