The food here is delicious! It's one of my favorite breakfast or brunch spots. The energy of the place is very nice and relaxed with very nice decorations. The service e is usually very fast, and I didn't feel like I had to wait or flag down a server. The pancakes are very good, love the flavor options, I went with a nice blueberry this time. The prome double double was cooked so well and was very filling. The lebneh toast was so good, definitely my favorite item on the menu, plus it doubles as a fun activity almost feeling like a brunch charcuterie. Overall I would highly recommend a visit!

Dinner review: The food took 50 minutes to arrive (no explanation, and it wasn't busy) and was not hot when it finally came, which made me think it was sitting somewhere waiting to be picked up. Fish was dry, hash veggies were raw, pasta was over cooked and flavorless. We didn't finish any dish and all three of us said we were hungry and unsatisfied afterwards.Pros: Decor, coffee and lemonade was good and they were able to seat us without a reservation on Saturday night

Great restoration on a historical building in Dearborn. It was always in need of TLC. Good service, very tastet food and reservation are a must. We had brunch and there still so much on the menu we need to come back and try. For me, I'd skip the S'mores French Toast. This was a huge suggestion from the server and my cousin but it was way too sweet for me. The lamb flatbread- I wish there was more lamb but still good. I would have it as something to share with the table and not as a stand alone meal like I did. Great coffees and teas. It's pretty loud so maybe it would be better outside on the patio next time. And a heads up - it's an alcohol free zone

This is a nicely decorated place ! It looks good and very friendly folks greeted us !The service was fine, rather slow but ok !We were informed right away of the items not available (quite a few) also no soup !The food tasted ok, not spectacular and nothing to write home about but ok !The $30 seafood on a very limited amount of Angel hair pasta was not worth the money !All in all an ok experience but not worth the money, I would not do it again !

Went for brunch and loved this place! We did not make a reservation so had to wait about 5-10min for a table, luckily it was not packed when we went and got seated quickly. There is also a coffee bar open for seating but we prefer a table. To start, our lattes were perfect and not too sweet! The biscoff cookie was so delicious dipped into the hot latte. The croissant sandwich was a little messy but so worth it! Definitely on the pricier side so I wouldn't come here regularly but it is a nice spot for a fancier brunch! The whole menu sounded great I will have to try something else next time

A lovely restaurant in Dearborn. The staff were very nice and their pastries were exquisite. If i lived closer, this place would be a problem. I had a croissant and coffee to start. I then had the labneh which was very refreshing and beautiful choice for a savory breakfast. Next time i will try the steak and eggs. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

I had the most wonderful experience at The Great Commoner! our server was incredibly helpful when trying to decide what to get, and recommended the ful mudammas to me, which I licked clean. The rest of the food and drinks were incredible as well, everything was so vibrant and filling. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Detroit!

Good coffee, great looking pastries (although no gluten free options), good frittata for breakfast, any restaurant that offers a good gluten free bread gets a star from me,The front door should be a double door to keep cold weather drafts from coming in!

My family and I went for brunch on Sunday and we loved the Great Commoner. We were greeted by the hostess and our table was waiting for us. Our server Moejo was super nice and super patient with our party of 11 people.Since we were so many people, we were able to try many dishes. The Shakshuka was delicious. Just enough spices and eggs perfectly runny. The Kale salad was a perfect mix with the almonds and quinoa and loved the sumac dressing. The Labneh platter had all sorts of rolled labneh and sides with it. We had got the Belgian waffles for the table and they were thick and golden with the perfect crisp. For our own meals we had the breakfast burrito that was stuffed to the max, the new fresh garden wrap; super fresh and a perfect veggie option, the short rib hash; very tender short rib and full of flavor, the mushroom French omelet that was better than France; light and fluffy and full of mushrooms, the makanek sausage hash; wow this was tasty and loved the sausage, and of course we had to try the pancakes that came pilled up high with ice cream; another great dish.If you love lattes, this is the place to get some of the best lattes with unique flavors. I had 3 lattes and could have had more. The first was a perfect blend of espresso and milk. The second was a lavender honey bee latte; super cute and delicious even served with a honey spoon. The owner made me a strawberry latte, wow I wish I could have one now!!. All the syrups are made on house and you can tell.Come here for good, fresh homemade food made from scratch. Can't wait to go back for brunch and can't wait for the dinner menu!! Must try place. Well done Chammout Family :)
