Good: hotel is pretty new so everything's in good shape. Nothing feels old or worn out. Gym is small but equipment is also new. In room tv is massive. Bad: avoid rooms in 620s range- They are right below the rooftop bar and you'll be part of the party whether you like it or not. Shampoo and conditioner bottles empty

This may be an ideal hotel to stay if you are a solo traveler, but please avoid if you need to reserve a room block. I've started with the Pros + Cons, then listed the issues with our room block below. To start on the lighter side, the hotel is nice and clean and within walking distance to great restaurants. The staff at the front desk were friendly, but if you have any issues with your reservation they can't do much to help. It seems only management can fix errors with reservations. When you get to your room you'll notice the wood floors, the large TV (not centered with the bed), and the (small) complimentary water bottles. Although their dinner menu was limited, in-room dining was excellent. More importantly, the towels were soft and not dry/stiff like some hotels. And they had a motion activated light under the sink so there was no need to turn on the light when I visited the bathroom in the middle of the night/early morning. On the other hand, the bathroom light turned off while I was in the shower, and there was nowhere to hang hand towels after I used them to dry my hands. In the room there are only three drawers to put your clothes in, and I noticed that you can hear when your neighbor is adjusting their blinds - it sounds as if they're controlling the blinds in your room. The rooms also require some form of carpeting as they echo. The reason behind my rating is solely due to the sales management office. I organized a room block in which I submitted three separate documents and emails where I stated that each person will present their own credit card to cover the charge of their room and any taxes, incidentals, etc. The main agreement/contract was acknowledged and signed by one of the sales managers who arranged our room block.Imagine my surprise when I check in and the woman at the front desk tells me that there's a note on our reservations that all of our room charges are to go to the master card that was only meant to hold the rooms, not to be charged per our signed agreement. I tell her this is incorrect, and she calls a manager from the back office who is unable to help, but he called the sales manager who signed our room block agreement and she said she was on her way in to fix the issue. I did not hear from her once during the duration of our stay.A couple of weeks later towards the end of the month when we needed to submit our travel expense reports, I received complaints from colleagues who stayed at the Godfrey that they'd received incomplete or incorrect receipts that didn't match the charges on their expense reports. We each had to reach out to the front desk and/or to the sales manager/ accounting personnel to have the correct receipts forwarded. This was a month long struggle that I have never experienced with any hotel, especially not one that's classified as luxury.I made sure to book our hotel well in advance for our next event in Detroit so that we will not stay here again. I have also reported this hotel to our parent company's travel agency so that not one of our companies will book with them in the future. The level of stress I endured during our busiest time of the year over a process that should've been simple was avoidable. Worst yet, she never apologized and blamed me.I am appreciative that all of the issues have been resolved, but if I could protect someone's peace who may have doubts about staying here, I recommend The Westin Book Cadillac.

I've heard all good things about this hotel after doing research so I was super excited for my stay. This is a newer Hilton hotel with an upstairs bar and city views, an onsite restaurant, and a bar right outside of the restaurant. Plenty of options and plenty of space if you want to do a staycation. The rooms were clean and the people were friendly. Double check they apply your food and beverage credits if you have them because mine were missed in error but promptly fixed. Lovely place for a couple or solo traveler.

Modern sitting on top of history. The Godfrey Hotel Detroit is a very new (August 2023) hotel located in the trendy Corktown neighborhood. Situated on the site of Carhartt's inaugural factory, the hotel integrates art pieces and artifacts of Detroit's industrial past. The location is key, steps away from so many dining, shopping, and entertainment options. The rooftop lounge provides excellent views of the city skyline. We love a good rooftop. The other restaurant spot, Hamilton's, named for Hamilton Carhartt, by restaurateur Samy Eid, offered the perfect bright & airy breakfast. Love me some elegance with a history lesson.

I stayed at this hotel and it was horrible. When I checked in, everything seemed okay, but when I went to bed, I found blood on the sheets. It was so disgusting!. I ended up sleeping on the couch, which was uncomfortable. It was very late and simply changing the bed spread didn't seem like enough.I won't be coming back here. Don't stay at this place if you value cleanliness.

Review: Poor Billing Practices and Room IssuesThe hotel was beautiful, and the rooftop bar and restaurant were great. However, the room was small, the shower only got lukewarm, and the cracked shower doors made loud noises that could be heard down the hall. The biggest issue was the billing. I paid directly through Hilton and was charged $786 for the room and incidentals at check-in, which was fine. Upon checkout, I noticed the correct charge of $586 in the app but later saw an additional $586 charge, while the $786 pending hold remained. When I called customer service, they said they contacted the hotel and were told it was a glitch, but I never received any follow-up or apology from management. Also never recieved a final receipt had to pull it up on the app. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Until these issues are resolved, I wouldn't stay here again.

A bit of a shame...I've been staying here since the location has opened and I've seen the service go downhill fast. Takes 30-45 minutes to get your car from valet. Most recently, I was blatantly ignored by the bartender. I sat with empty drinks and she forgot my food order...all to continue to sit on her phone. I later was in the lobby and saw the same bartender rush customers out of the bar because it was 10pm and she was off of work. This was the lobby bar. Finally, I sat next to an employee I saw working on the rooftop bar get intoxicated and allow a patron to rub all over her...When I look for a nicer quality place, this is not what I expected...please bring the hard workers back!
