Have the waitress/bartender check on ALL customers throughout the lounge frequently NOT just the regulars at the bar which I was subjected to

A perfect end to the night.....pairing a great cigar with a nightcap! If you know me, then you know, I have a little passion for a flavorful cigar. I do not smoke cigarettes and it's usually a special occasion, but I do fancy cigars. There is just something rich and classy about cigars; maybe its the entire experience from choosing the perfect cigar, to the preparation, and finally pairing it with the perfect drink in hand. Or maybe....it's the atmosphere that sets the stage for a romantic evening or just hanging with friends. Whatever the experience is for you, the Godfather Cigar Martini Lounge is the place to be! We met the owner, Marty, who gratuitously showed us around the lounge and helped us pick out two fantastic cigars. We like the honey tips and bourbon vanilla cigars and of course we had to pair our cigars with unique martinis. The bartender was fantastic and we enjoyed our conversations with her. We were excited to find out that live music is played on various nights throughout the week. We will most definitely be back! Marty, thanks for making our night special.

Marty, the owner, is a horrible business owner! My husband and I came in one evening for dinner and I was beyond appalled with what I observed. The owner was yelling at staff in front of customers and refused to pay them. He had it out for one bartender in particular-unsure if he sleeps with his staff but it seems that he might-scary! The bathroom had trash all over the floor and vomit on the toilet. I observed Marty leaving the bathroom, swearing under his breath, and then touching his junk and then heading back to the kitchen without washing his hands!! Yuck! When he went into the kitchen, I observed the waitstaff cooking the food in between serving tables and making drinks. They don't even have cooks! I will never be returning here and neither will my family or friends. I do not recommend coming here, seems that they need to be shut down or will be forced to in the near future.

Was here a few weeks ago, in town visiting a family member and some friends, all I can say is not a place I would NOT bother trying. The older gentleman named Marty tried hitting on my friend. She is much younger than him at lest 30 years by the looks of it. I also saw him get handsy/flirty with other employees, that clearly were not interested. Just disgusting! Not professional at all. I would give it zero if I could.

$14 for a shot of Woodford Reserve on an iceball!! Guess the expletive couplet for my feelings on that one.

I'll give it one more than one star for their ventilation. Whether it's because there is a second floor capturing most of the smoke or a truly superior smoke-eating system; I'm not certain. Otherwise, I've vowed not to drink beer from their rancid tap lines and never speak with the overly-cocky owner again. So happy that Rocky Patel has visited your shop once...puff your ego a bit more, dirtball. Gladly pass this place and it's new (sister) location on 23 mile road in Shelby. Also worth mentioning, he charges $7 to smoke your own, yet has a half respectable selection.

I've been a member at Godfather for some time now. This is my favorite place. The location is perfect and the ambience is just what I want when I kick back with a cigar. I very much like the bartenders and wait staff. Even more I like Marty, Tristan, Brandon, Omar - the key guys - they really make each visit enjoyable. They all know your name, stop and say hi and truly want to make your visit enjoyable. This is the kind of place you want to frequent and become a member. The events are great, big cigar names and really cool ways to get involved. I'm happy here.

If you're in the Rochester, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Troy area, this is hands-down the best place you can go to relax and have a cigar. Great atmosphere, tons of TVs, and a nice humidor.The last time I was there I talked to Marty, the owner. He gave me a quick tour of his humidor and pointed out new and interesting cigars (I know a fair amount, so I wanted to see what he'd point me to). Super helpful and friendly -- something that is missing from a lot of cigar shops.They don't have the cheapest prices on the planet, but if you have any business-sense, you'll understand why. It's a nicely decorated, two-story place in the high-rent district, and that's what makes it a great place to hang out at. For me it's worth paying the extra dollar per cigar to be able to relax in a nice place.

Did not have any contact with the infamous "Marty, the owner" (if he is indeed still the owner). Based on a lot of reviews, that was probably a good thing. Bartender didn't know what a Rusty Nail was but, to her credit, looked up how to make it and produced a good drink. The Martini ordered at the table was deemed very good as well. (Good enough for a second order of both). Service was attentive.Humidor was not as large or well stocked as many I've seen about town. That said, you will find a good smoke here though, it may have to be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice. (That was the case with me).Location is good for me but, many poor reviews has kept me away. Sounds like bringing in your own stick may be an issue, will have to check that out as it is definitely a deal breaker.Experience was pleasant enough to give it another go. Will report more after next visit.
