The Garden Theater

I went to The Garden Theater for a showcase event, and it was set up beautifully. Lots of vendors, food, and drinks, and good entertainment. There is even a "patio" type area outside. Looks like a great place for a show or event.

Great Venue Space in Detroit!This space is great for a wedding to a corporate dinner/party. Located on Woodward there is a parking deck guests can easily access as well as paid street parking. The bar space is large and the staff is quick to tend to guest orders. The catered passed hors d'oeuvres were great and the staff were friendly and professional. (If it is an option for your event order the southwest chicken egg rolls!)The venue space also provides a stage area with a podium and microphone if requested. And for warmer weather the space has a patio area as well!

The Garden Theater is a beautiful and welcome addition to Midtown, and to the local roster of performance venues. It's the perfect size - larger than the Majestic theater across the street, but still small enough to maintain an intimate feel. Dark, simple, and classic is how I'd describe the look of the theater. One bar stretched along the back of the room - the lines can get long for a drink but the bartenders are fast and efficient. It's a little nicer, classier than other venues of comparable size around town. The events hosted here are slightly more upscale and appear to target the mature young professional crowd. Marsha Ambrosius, a Remy Martin tasting expo, the annual Tux and Chucks black tie fundraiser, etc. I don't expect I will be seeing any raucous rock or rap shows on the calendar here. It's connected to the Grille at Midtown (which is excellent), making it easy to grab a drink or a bite before or after a show. The theater can be booked for private events, as well. In addition to the theater itself, there is a clean and spacious lobby as well as some large event rooms upstairs. Parking structure is just on the corner, but I've always been able to find a spot on the street as well.I've enjoyed my experience every time I've been here, and look forward to more shows and events at the Garden Theater to come!

Just had our Christmas party for aprox 300 ppl and the staff was amazing. Plenty of bartenders that no one had to wait and they picked up dishes as soon as they were put down. Everyone was so friendly and had a smile on their face all night. The venue itself was also great and a perfect place to host the Killer Flamingo's. Thank you Staff!

I recently got married at the Garden Theater and I couldn't have asked for a better or more stress-free experience. I did one walk through with my mother and husband when considering venues. We all immediately fell in love with the Garden Theater and booked it the next day. Most people would have thought that planning a wedding in only 6 months would be daunting, but the staff at the Garden Theater made sure that everything went smoothly. They provided other vendor suggestions when needed, made sure that our schedule was coordinated well with their staff, and were attentive the night of the event. They worked incredibly well with all of our other on site vendors to coordinate their arrivals and departures too. Both Amy and BJ were a pleasure to work with. The caterer was incredible - it was actually great wedding food and even as the Bride I got a chance to sit down and eat! The Garden Theater went above and beyond to accommodate any request we had. I couldn't have asked for a better experience because they provided everything we needed and made sure that we had the most special day. I even asked for a last minute lighting change - they made absolutely everything happen! Thank you again to everyone at the Garden Theater for all their hard work and attentiveness, it really showed and we appreciate it.

This venue has the worst bartenders!! They are allowed to actually make the customer wait until they finish a ten minute Facebook/text session on their phone before they serve you a drink. When you try to get the bar staffs attention, they threaten to not serve you??!! Fck this place, Party Dave will not be attending any future events at this location!

We just performed at the Garden Theatre with Mojo a couple weeks ago and I just wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to PHIL on the sound board. He was awesome and a pleasure to work with! It was a great event and the sound was on point, thanks Phil!!!!
