The Apparatus Room

I've been back a few times in the last few years, both for meals and for hanging in the bar area with a beverage and conversation with friends and colleagues and every visit has been great. The most memorable was the Mother's Day brunch we attended earlier in the year. We came with a group of 6 and were seated at a beautiful table in their private dining room (we weren't the only ones in there, but it was a beautiful space if you're looking for a rental). Fo the table we ordered the pastry board which was a variety of their offerings including danish, croissants, and cookies. We had a reservation later in the day so they were out of a few of the pastries but the board was still delicious. My mom and I couldn't decide on entrees so we decided to split an order of the biscuits and gravy and the chicken and waffles. Both were excellent, though I think I liked the biscuits a teeny bit more.The experience was capped off by a lovely pop up courtesy of Bon Bon Bon (selling their spring collection to treat your mama to a sweet treat) and a local florist with bouquets. Again, we got there a little later so the offerings were a bit picked over but I still thought it was a pretty neat add on for the occasion.

I brought a group of 6 to The Apparatus Room for a holiday party and everyone was greatly impressed. A couple of our friends ordered the short ribs which was really tempting to me, but it has a bacon vinaigrette and I eschew pork products. So, I ended up instead with the lamb sugo a la chitarra which was still amazing. I wanted to lick the plate. My (vegan) wife had the "scalloped" daikon & mushroom and she thought it was one of the best dishes she had ever had. Service was just a tad "relaxed" and could have been a tiny bit more attentive but it was still great. We will be back.

Went here for an employee year end celebration. I was really looking forward to it. I was a bit concerned as their menu doesn't state gluten free options and turns out, they didn't have much. Our food was done family style. A few of us had to have special meals prepared. Zero gf desserts and 1 margarita was 21.00. They added 20% tip for the drinks. Odd. I haven't seen that before, just for the meal. Each person paid their own drink tab. The atmosphere was amazing. Great detail throughout in trying to preserve the old fire house. I will end on a positive, the Caesar dressing was amazing!!! If I ever go back I'll be ordering a large Caesar with chicken and no breadcrumbs.....

Had dinner here before the Fleat Detroit pop up and really enjoyed the beautiful interior and absolutely superb service. Everything was top notch. Dishes made to perfection and very unique. Who fries celery root and makes crack? Only one disappointment.. we saw a burger walk past us but could not order it because the chef said the grill was too busy. Apparently this is a random menu item but once I saw it it's all I craved. Ceasar salad was delicious. My meat dish was a little dry but the sides, epic. We even ended up coming back to the bar after the even for more drinks and fries.

Dinner wasn't as good as I had expected and service was lacking. Probably had a lot to do with the fact that I didn't love the menu options, to be fair. It was good but not great and the server wasn't around much. She was aloof, couldn't recommend wine and basically acted like we were bugging her. Cool atmosphere, may go back for a drink sometime when in the area.

Celebrated a birthday at the apparatus room and has an incredible time! Ambiance was very bright, modern, and chic. My favorite is looking at the beautiful lights they have surrounding the bar - it lights up the whole restaurant! The food was delicious. We started with oysters and tuna tartare which were both so fresh! For our main course, we both had the striploin which was juicy and flavorful. The black garlic truffle just was the perfect touch. We also shared the lamb sugo a la chitarra which was the perfect level of spice with the Calabrian chili. For dessert, we had the peach pie with ice cream, great for fall! Our server was great and recognized that my fiance and I don't drink and had the bar send us a complimentary non alcoholic wine that had an apple cider taste to it - delicious! We also got to enjoy a complimentary cream puff dessert that was light and melted in our mouths. Overall we had a great night and can't wait to come back soon!

I stopped in while waiting for a friend and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken verde meatballs were the perfect portion for my solo lunch and the drink I had which the bartender recommended was perfectly sweet without being overly so. I'm so sad I can't recall the name of it. Its very spacious inside with a lot of bar seating, couches and tables. I will be returning to try it out for dinner.

The ambiance and overall aesthetic was great - the place was beautiful, warm, and inviting (and also super spacious). Service was very friendly and attentive. My partner booked reservations for my birthday and they were thoughtful enough to leave a little note and some free champagne to start the meal off. Food was inventive, flavorful, and reasonably priced - the boomers are a must try! I'm going to plan on coming back for a brunch service soon.

Great place to have some fantastic drinks and good food. Are at the bar. I use to be a firefighter so I love that we are sitting in an old app bay. Cocktail are exceptional and the bartenders are very knowledgeable and helpful. Just had snacks for food but it was good enough that I will be back again.

I stopped into The Apparatus Room on Saturday for an early birthday celebration and I was amazed with just how good the cocktails and food are. We sat at the bar and the service was nothing short of great, helpful, and friendly. It's so unique, chic, and cozy. We got the Lafayette Spritz and the Frida + Diego cocktails, absolutely beautiful and delicious. We got fries, *chicken fried* boomers, and cauliflower-- all absolutely amazing. The drinks and food has so many flavor profiles and truly are a work of art. The Apparatus Room is a gem and I highly recommend it for a night out and cocktails!
