Spent over $60 for food that wasn't edible. Ordered mild, we like some spice but it was wayyyyyyy too spicy. Pad cashew had 1 small piece of chicken and a bunch of sauce with no bamboo shoots or baby corn. Ordered chicken pad Thai, hardly any chicken. Ordered the peanuts on the side and they didn't provide them. Will never order here again. Tom yum soup was too spicy to eat.

I am honestly not sure what has happened to this Thai Basil location. This used to be a great place to order Thai food. My past two orders have been wrong. I order chicken pad Thai with no peanuts. The first order a few weeks ago was not what I ordered with peanuts. I tried to go back a second time and the order contained peanuts. I mentioned this to the hostess who said she took the order. She was extremely confrontational and said that I did not say "no peanuts". This was not the case and it has happened twice. Honestly avoid this location at all costs. They cannot recover in my opinion. I certainly did not lie about saying no peanuts across multiple orders when I can't have peanuts. If you have allergies this location cannot be trusted.

Got take out. I got three items from here : basil fried rice, tom kha soup, and red curry. I didn't get a picture of the red curry but it was drained from the container and leaking into the plastic bag it was put in and tied. That was disappointing bc it was just chunks of vegetables. The basil fried rice I can say was pretty good, would not say out of this world. Lastly the Tom kha soup was looking like it's not mixed well as parts of it looked more liquidified than others. All this food was about $40 and I didn't really like any of it so it felt like i just threw away my money

It's been a while since leaving Thai Basil a review. Previously, I would stop here regularly. I enjoyed the ambiance and the food. The service had always been good and it was again on my recent visit. The food also arrives quickly. There is some highlights and a bit of lowlights. The winners here are the crab Rangoon's and the spring rolls. They are both very crispy and the flavor is spot on! They also are generous with the crab filling! Outstanding! The pad Thai for me was just not that good. I have had it before and I liked it. It was too sweet, it had an odd darker color and the chicken was not tender at all. The eggs were also almost nonexistent. The vegetarian stir fry was tasty, but it almost had a gumbo consistency and it didn't not have enough veggies. Things seem to have declined. The decor, once sort of special, looks dated and a bit drab. This experience was just ok. I hope they brighten the place up and improve the food back to their old standards. It's a great location with lots of parking! They just need to share their original passion so it translates to the food and the overall experience!

I was in the area and decided to take a chance on this location. It's not terrible and it's not great. It depends what you like. The crab Rangoon has way too much cream cheese and do you need to be careful eating it as it can get messy due to the excessive cream cheese.The spice level insane! Light spice = medium and medium spice = very hot. I can't imagine how killer it would be to ask for "regular" spice !The sushi was ok. The setting looks dated. The service is good and fast. I would not be going back.

I've noticed that the Livonia location is more of a dine in experience, while the Plymouth location seems to be carryout mostly. Thai Basil is tucked into a strip mall in Novi on Grand River between Wixom and Beck near where the old Zoup used to be. The inside is beautiful, booths and tables. They do not, as advertised, have sushi. Which for us was fine. We both ordered the traditional shrimp pad Thai mild which still had a little spicy kick to it. There were plenty of medium size shrimp in the dishes. Bean sprouts and crushed peanuts on top. It was quite delicious, We had to stop ourselves so we could take the rest home. The server was friendly and the food came up quickly. Great experience!

Thai Basil did not disappoint. Medium spicy is SPICY!! Beware. Service was excellent. The restaurant was busy so you know the food is good. We ordered various dishes. They do close at 8:30 on Tuesday not sure about their hours on others day so check before heading in. Service was friendly and fast. Eel and cucumber rolls were very good. Place is clean and spacious. Attached pictures and what dishes we ordered. ENJOY
