Terra Kitchen & Cocktails

My fiancé and I visited Terra on a Friday night. We strolled in without a reservation. We quickly found a spot at the end of the bar and ordered some drinks and bites to eat. We had a very good experience as this was our first time visiting Terra! What I love about Terra is they are not "trying too hard" to be something they are not. I love that they have a combination of good food and atmosphere but also have a huge bar with ample TVs for sporting events. It combines the best of both worlds! The music was also on point with a mellow electronic music that was not too loud. The atmosphere overall was fantastic! The wagyu pastrami and spicy tuna crispy rice were stand out food items!! Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. I will definitely frequent Terra and recommend to anyone who loves good food and premier atmosphere!

Great new place in Birmingham. We had reservations for 6 of us. The only thing we didn't love was sitting in the booth, other than that everything else was great. We started with some apps: beef Wellington bites, crispy spicy tuna, calamari, and the prosciutto flatbread. Everything was delicious! We had their espresso martinis, would recommend! For our meals we had a little bit of everything, I had their lemon chicken... was delish! Along with their fattoush salad, also good and fun to break open! We finished off with some desserts, the carrot cake was just ok. But, their kronut, must have! Look forward to visiting again!

New opening in downtown Birmingham in a former club venue. Mostly empty but modern and spacious. Ahi Tuna Nachos Crispy wonton, avocado, jalepeno, green onion, watermelon radish, spicy mayo and eel sauce. Only Fair... there's simply not enough fish and it's almost an afterthought. Wagyu Pastrami Carpaccio Arugula, red onion, crispy capers and shaved Parmesan. This reminded me of deli meat and deli sandwiches. Really lacking flavor. Modern Fattoush saladRomaine and iceberg lettuce, cucumber, pomegranate, tomato, onion, radish, malts, covered with an impressive delicate pasty shell. Presentation was great and the salad was pretty good. You don't see this often. Sausage CampanelleSpicy Italian sausage, smoked Calabrian, sausage, cream, Parmesan and Romano cheese, chives. The most complete dish here that met expectations - zesty flavors that blended well with the fresh pasta. Out of this lineup, I would only order this one again.Service is solid, I think they need to explore better menu items however. That's all.

Terra is new to downtown Birmingham. It is an upscale cocktail bar, low lighting, modern, with the now popular neon signs nestled in greenery (and the also now requisite flat screen TVs that in my opinion do not fit the rest of the decor). The vibe is definitely Birmingham, if you feel it, then you'll enjoy Terra. We were not able to get a reservation for a Saturday a week before, but risked it and were able to grab a couple seats at the long, marble bar. Though it was a busy Saturday night, the service was still good at the bar. While cocktails have become pricy these days, we thought their specialty cocktails were overpriced at $19-23. They did have some standard cocktails a bit lower, but I found their French 75 to be disappointing. Terra's menu is a good size, modern, and eclectic, ranging from English to Mediterranean to Japanese inspired. We shared a few apps and truffle fries. The fries were not really fries, more wedges, and absolutely fantastic. They were crispy outside without being greasy, just the right amount of parm cheese and truffle. The beef Wellington bites were good, but a bit dry, and I'm not sure they would be good without the gravy. One of the bar tenders recommended the carpaccio and the hot honey flatbread, both were very good. Overall, we enjoyed the food and I would return. They also have a side room with longer tables for bigger groups.

The service was warm and inviting, the space is beautiful, and seating was comfortable. Our group ordered a few apps to share - Beef Wellington Bites, Calamari, and Lettuce Wraps - all were nice and tasty and they came out fast. For dinner, two ordered Steak, one ordered the Lobster Tacos and one ordered the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl. No complaints from those who ordered the steak and lobster tacos. The poke bowl needed a little love. First, it's advertised as a sushi rice bowl. Sushi rice has a very specific shape, texture and mouthfeel. What was in the bowl was very dry regular white rice. Then the sauce was described as a "sriracha infused soy" - it tasted more like ginger soy and there was a lot of it. The bottom third of the bowl was swimming in sauce. Overall it was a great place to catch up with friends and we had a great time. We would definitely give it a second try.

From top to bottom it was a great experience. The hostess was kind and sat me right away. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. I would describe as clean, cool, and trendy. The staff were super nice Bella was our waitress and she was super helpful and sweet! We loved the food everything was just amazing! Definitely wanting to go back. It would be perfect to go to the movies at the Palladium and get some yummy food right next door at Terra gotta tell the hubby for our next date night!!

The place is beautiful. Bright. Clean. Lovely atmosphere. The food was good not great. Definitely a nice place for lunch/dinner. Our meals were tasty but not outstanding. The drinks were crafted beautifully. Would come back if in the area.

The space is beautiful. Very open and welcoming. We sat by the bar which had really bright lighting and not the most attentive of service since our waitress was also the bartender. The menu has a wide variety. The spicy margs were really good as well as the beef wellington bites, tuna nachos & crab crispy rice. The rest of the food lacked salt and seasoning. It all tasted fresh but just needed a hint more of flavor. Overall good addition to Birmingham.

I've been twice now, and the food has been amazing both times! It was very busy both times I went, I would definitely make sure you have a reservation if going for dinner.The crispy rice is SO good. I have had both the spicy tuna and avocado and they are equally amazing. Also, have the tuna poke bowl and the crispy chicken Caesar, both were a 10/10. Very fun and beautiful drinks. The staff is really nice and the place is beautiful! Definitely recommend.
