Telway Hamburgers

I go to Detroit frequently and have made sure to go to Telway Hamburgers each time I am there. I don't know quite what it is about those burgers with the steamed onions, mustard, and ketchup but it all just works. I am not even from Detroit but the smell of this establishment is nostalgic and I visit once a year or so. I wanna say Detroit or the Midwest is the home of the small steamed onion burger renaissance.

Telway hit the spot, late night eats in Detroit. You order inside at a take out window of a cute little white building located off Michigan Avenue in Southwest Detroit. The food was served up quickly- unfortunately they make it one style: how they want. There were mess-ups on each order. Be sure to check your order before you drive away! The food was delicious - this is a Detroit staple. Give it a try!

My absolute favorite food after a night out. Everything is so cheap, greasy, and salty. It's perfect.I usually order thru doordash so I don't have to wait there, as there's not much room. Definitely worth a trip. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

I've eaten here before and enjoyed it. It's pretty much White Castle. The problem was they are so unorganized at night. I'm not sure if it's new ownership or what. They have no clue what they're out of or who ordered what. I ordered and waited about 20 minutes. I watched them say there were out of things and not refund any money. I watched them fumble through food not knowing who it went to. In my case, after 20 minutes the guy asked me what I ordered again. They had lost or it or given it away. I gave up and walked away.

Telway is a longtime Detroit staple. If you want a fast, cheap, and greasy meal, you can't go wrong. 4-Pack Hamburger ($5.49) - Soft griddled burgers with a streak of pink through the center served with ketchup, mustard, soft onion and pickle, then steamed with the pillowy bun. Not as greasy as some of the other slider joints around. The patty itself is quite small and only fills maybe 2/3 of the bun. It's the most classic Detroit slider. Two, or maybe 2.5 of these is similar to a normal sized burger. Not really much else to say, if you go here, you know what you're in for.I mean, it's not the best food around, but sometimes you just want something fast and easy to eat.

Best sliders ever. Been going there for 60 years. They even have great deep fried hot dogs.

Best sliders. Always fresh and tasty. Can't beat the price. If you've never tried them I highly recommend this place

The hamburgers are one of a kind, and their coffee is to die for! Definitely worth the stop. The service is great and there is a minimum waiting time for your order. Keep up the great work Telway!

Good and service we're great! Will be going back, with the kids as soon as possible. We got the burgers and french fries.

Simply DELICIOUS. The best customer service. Tasty food. Best ever, chocolate swirl shake, OMG period.
