Taste of Ethiopia

It has been a long time since my last visit. Too long! Great Ethiopian food! I had the meat combo for one person (one meat and two veggies) and got a half-order of the split pea dish too along with an Ethiopian coffee. All excellent!

I was torn on what to rate them. The food was good. The EIGHTY minute wait AFTER we sat down for our group of 8 was not. We ordered four of the vegetarian platters and all had the exact same thing. The injera was much more sour than I've ever had, it was zingy tasting. I much prefer it at the other Ethiopian restaurant I go to. The staff was friendly but that wait was completely unacceptable. You would think that after such a ridiculous wait we would get a discount or dessert. Nope. ***it has been so long since I'd been there that I actually forgot I reviewed them before. I did not pick this restaurant, it was for a family birthday dinner.

The lamb was very good. The Injera was different. It's an acquired taste. The service was good. Very attentive. The atmosphere was inviting.

I always drive by this restaurant and love Ethiopian food, so I stopped by one day with some friends and am so thankful that I did! We came in for lunch on a weekend and were seated right away without any reservation. The server was incredibly kind and helped walk us through the menu and checked on us regularly. The food was incredible and the flavors were delicious. They had really solid portions as well. Definitely looking for a chance to come back again!

This was our 2nd time. We always look for a good Ethiopian food anywhere we visit and this location is absolutely on my favorites! We ordered two types of lamb meat and they were so delicious..!! We ate inside before and it was really nice as well. It was fun to learn Ethiopian language from the menu. I highly recommend Taste of Ethiopia to any food lovers who's adventurous!

The food here was very good. I went here with a friend today, I hadn't had Ethiopian food for quite a while - the last time was Blue Nile, in both Ferndale and Ann Arbor.It was a bit hot today and they didn't have the A/C on. My friend and I split an order of the sambosas, which is basically samosas, and they were very good, albeit a bit spicy. I ordered the meat combo, with beef stew, green beans and carrots, plus the squash. My friend got the veggie combo, which lets you choose 5 veggies, and I tried most of them (3 lentils, potato, and collard greens). My favorites were the beef stew, potato, and squash. Waitservice was just one waitress but she was very friendly and got us water refills fast.Overall I'd come back here again - I'd probably get the beef stew, potatoes, and maybe some lentils. Only caveat is the price - the veggie combo is $21.50 and the meat combo is $25.50.

We love Ethiopian food and decided to give this place a try. Absolutely spectacular and the flavors were amazing. We are vegetarian and know that they have great selections. The staff was phenomenal and very attentive. They brought over continuous amounts of the bread. They weren't very busy and the atmosphere was nice. Had a great cultural African vibe. We will return again.

Loved the food and service it is highly priced in comparison to all of the places I've been to before which is quite a few. Food 8/10Service 10/10However I've also never gotten hot town service before a mea at those places. The fresh pressed juice is great and being able to customize my veggie plate.It's very cute and quiet I definitely recommend just size up in portions.

This was my first experience at Taste of Ethiopia and with Ethiopian food in general. The food was pleasantly nice although it was the environment/service that stood out. The place had a serene vibe and I enjoyed the music and the overall ambience.I found the coffee a little underwhelming for the price ( and the fact that you could place a minimum order of 2). But my friend said the Ethiopian beer was great :)

Food and service were great. I had a meat and veggie combo and it was delicious. The service and ladies that worked there was very friendly.
