TAP Sports Bar

We stopped here for a quick meal between arriving at the hotel and leaving for a show down the street. The line to get in was long but moved quickly, and we were in and out within an hour. We just had chicken wings and pretzel appetizers. The wings were some of the best we've had in a long time, and although the pretzel wasn't as soft as I'd hoped the spicy mustard more than made up for it. Our cocktails were okay, my husband had the Hennessy Old Fashioned (which had a lot of liquor and not much of anything else in it), and I had the Tap Green Tea with Jameson (which was delicious and refreshing). Overall, this was a convenient spot for a quick bite and we would visit again!

We wanted to watch some sports after game in Ann Arbor so tried Tap at MGM. Great venue to watch, had sound on for Ohio St game, makes sense. Food was good, no issues. Had side salads to start, liked the Caesar a lot. Bro had the nachos, good amount of food and basically nachos. Not bad not spectacular. I had a few chips, thought they were good for sure. I had the Hangover burger and it was great. Bacon was well done and egg was perfect. The fries are freaking perfect. Crunchy and hot on arrival.Quick service as we sat at the bar.Good spot for food and watching sports.

We waited an hour for a mediocre experience. Half of the restaurant was empty and I understand why. I had a burger and fries which was just okay. The bun was soggy and the fries were lukewarm. No catsup on the table. My old fashioned had more soda in it than alcohol.

Great staff and very attentive. Good choices came out great. The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. My friends traveling with me said the mixed grill was perfect. Hearty, yet healthy. With it being in the casino, it's a very cool location.

I'd like to start off by stating that Anthony the server, is an amazing one. My sister and I came in nearing 11:45 PM after a concert. We had noticed that Anthony was the only server, with 6 plus tables. And he ran his butt off. We gave him an $11.00 tip for a $31.00 bill. He deserves another server helping him out. I'd like to mention their Hostess as well, I didn't catch her name, but I believe she is pregnant. She was very stressed out working the front, having to tell customers they needed to wait. I heard some customers give her a hard time and she kept composure the whole time. The inside is very bar like. It's connected to the hotels casino, which is good for business for sure. It's very clean, simple, and has good space between all the tables and chairs. The music is not too loud, which is important. However, you won't like it here if you don't fancy loud people. It's a casino/hotel/bar. You're going to get drunk people here and there. The food was good. Not amazing. My sister and I both got their burger. Which had no flavor, the first thing that came to mind was: "Why is Five Guys better than this?". It tased like un seasoned ground beef. However, their fries were amazing, and so was their ranch. But my main entree was a 5/10. I would not get their burger again. Overall, this location is convenient for hotel guests, and casino guests. I wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant. But I do appreciate their crew that's working at 12:21 in the morning. The lack of flavor in the burger is what determines my 3 out of 5 star rating.

I went to MGM to celebrate a family members birthday. We all (Party of 10) at at TAP Sports Bar while we were at the casino.I liked the ambiance of the Sports Bar, flat screen televisions all around, but it wasn't super loud, and actually the vibe was just laid back. Our waitress was very attentive and very nice! There were no issues with the wait time of everyone's food, and the food was good. I was eyeing a family members order of Fish and Chips, bc it looked good! I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. The next time I'm at MGM Casino, I would go back to TAPS Sport Bar. I liked the vibe, and think it's a cool place to meet for drinks and food.

This is the first time I've had an AMAZING experience at TAP. Normally, I dread foing ro TAL due to the poor slow service. However, today we met MARTINE and she's the BEST server we've had!! Please, please, do everything to protect her at all costs. She had made our experience today refreshing with her upbeat attitude and exceptional service.

Yummy! Highly recommend the fish & chips. My spouse recommends the chili. Lots of beers to choose from. It took a little while to get a table. Other than that, I would eat here again. If you eat later at night, it's easier to get a table. Back to the food...excellent fish and chips. Loved the red tartar sauce. The fish was perfectly cooked. Fries were good too. Plenty to share. The chili was excellent! My spouse said the meat was fantastic! Seasoned perfectly.

Royal run around. The last time I visited TAP back in November 2024 i was subjected to discriminatory treatment. I would normally visit TAP maybe twice a month or so. The last and final time I was there in November 2024. I was told by chef Phil that I needed to move from the seat that i chose to to sit in because I was disrupting the flow of traffic for the breakfast buffet. The request to move struck me as rather odd. Particularly, because that is the same seat I sat in over the last 3 years that I have frequented TAP.After speaking with an attorney about the incident. I was informed that there appears to be some racial discrimination that has occurred. I have contacted Chef David Bugeja, to no avail. After waiting for a response from Chef David. I contacted Las Vegas. Also to no avail. I then contacted a Johnathan Wood the next person in the chain of command. I was told by Johnathan Wood that he would conduct an investigation to verify the facts that I laid out to him. However, It has been over a week now and no response. I have been trying to contact the next person in the chain of command Chef Joel Kuhn.What is baffling to me is how does a restaurant that operates in the heart of Detroit that has a predominantly African American population treat its African American customers so poorly. Then there is no accountability. Most of the staff at TAP is African American except for the managers. Just from the outside looking in it appears the whole restaurant is built on racial discrimination. I will not let the treatment I received while at TAP be swept under the rug as if what happened to me is not important and does not need to be addressed. I will not go quietly into the dark. The only thing that will make this right is financial compensation for being treated so poorly. If you are African American don't go to this restaurant and expect to be treated with dignity and respect.February 3rd, 2025In addition to my review above. No one from MGM Management staff Chef Phil, the offender, nor his supervisor Chef David Bugeja, Nor Chef David's immediate supervisor a Johnathan Wood who gave me his word he would look into my accusation and get back to me in a couple of days. now going on two weeks and counting still no word. He has yet to honor his word by contacting me either by phone, or email. When I spoke to Johnathan Wood I asked for his supervisor who he identified as chef Joel Kuhn. I Left a message for Joel Kuhn to call me so that we could discuss my issue. However he also has not returned my call. I interpret this lack of response as the proverbial "sweeping my issue under the rug". Obviously I'm not being taken seriously. So i will continue pointing out that MGM TAP is a breeding ground for discriminatory treatment to its guests that have the same skin color as me. I have pictures that show other people sitting in the same spot that I was told that I could not sit in because it turned Chef Phil's stomach.

Honest everytime I eat here I get sick the foods disgusting and doesn't sit well with my stomach it's not the first or second time and I'm honestly upset and disturbed
