This place presents some positives and some negatives. The negative...they have a rather nice dining room and present as a dine in and carry-out restaurant but do not offer complimentary water to their dine-in customers, you have to purchase bottled water. Now, I am not picky, I would take a small plastic cup of water from a community carafe in the center of the restaurant, but to not give water on a hot day with sodium heavy food seems rather unacceptable. This is especially true after spending more than $70 on food, to not give even a tiny cup of water seems like a money grab. 2Perhaps this is more of a carry-out restaurant. The food was not bad and came with huge portions. There were four of us, we had a few sushi rolls, they were pretty good. We had chicken pad Thai, Japanese fried rice and chicken, and General Tsao chicken with fried rice. There was so much food, it was the equivalent of about ten meals, which I like a large portion that provides some value. The food was tasty, but the pad Thai was not quite like traditional pad Thai. Someone else mentioned the noodles, they are not your typical style noodles that we are used to. The General chicken was good, but could have been a bit crispier. The fried rice was good but could use a bit more flavor. That being said, I would probably come back for a carry-out.

Tai Fai always satisfies my sushi craving! The rolls here are also very reasonably priced and generously portioned. If ordering online, they also separate raw from cooked rolls should you have a specific preference. If you're looking to branch out but still prefer fullyCooked rolls, I recommend trying the calzone, it's unique for sure!

Tai-Fai is my go to Asian restaurant. It doesn't matter whether you like Cantonese, Thai or Chinese, they have a wonderful selection of cuisine that is always hot, or cold as in sushi and delicious and served quickly. Whether you dine in or take out you simply cannot go wrong. They have generous portions and always have a nice smile to greet you. The decor is simple yet elegant so it feels good just to sit and have a good meal. Bon appétit!

First time here. Fresh and delicious and generous portion and I love the lunchtime special pricing. I got the teriyaki chicken stirfry and I will be back. Truly, Asian fusion and a comfortable atmosphere to eat so I did even though I got takeout.

Tried this location today. Had been a fan of the Oak Park location back when I lived there in 2012-2014. So happy to see business is doing well enough for a second location in Waterford near where I live now. Not surprisingly, the food is still great & the portions are huge. Great carry out- this location has a very nice building with room to dine in as well.Edit: I wanted to also say Congratulations to Tai Fai on this new location & continued success! I remember walking into the Oak Park location when they had just opened. I was greeted so warmly by the lovely staff there and the food was delicious and always affordable. The staff at this location were equally warm & lovely. Support them!

Finally! A place closer to home that does baked avocado. Delish!!!! Their dragon roll, Philadelphia & Cali are good today. If you order through Door Dash, it's really well packaged including cups of soy sauce instead of packets & whipped wasabi.

This is an elegant looking restaurant with good quality Japanese food!I usually like cooked sushi and I was delighted that they have a bunch of options. I ordered crab crunch roll and salmon skin roll. Both tasted fresh and flavorful. I especially liked the salmon skin roll. The salmon skin was very crunchy as if it was toasted. Both sushi rolls were gigantic- about 2 times bigger than the usual ones. The raw cost of this entire plate was only around $14. This would cost $20+ at other restaurants that I went. Very decent portion for the price as people say on here.I went there on a weekday late afternoon and it was not busy. My food was served pretty fast. And as people say here, they don't serve water for free. There's a fridge of bottled water and drinks by the order area that you can purchase.I'd be coming back here to try other cooked sushi!
