Sweetwater Express- Detroit

Sweetwater Express does a good job with bringing the taste of Sweetwater Tavern closer to home but there have been times that only wings and fries are available. It's carry out only. No ambiance at all. Service is polite. Some like to debate that the express location wings don't taste the same as the downtown location. The taste is there but I can admit the chicken is more red in color and gives more buffalo wing flavor. Nonetheless it's still delicious to me.

I have been to the original Sweet water location downtown where you could dine in but now they have several express locations. This sweet water express only provides takeout food orders with no dining in. We came to the restaurant to place our order but there were no menus posted on the wall or any paper menus to view. We viewed a menu online and placed our order with the window clerk. She was kind and personable. The restaurant was really hot inside and it was a small space so we waited in the car until our food was done a short time later. I got the burger and it came with fries. On the menu we viewed it stated that the burger came with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. When I got my burger it had all of those items and onions on the side but there was also cheese and bacon on my burger. The bun was toasted with butter. The meat seemed to be fresh and not frozen and made to order. The burger and fries were good. The fries were hot and seasoned well. The restaurant does not sell drinks but they have a vending machine in the lobby with soda, water and juice.

I tried this spot twice before writing this review.I want to like it. I really want to love it. Sadly I don't.The wings were decent tad salty but not a deal breaker.The problem for me is the sides. The first order I got rice and beans. Just blah!! Clearly the chicken got all the seasoning as the beans and rice didn't. Second order was roasted red skin potatoes.. WAY over seasoned. From one end of the spectrum to the other. Both times I ordered I was given the wrong sides and had to go back. Highly irritating when your on lunch break.

I chose to eat here a few times before posting a review hoping the folks here would get it right.Sadly, the quality of the cookery at this location is poor. I truly enjoy the original pub location downtown, so I thought the experience here would be the same.I've ordered a Sweetwater Burger on two occasions and also steak bites last evening. The beef in each order was overcooked. Half the order of the steak bites were more like beef chips, and cooked so long that they weren't edible.This location is in close proximity to my family home, it would be nice to patronize it, aiding to the viability of the neighborhood. However sadly, I won't order here again.

No one ever answer the phone. It's like they only do door dash orders. Walk in the restaurant after calling for 15 minutes with no answer. They got music blasting in the back. Ask the lady why they not answering the phone she looks me straight in the face and doesn't say anything.

Sweetwater wings are the best! My coworkers and I came here for a quick bite to eat and it was delicious as always. I kept forgetting that we have them here near work, so coming in for a solid meal was a pleasure.This place is carryout only, so there's no seating available. Kind of a bummer because I live no where close to the place, and they literally have one table available for you to stand at. They also have a flat screen TV going, so you can stare at the TV while you wait for your food.The wings here are delicious, and haven't had anything better before or since. I know my one coworker has tried other dishes, and he says they are good as well. I tried some of the fries and they are awesome as well!Only downside is that they are carryout only. Prices are decent but not cheap. The guy who rang us up was hard to hear and understand, but it was also a bit loud in there as well. I will return in the future!

I called in during lunch time and ordered the lunch special. The special includes a half order of chicken wings, seasoned fries, & a drink. I picked up my ordered 15 minutes after calling it in. I came in and there no other customers waiting in line. I didn't have to wait.

The Sweetwater restaurants have the best wings when you're in the mood for a change of pace. However, this location needs a lot of improvement in customer service. My husband placed an online order which included sides of Mac and cheese, redskin potatoes, fries, and their famous wings. When he arrived to pick up the order, the food was not ready after waiting 30 minutes after placing the online order. They were out of Mac and cheese and redskin potatoes. Instead refunding his money, the staff member told my husband "I just doubled up your fries."The order was placed around 8:00 pm. My husband was furious because not only did they screw up his order, they half ass tried to make up for it. We didn't want extra fries. That's why we ordered the roasted redskin potatoes. They gave him regular roasted potatoes that were OLD. Now the restaurant closes at midnight. Its 8pm. Nobody had the common sense to make another batch of the sides? So instead of being a restaurant and preparing new dishes, they just throw other crap in folks bags that doesn't even equate to the monies paid in advance? Please make it make sense. My advice is to call ahead to see what's available before you place your online order. If you have the patience for that. Otherwise, go to the downtown location. The 6 mile location is an overpriced shit show.

Terribly rude customer service, left feeling very disrespected and invaluable after spending $18 on wings and fries. And to top it off, the food was burnt and salty

Ordered on DoorDash no chicken I'm pissed off bad and I'm 6 months pregnant this is so disappointingUpdate the lady I spoke with on the phone was very nice and she fixed my order for me
