Suzy's Bar

I just love Suzy's Bar, especially on FAT TUESDAY. This little bar is a staple in the Hamtramck, a neighborhood Dive Bar. If you are able to make it down for this special day, I would say it is a Bucket List Item for things to experience in Metro Detroit. Last year, I was introduced to this CRAZY DAY and we couldn't wait to do it all over again. Be prepared for cramped spaces and a whole lot of friendly people. We enjoy having a few beers and engaging in the silliness. There are quite a few bars to visit, but Suzy's is one of my favorites. We can't wait for next year.

Stopped on Easter Saturday to get my SiL this Tshirt.Okocim was added pleasure!!!!!!!!They had home made Polish food for the patrons. Smelled like the Polish Gramma's kitchen.

First and only time visiting Suzy's, I could tell it had great potential BUT- all the seats at the bar were full, so we ended up at a table. im not sure anyone knew or cared whether we were there. We even had trouble ordering at the bar. - no one was playing the jukebox, so there wasnt any music playing. - at least 1/2 the people in the bar were smoking. i forget how much i hate the smell of a roomful of smoke.Again, its hard to review on one visit and it was apparent it could probably be really fun, but my 1st impression was less than stellar.

Pretty sure I'm required to make this 5 stars because it's a neighborhood dive bar. What is not to love? If they hand you a cold beer on request and there's good conversation to then it doesn't get any better. The bar is set pretty low, pun intended. They exceed. Matt the bartender on Saturday was friendly, and funny. We came in after going to Revolver, that fine dining pop-up jazz. Luckily I was very underdressed at dinner so I was only semi overdressed here. I declared I was an out of town noob, I was welcomed at the counter nonetheless. Got to try two Polish beers I never had and left happy as a prison escapee.

A Hamtramck institution for years. Suzy sits right on the edge of the muni lot that serves Polish Village, Polonia and the local businesses on Jos Campau. Great little dive bar with friendly people, Pbr and an old school juke. No bigger than the size of your living room and dining room. Inexpensive drinks and awesome dollar t shirts with slogans such as Polish Girls Gone Wild stamped on them. Very laid back atmosphere. Open daily. Open late. Have fun.

Local favorite!!! Many fun nights here. Lots of regulars and a must stop on the Hamtramck tour.

Suzy's is your typical Hamtramck bar. It's cheap, chill, and just comfortable. You do have to buzz in, but don't let that worry you. It's definitely a regulars bar, but you'll be treated well.

Absolutely loved the guy behind the bar with an earring, he made the experience. Good, affordable drinks. Super interesting environment (loved the ladies bathroom). We'll be back!

Great local bar. As stated needed to be buzzed in. Once in the items on wall are great. From Pee wee Herman doll to Twister ! Ultra friendly bartenders and 6 beers and 6 wines for our group came to $48!!! Enough said.
