Sunrise Coney Island

A really swell place to eat on the Sunday after church with your family. I have been going there for years. I live just right down the road. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants to have the family ambience of a nice hole in the wall restaurant.

Wally on the flattop grill a true legend Downriver wows the man got mad skills. He claims every year to be 39 , I say double that. Waitress shouts orders across the room, he does his magic which you will Love . Spotless clean old school retro diner truly a hidden gem stuffed in the corner of a shopping plaza you must visit. Always superb daily made Soup today Unstuffed Pepper Soup spot on delicious . Had the Classic Detroit Coney Island Hotdog and couple of Omelets, Hotdog Omelet and Greek with Gyro Meat and Feta Cheese OMG Wows outrageous very best ever eaten. Many regular customer they know they order and name how cool . Super cheap mega portion of food will have you going back for more. Note CASH ONLY, We've been a dozen times over the last 20 years always same great service and food you just gotta Love this place.

The food was good; chili fries are better than any in the vicinity. Place reminds me of Duly's in Detroit. Would have given 5 stars but when I was at the register to pay on my last visit, I was helping my kids get a sucker they offered to them, and the waitress helped the people behind me instead of me, even though my money and bill were ready in hand. It's pretty rude to go literally over someone's shoulder to assist customers BEHIND in line. I may be physically diminutive and have a youthful appearance but I am still a paying customer who is respectfully and patiently in line at the register. I may go again, maybe not, but if I did I'd go to another server's area. It's just rude and dismissive of parents who aren't even holding up the line to help people behind them. They just couldn't reach the basket, they weren't taking long.

This place is the BEST place for Coney Dogs and Chili Cheese Fries, I have tried other foods and they are also really good but I just LOVE the Coneys here and the service is top notch and high quality, the owner is also the cook and he has been the owner for over 30 years. There coffee isn't weak it's just right. CASH ONLY though and the prices are really good on every item. I go as much as possible when I'm in Taylor.

This place is a little gem. The owner, Wally, is an older guy who won't stop working and retire. He is really nice and can sure cook a solid breakfast! I usually get the Greek omelet or the two egg special with bacon. Don't let the outdated, slightly dirty look of the inside deter you. It's good clean food and he has a passion to cook.

Eaten there many times, Never had a bad meal ...excellent choice of soups ...friendly service ..love the tuna peta ..fries and the soup salad .everything is fresh....

I didn't like how my food was cooked and it was slow,the waiter on her job delivery drinks when she see that's half way gone

if you plan on going for breakfast with kids? this is not the place. they didn't attend us with our three kids. we sat down and the server approached us and said we usually don't attend kids. then we asked if they take debit then said no only cash almost like they didn't want our service. great way to loose new costumers

Best breakfast in town. The food is perfect and the waitresses are super friendly. Great prices definitely budget friendlyz

This is a place that you might miss its in a strip mall near Ace / Aco but if you have a chance don't miss eating there. The Owner is usually on the grill and watching him cook is a treat ! Breakfast is always spot on great staff and food !
