Sumo Japanese Grill

Sumo is a takeout restaurant that serves good quality food. I ordered the Hibachi Steak with salad, fried rice and noodles, mixed vegetables, and a side of garlic butter. There was enough food for leftovers, making it a delicious alternative to the typical takeout or fast food places on Ford Road. Don't make the mistake of walking in to make an order and expecting to get food in 10-20 minutes. It can take 45 minutes for them to fulfill an order. I order online expecting that it will take at least half an hour before my order is ready for pick-up.

Just a heads up before going that this is a small takeout only place. I appreciate all the stuff that came with the meal, so the high price point is more worth it (lots of noodles, fried rice, and veggies along with soup or salad)Unfortunately, my beef was super tough even though it was medium rare. Quite an accomplishment, but not a good one!I tried some shrimp from my gf's entree and that was a lot better.The noodles were okay. They just used linguine noodles rather than Asian lo mein noodles, but flavor was decent.In my opinion, the chicken fried rice was the best part - it was hibachi style fried rice with butter in it, like you'd get at Benihana. It was flavorful and delicious! I probably would've given this a 4 if I had the shrimp, but I'm glad I know that the beef should be avoided. While I wouldn't be opposed to eating here again, I don't think I'd actively seek it out.

Tried the original Sumo in canton again. The food is good but the service and wait times are less than perfect. I called at 4:40 to order a chicken fried rice and a side of shrimp. I was told or at least understood the pickup time to be 5:15. When I arrived I was told that it wasn't 5:15 it would be ready at 5:50! I full hour and ten min wait no thanks!!!

Always greeted when you come in, fast service with good food makes for an easy lunch or dinner.

This is one of my kiddos favorite spot to dine in when it comes to Japanese fusion. They recommended this place as it was my first time visiting. The dishes were sort of rice bowls with a choice of protein and a scoop of Lo-'mein style noodles or vegetables. We went with all the choices of beef bowl, chicken bowl, and shrimp bowl. I enjoyed all the dishes as the meat was very well seasoned, especially the beef and shrimp. These were all to go orders, as no dine option was available at that time. Masks are required and the business took good steps towards Covid preventions and safety.

Food is always good. Good service too. Been here many times and never an issue. Wiil be back.

We've been visiting sumo for some time, the last three times we came, I noticed the food doesn't have any taste now, it's like they just throw the food on the grill and cook it, I'm noticing a decline in the food taste, I think they lost me this time. I'm not big on giving review, but the deserved one today.

Great take out, chicken fried rice with yum yum sauce is a must. Large portions give enough for sharing or left overs.

Food is always good, the issue is how long it takes to get the food. I understand restaurant business as I have worked at a very busy restaurant myself. No where else have I ever had to wait an hour and 20 minutes to get some food. I cancelled my order today, a few minutes after placing it, and was notified it will take 3 days to receive my refund, which is crazy to me. This place needs to do better for the amount of customers they service.

So bold there's literally a bug in my salad I ordered habachi rice with a salad the habachi was really good I went in for my salad and there's a bug I don't recommend the salad
