Starter's Bar & Grill

I went here for a comedy show.at Toney Roneys. The parking was terrible. I ended up parking across the street. It's best to park in a well lit area in the area. You had to cross through the restaurant to get to the comedy area. The restaurant had a bar and seating. There is a $20 cover charge per person to get into the comedy area. I would recommend cash. The phone swipe device did not work. I was told to go to the ATM and that did not work. I was then told to go to the website and pay. That was the best option and it worked. I ordered shrimp and salad. The shrimp was good. The drinks were definitely strong. The comedy left more to be desired. It was not very funny. The staff was great and friendly. Overall it was ok.

Stopped in this local favorite spot for some dinner with family. Now if you are a resident of the metro Detroit area you have been here at least once in your life. This is the original location and there are now two other locations, one in the Wayne State area and in Southfield. *Sidebar....there used to be one inside of Fairlane Mall but it has now been closed for a while but it was where me and my husband went on our first date together(we are about to celebrate 12 years of marriage next month!!)This was a Saturday around 6pm when we came and it was a nice crowd but we were immediately seated at a table that had not been wiped clean so I asked the hostess/server if she could get someone to wipe down the table. I guess she got mad because I asked her to not place our silverware packets on the dirty table and she never came back lol! So another server(I forgot her name) came and wiped the table down, apologized and greeted us and asked if we wanted to get any drinks since it was still happy hour while we viewed the menu.So we ordered our food and drinks and some of that good bread they have! As the gentleman was approaching our table with our food in his hands he did the biggest yawns all over one of the plates!! And when I say mouth wide open, it was wide open!!! We all didn't even know what to say, so my family member who's plate it was just risked her life and ate it anyway and didn't complain. So my other family member ordered nachos but her food didn't come out with the rest of our food, weird right! We all ate our food and still no nachos lol the server apologized and we asked for a manager I think his name was Dontae, he took her food off the bill. They did eventally come out after we were putting our coats on. Now I have to say my t-bone steak, my fried shrimp and my salad was good. The other food was also good and I love their zip sauce. The complaints: The floor was dirty near the entrance, the ladies restroom needs to be tore out and completely remodeled(I was scared to use it). The music was so loud at one point I heard one of the staff scream to turn it down. The condiments on the table were all basically empty. Would I go back....sure I would because it holds a special place in me and my husbands heart lol! We just pray that owner cleans up those certain areas.

The food was dry unfriendly people no music floors nasty and the bathroom is dirty so nasty blood all over the seats and employees wiping their noses with their hands and passing out food so this is my first and last time coming here

I visit this location often and can usually count on pretty decent service and very good food. The atmosphere fits the bill for a friendly neighborhood bar. There are TVs all around playing the latest games and typical banter every time I stop in. The bartenders are always generous with their pours and my favorite is the frozen Tito's lemonade slushy drink. The menu choices are vast and the food tastes great. Whether you're in the mood for salad or a full out surf and turf meal, this is your place; with everything in between. Oh and let's not forget to mention the garlic bread! If you're in the area, you should check them out. You won't be disappointed. They have other locations downtown and in Dearborn, but this is the original and in my opinion the best of the bunch.

It's 11:23 am and the business opens at 11:00am why would I wait a hour for the fryers to warm up to get fried shrimp‍ we got to do better people. You want support , we want quality service , and starting with the food. I'm not saying don't go , just don't go when they open. Waisted time .

I am out for the next 6 weeks from surgery. I have not been able to eat anything for the last week. I told my family that when I can eat I wanted some steak bites specifically from starters on Plymouth. Today I got my steak bites. Too much beef for my first meal, and my stomach hurts.. BUT IT WAS SOOOO WORTH IT!!! They never let me down! I have an extremely picky pallet, and these steak bites do not need anything (no sauce no salt, nothing). It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Thank you so much. I'm so happy. I'm sick but I'm happy. About to drink some vernors, take a Pepcid and lie down... but soooo worth it!

Prepare my food in the professional way almost everything for you. Are you had to eat it? It was great was fast. Service wasn't waiting alone time. Treated me with courtesy.

The prices are very affordable. I was AMAZED at the quality of the food. This isn't typical bar food. Everything I tasted was delicious. The cat fish bites, fried shrimp red snapper. The portions are HUGE. Tensy was our waitress. She's the BEST!! Great customer service, knew the menu & gave good suggestions

Pros: Food came on time. Sever was great! Cons: Dined in yesterday, ordered appetizers and an Ontre that included Steak, mashed potatoes and a salad that I was unable to eat while dinning in. Heated up my food this morning and there was a long strand of blonde hair wrapped around my steak. #PISSED. The women with all that hair flying around should be made to wear a hair net!! #Management #do better

Terrible. Undercooked. Macaroni was hard and had a weird smell. Overall, it was a waste of money.
