The food is nothing to write home about.It's okay and my first and only time eating there I had a modest burger .This is where it gets interesting ...the BATHROOM .I was at the urinal and heard the toilet flushed, what appeared to bethe cook brushed pass me without washing his hands, how atrocious !After Covid you would expect people to be more sanitary .

One of our go to diners in the area. The food is always delicious and they have great homemade soups and chili which is comforting with the cold weather. The ambiance of the diner is very homey, artsy, and fun! We love how the children's menu "art" changes with the season. The serviceIs always extremely fast and friendly. They treat you like family! My go to is the turkey dinner but honestly I've never had a bad meal there. Highly recommend!

I've been back many times for breakfast/brunch since my initial review and the service and food has been consistent. I tend to order egg dishes (mostly omelettes) and have never been disappointed. The Peasant, Western, and Country omelettes are my favorites. I also enjoy the corned beef hash and the Eggs Benedict. The portions are well-sized and the service is friendly. As noted previously, however, it is not a large place, so you may have to wait at peak times.

Amazing! The cranberry walnut bread is the best I've ever had. It has all the flavors that compliments the chicken salad. I typically ask for slightly toasted and add lettuce. I'm not even a fan of nuts in my food lol. But this is worth every penny.

Wow! I love this place year round!! The food is made in house fresh by people who actually care, and you can taste that in the dishes! Always a tremendous selection of soups & chili's in addition to sandwiches, salads & hot plates! The service is so kind & excellent they make you feel right at home while you eat your home cooking:). The ambiance is classic neighborhood homey warm. Also don't over think it, save room for there delicious desserts!!! Go there, eat, you'll be so glad you did!!

Everything about Ye Olde Side Street Diner has been exceptionally prepared, cooked, always served with a smile, and a touch of local banter that makes you happy from the minute you're seated. Staff has gone out of their way every time that my wife and I have gone there. The meatloaf dinner is where it's at!!! However, the old school Patty Melts are killer. Soups of the day, have flavor throughout, and you better make sure you save room for cake!!! The Vanilla Caramel cake will give you a toothache it's so sweet. I think the other one was a strawberry/lemonade cake or Strawberry/vanilla cake that just knocked the socks off me!!! Too cool for school. So, skip school for the day, and head down to the SSD for a stellar meal. 2 thumbs up, and if the Creator had given me more thumbs I would add 2 more to this review. Straight up, this place is the cat's pajamas !!!Bon appétit !!!!!

My wife found this place years ago and it's one of our favorite small diners! The food is beyond excellent, whether it be breakfast plates, sandwiches, or some comfort food dinners! Their rotating pies and cakes make meal decisions difficult because you always want to add a slice for dessert! It's small, but not compact or crowded. It's great for kids and their service is always excellent- they really seem to enjoy their jobs and talking with people!

This has always been my go to spot when I visit Grosse Pointe! It is friendly and fast service with delicious options and a wonderful ambience. The decorations are fun and the booths and comfortable. There is also a great desserts selection. The chicken quesadilla special is a new menu item I tried, and I loved it!

Super cute and Doris approved 4.6Sat outside. Was greeted within two minutes of sitting which I love.Had everything we needed including an umbrella to block the sun. There is a basket of extra napkins, salt, pepper, things of that nature on the table. We didn't feel rushed. Started with chips and guacamole, which was delicious. The bowl was lined with lettuce which I don't necessarily like but everything was very fresh.I also had a cup of clam chowder- it was made with love.And we had two wraps to go both yummy. I do recommend.Street parking as their parking lot is under construction until end of July. This is perfect for a lazy lunch or something delicious but not fancy oh, and well priced for everything plus 20% tip the bill was $58 dollars.
