This is a hidden gem in Detroit, located behind The Siren Hotel. It's also our second time at this establishment.The place is super cool, the bartender 'Wolf' makes an awesome Bourbon Mule. His service and our time there was exceptional.The next time we are near the area, we will be back.

Doris approved 4.8Sid Gold's Request Room is tucked away in an alley off John R. You wouldn't know what it was unless someone told you but it's a beautiful classy, hip, piano karaoke and lounge bar. My favorite drink here is a hot toddy believe it or not. It's fun for an after work cool thing with co worker or even better for a group friends night out. With Sid Gold's mood lighting... a perfect place for a date! Oh! parking is street or lot parking. Around tons to do within walking distance! Have fun and enjoy yourself! Highly recommend!

Overall, this place is a fun time. The bouncer does seem to have a stick up his you-know-where, and made us wait even though we had a reservation. Maybe they were cleaning the table? I don't know -- they could've definitely shared some info. on why we were waiting, but didn't.Inside, it's a fun party vibe. The piano guy does a great job at keeping the mood high and at making everyone sound like a better singer than they are. They could definitely have a better system for lyrics than the awkward scrolling on an iPad during a song, though.Service was a bit on a slow side and the wine list was honestly really bad -- a bunch of grocery store wines marked up at 300%+ over retail. They also kept reminding us about the 2-hour limit, which was tacky and annoying... "yes, we know we only have 45 minutes left" ... "yep, got it, 30 minutes"... "omg yes we know we have to leave soon!"If I was rating just the karaoke part, I'd give it 4 stars, but the rest of the staff made it a less satisfying experience.

My friend and I had a ball at Sid Gold's! We were looking for something fun and unique to do after going to dinner nearby, and live music karaoke is right up our alley. We made a reservation even though it was a Wednesday night, and the room is pretty small so I would recommend making one. Unfortunately, ahead of our visit we received some off-putting texts detailing all the rules (like 2 hr limit) so I admittedly went into it with low expectations, however we didn't end up having any problems. Perhaps they are more strict on the weekends or we just had a good hostess - either way, I'll definitely be back for more good times! The piano player was awesome and the room felt more like a little community with everyone singing along and laughing together. My friend and I tried a few cocktails (e.g., espresso martini, Hemingway daiquiri, etc.) but they're pricey and just ok. Go instead for the music & good times!

Loooooooved it! We had so much fun & were amazed by the list of songs! The crowd was fun. The piano player was so talented. The service was good...and they even had a decent Chardonnay ;) I will definitely go back!

This place is overpriced trash with a horrible host/bouncer to get into the main room with live music. Came here after a wedding to get some drinks with the wedding party and they said they would set up a table after we gave them a final headcount but that never happened but he kept saying it would so we just ordered drinks at the bar while the bouncer gave us dirty looks and a hard time for inconveniencing him somehow. I honestly can't believe he's in hospitality. Will never come back here, thanks for nothing!

This is probably one of the best places I've been. We came as part of an SAE conference, and the bartenders were excellent, Stefan the pianist was superb, and the atmosphere was excellent (the drinks were good too, but just finding good drinks is a lot easier than the good service provided here). This was the second year I've came here, and it was equally good each year.

NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN My girl was here last night with a big group of her friends. After two drinks she had to be driven home, she was obviously drugged this is not something that has EVER happened. Bartender working name was Karen, brown hair, mom bod, not sure who was serving tables but BEWARE NOTSAFE FOR WOMEN

Absolutely amazing time in the piano karaoke room. Drinks were great and the servers were wonderful! If you want to do karaoke, make a reservation because space is limited.

First of all, this isn't my first time at syd golds, but this time is my first time with "Stephan" and he's an actual dick. You want to talk about having fun and singing karaoke...nope this guy judges for how much you spend and tailors the amount he puts into song based on how much you spend. We went up there thinking we were going to have fun and he made me feel more insure about singing on a stage than I 've ever been. Honestly i'm disappointed. Do better.
