Whenever I visit Detroit I have to have Shields pizza . It's always so fresh and perfectly crisp.

Was here recently for a farewell celebration for a student in our program and was quite impressed! Not my favorite Detroit style pizza, but service was friendly, food was solidly good, and the bartender was surprisingly good for a pizza joint! Have had much worse cocktails at much fancier spots in Detroit. Overall thought this was a very good visit - will have to come back to try more of their stuff!

Excellent service from Amelia! I enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the outdoor patio. The small Margherita pizza was delicious. I really enjoyed the fresh garden salad too. Homemade ranch dressing. Located on Woodward Avenue, right across the street from the DIA, in the heart of the museum district. Great location.Fun music playing outside on a speaker, cutting down the noise from the street traffic. Lots of umbrellas and shade.

We wanted to experience some great Detroit-style pizza. And that, we did!The place has a sports bar & grill vibe. Staff are all very friendly. Chill vibe overall. The food was very good. From the antipasto salad we got to start off, to the classic pepperoni pizza, everything was fresh and flavorful.I can see why this place has won awards for their pizza. It's truly one of the best pizzas I've ever had (deep dish or otherwise). Top three in my book.Eat here!

Service, food and atmosphere checks all boxes here! I was immediately impressed with the stunning beauty of this place, but to be taken care of immediately and eating delicious pizza took it to the next level. But what impressed me the most was the owner. He is so attentive to detail and very involved at the restaurant. That's a lost art in most restaurants these days. Not only did he ask every table how they were doing, but you can see the passion in his eyes and you can see he genuinely loves owning this amazing pizzeria. Detroit style pizza is where it's at. Only at Shields!

Best pizza in the city. Extremely crispy and cheese crust. They do karaoke on the weekends unlike a lot of places. Incredible food, always hits the spot.

Server,Lamond was very good. GM was inviting and "represents" well. We both had burgers, they were excellent. Location across from Qline is very easy and convenient.

Gooey, soggy, raw, heavy, wet pizza. Way too much heavy thick cool cheese, extremely undercooked. No clue who prefers this style of pizza. If it's Detroit style that's fine but at least cook it until the cheese is bubbly brown. Extremely unappetizing, we put in the broiler once home to cook it longer.

My family and I were staying at the nearby Inn on Ferry Street and stopped by Shield's after a Lions game. The pizza was great and we had friendly service. There's not a lot open in this area and we were really happy to find it.
