Sheila's Bakery & Taqueria

Great tacqueria and market. It has been awhile since my last visit. I enjoyed a great California Burrito (carne asada, avocado, grilled onions, french fries, cheese, and chipotle sauce) along with an Agua de Pina to drink. Also took home a bounty of Mexican sweets. One of my favorite tacquerias.

Oh wow, this was legit some of the best Mexican cuisine ever. I had chiliciles with huevos, and my best girl got the Cubano torta. We ended up taking home 2 pounds of carnitas and torta buns as well as chicharons, guess who had a great dinner tonight. You have to try this gem of place.

Sheila's is a nice little shop with typical panaderia breads, a meat counter, small groceries and most importantly of all, a full taqueria. I stopped in to pick up takeout for a quick weekday lunch. There were two people ahead of me in line and a phone order was called in while I was waiting. Seems like a healthy business. I got the following: California Burrito - This is a surprisingly good rendition of a proper California Burrito. A tightly rolled 10" tortilla filled with a good quality carne asada, guac, french fries, chipotle crema, onion, cilantro and cheese. They even have it wrapped in wax paper, although they cut the burrito in half instead of leaving it whole. The only thing it's missing is the pico and the fact that it's only like 1/2 or 2/3 the size of a normal one. Does Sheila's beat out a proper California burrito place in San Diego? No, but it's great for the Midwest. Carnitas Burrito - Interesting construction here. Instead of the cheese being with the rest of the ingredients, the burrito is rolled first, cheese is added to tortilla flap, then the entire assembly is griddled. The burrito is filled with a good amount of Mexican rice, cilantro, onion and meat and was properly rolled. The menu says it has beans but I wasn't able to detect any - perhaps they forgot them? The carnitas were just okay in my opinion. It seemed like they had been soaking for a long time in the rendered fat since the grease was leaking all over the container. I think this burrito could be improved by adding sour cream or crema. One thing to be aware about - they charge a 4% fee for credit cards which I didn't see displayed anywhere. I would definitely go again to try their other menu items, maybe for some tortas and a non-carnitas burrito.

Yes I agree with a lot of the consumers that they say that this is our authentic Mexican food. I was really surprised that the rice is like homemade and taquitos flautas. It was crunchy and the sausage did they use our fridge and the taste is like being home.

OH MY GOD THESE ARE THE BEST TACOS IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! NOBODY DOES IT BETTER!!!! Service is amazing and you really feel like you're in Mexico when you sit inside. Also the pricing is just perfect! 10/10!!!!!

Bet you don't know Sheila's the Biggest Bestest Mexican Bakery in Metro Detroit with 4 locations. Detroit, Melvindale, Waterford and Pontiac making the very best Mexican Bakery goods. Number one Tres Leches Cake they sell thousands each month, Melvindale open 5 years has Bakery, Meats and Restaurant that packs the place daily. Taco Tuesday only 13 Bucks dine in or take out gets you 10 Tacos, traditional in two Corn Tortillas topped with Onions and Cilantro. We ordered ten half Campacano mixed Steak and Chorizo and Al Pastor OMG a must try. She had the large Steak n Cheese Quesadilla always a winner. I picked a outstanding Holloween style Concha that's Mexican Sweet Bread. A few dozen large takeout orders filled while eating inside, Yes very popular a place you must visit. I passed by this place this morning, figured to try it out. It was just choking.They got high quality homemade food, very generious portions and reasonable prices.Both ladies were there had a great customer service.This is by far my favorite Mexican food.

The small restrarant was excellent.The food was great and the tacos were the best me and my dad ever had. Had a huge selection of baked goods and the store as well Definitely be back again for the third time soon they had excellent guacamole and the steak on the tacos was so tender.

No point in asking for extra anything when ordering carry out smh. Can't even write down which pambaso has the extra jalapeño don't even think they added it.

Food is excellent with great prices, freshly made and brought to your table. The Jamaica drink is very good as well
