I really like this place!! Had the Butter chicken with garlic Naan and it was absolutely delicious!!! Very good and efficient service. Food came quickly and was nice and hot and so tasty. When you walk in...the fantastic smell just surrounds you and I mean that in a good way. Definitely will be back!!

Update review:I came back twice for the buffet after not having a good chicken biriyani take out. The buffet was really good! I give high ratings for their buffet options. The chicken variations with butter chicken, chicken gosht, chicken korma, and chili chicken. Allll sooo good and has its own unique taste. I'd come here multiple times over. MULTIPLE BUFFET TIMES!! Lunch during the week, weekend and on Saturday night! Definitely a unique option that other places don't have. It's absolutely family friendly with a pleasant ambiance and seating. The staff were super considerate about how many times to come to the table and were kind and pleasant without being interruptive during a mouthful of food. I've had places that asked too many questions LOL while I was eating so I have a weird pet peeve on that haha. My gf and I loved it :)

First time ordering from here! Got a DoorDash since it's nice and close to work. I was cravings some tikka masala and this place hit the spot. Definitely need to order hotter next time as medium didn't have any heat, but with Indian food I'd always rather play it safe rather than sorry. Not much to say, everything was fresh and tasted just how tikka masala should! Big pieces of garlic naan to go with! Will be ordering from here again and trying other dishes as well.

I wouldn't even give this place one star, but I have no other option. You think you're walking into a South Indian restaurant, but you're not; this is a Bengali restaurant. My sister got the Hyderabadi Masala Dosa and I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa. We have never tasted Dosas this bad. The potatoes were stale, the tomato chutney was more of a bland tomato paste, the mint chutney was watered down, and the sambar lacked flavor. The food - which didn't taste South Indian - was so heavy in turmeric that my lips and fingers turned yellow (see last image). Also, they give you unwrapped straws that they personally touch with their fingers. We barely ate the food and when we explained to the manager why, he didn't even have the audacity to comp us. His poor excuse for the awful food was that they were busy catering to too many people during lunchtime. So we paid full price (plus tip - which I now regret doing as I'm writing this review). Very disappointing experience and a waste of money. Also, hire a new manager/PR person. The one we dealt with literally went around surveying people about the food and his standard line to customers for the sorry food was, "We've taken your statement as a lesson learned and will definitely improve our system." I'm now seeing that this line was also mentioned to someone below my comment a month ago. So, I guess, not much has improved.

Love going to buffets. Especially ones like Shahi Palace. They offer a dinner buffet is served every Saturday from 6pm-10pm and features 32-40 different menu items. You'll find all your favorite Indian dishes, plus a few surprises! So, every Christmas I go out to eat and try to find a new place to try. My friend and her husband suggested we come here, and I thought, why not? Pulling in, the place is in a shopping center literally on the corner of 15 mile and Dequindre. Walking in, the place is well decorated and felt great. While not a huge space, they did a great job of making use of it with tables and the buffet off to the side in the back.The buffet had vegetarian and non veggie dinner options. I stuck mostly with the chicken dishes and let me tell you the food was good! Not only were there plenty of options, but everything was labeled so I knew was I was trying in case I wanted to order it individually in the future. They also had a separate bar area for the yogurt sauce and a few other toppings. My only complaint was the yogurt sauce was runnier that I would have personally liked. There was plenty of plates and a server checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Made sure we had drink refills and all that good stuff. The food itself was fabulous and the naan was fresh and delicious. Overall I had a fabulous meal here and would gladly return in the future.

We got carryout and ordered the chicken Tikka masala which came with rice and naan. The Tikka masala is my favorite of all local Indian restaurants. It's not just a sweet tomato sauce; it has complex spice flavors that make it stand out compared to other chicken Tikka masalas. The front staff was prompt and friendly. The price is also reasonable. It even included a 10% coupon for our next visit. Needless to say we will be back.

After seeing 30 5 star reviews on Google, I was super excited to try this restaurant out, as I have been on a search for good Indian food, but I should have known better than to trust Google reviews.First of, the restaurant claims it's fine dining, but it's far from fine. It is clean with table side services, but it's very casual. The staff was very friendly, but could definitely use some training. The young lady taking our order wasn't able to answer any of our questions, so what seemed to be the owner came to our table to help out. As for the food, most of it was underwhelming. I will say, the portions are a good size and between 3 of us we had plenty of leftovers. The chicken 65 was super crispy and chicken was tender but barely spicy, just had a slight kick of heat (which I personally enjoyed more that way.) The Chicken koorma was pretty good; the sauce was creamy and it was well seasoned. The naan was pretty basic, so no complaints, but nothing special. The chicken tikka masala tasted absolutely nothing like tikka masala; it wasn't even the right color, it was soo light, almost yellow, and super bland. When we brought it to the gentlemans attention he said they made the wrong item, it seems to be butter chicken and he offered to remake it, with extra spices; He said the more spicy it is the more color it will have. Upon receiving the remade order it literally looked and tasted the same except it had a more smokey flavor. Again, unlike any tikka masala I've ever had, to which he said every place makes it different, and while I completely agree, they always have the same base taste; this wasn't even close. They recommended the shahi special chicken biryani and it was quite bland as well; I wouldn't order it again.We ordered the Gobi manchurian (dry) and ended up receiving a very saucy dish, like curry saucy. Later, as we were giving feedback on the excessive amount of sauce in the dish, the gentleman admitted that they messed up this order as well. He said it got messed up in translation with our server, but it was the gentleman we ordered that item with. I specifically pointed to the picture of the dry Gobi and said that's what I want and he confirmed that was the dry Gobi. He apologized, but didn't remove the item from the bill and it was double the price of what we ordered. So not only did we receive the wrong order but we were overcharged. Too bad we didn't realize this until we left.This restaurant opened just last week so I'd recommend giving it some time before you try it out, OR come during their lunch buffet so you can try a variety of items and stick to what you like from there. There's definitely potential for this restaurant but also lots of room for improvement. I'm glad they were open to constructive criticism.

I came here with a few friends a few months ago hoping that there was finally a desi restaurant in the area I could become a regular at. Sadly, I left disappointed. We ordered a variety of dishes ranging from Gobi manchurian to biryani, and so many of them were complete misses.The waitress was not aware at all about the menu items and was not able to help answer any questions we had about dishes. We ended up ordering the shahi biryani, gobi manuchurian, chicken korma, tikka masala, chicken 65, and some naan. The chicken 65 was cooked nice and crisp without being dry inside, but could definitely use a lot more spice. The chicken korma wasnt bad, about a 7/10. Everything else, I would pass on and not order again. The tikka masala was unlike any tikka masala I've ever had. The color was closer to butter chicken (completely yellow), and while I know every restaurant makes their dishes differently, being desi and having tried the dish countless times in my life I can assure you what was served was not tikka masala. When we pointed this out to the owner, he admitted that they had accidentally made us butter chicken. They remade the dish for us, but it tasted exactly the same to us the second time around as well. As for the gobi manchurian, we ordered the appetizer version that is meant to be served crisp. The dish we received was drenched in chili sauce and soggy. When we provided the feedback that the dish would have been nore palatable had it not been drenched in sauce, the owner admitted that they had put in the order for the entree gobi manchurian with gravy accidentally (which was also double the price) instead of the fried appetizer. Despite the error on their part, they did not remove the dish from our bills and we were charged for the entree version.I am open to giving this place another shot in a few months and hopefully they have a more efficient process of order intake and prepping their dishes by then.

This was a delicious restaurant, beautiful and clean! The staff was very attentive and made fresh naan for us to have during the buffet. They had a wide variety of items in the weekend buffet and the flavors were bright and strong! Highly recommend and will be coming here again!
