El Senor Lopez is, in my opinion, the best pure Mexican restaurant in Detroit. I say this because they have a huge variety of selection, their prices are incredible, they keep great hours and they specialize in items many restaurants around here screw up.Their pork in green sauce is incredible as their verde topping is extremely flavorful and isn't just some drab, sweet sauce they stick on the pork. Also their Shrimp El Diablo is awesome as the sauce is again, flavorful and packs a kick Their Menudo is the best in the city. I'm a huge Menudo fan (and you should be too as it's a great hangover cure and health item) and theirs has a thick broth, is full of flavor and isn't overloaded with hominy (which I hate). They are open from sun up to sundown and have breakfast lunch and dinner. Their staff is extremely pleasant and it's just a nice restaurant to spend some time at and enjoy your food (or drink). This has been my go to spot for almost 3 years. Go check it out!

Super nice restaurant. Great service. The mole' dish was exceptional. Not a big restaurant. Good parking.

Ordered through delivery. Prices are very decent. The Enchiladas were okay except I prefer ground beef, and these came with shredded beef. Chicken is also an option. The sauce is a little tomatoey and needs to be better seasoned with garlic and onions. Rice tasted like fried rice. Beans were good.

The waitress charged me way too much money for a lunch dinner and a chicken quesadilla. I told her to take a five dollar tip but on my receipt, it was only a dollar tip. My food was supposed to be coming up to 12 something and I found out there was a charge for 17. Something on my card never going back..

Señior Lopez is our "go-to" spot for conchinita pabil. It is so juicy & flavorful, we haven't found a place who does it better. They recently renovated the inside and it looks great! The service is always impeccable, and the food is always delicious.I grab a bottle Coke to start, along with their fresh chips and salsa. The queso flamedo is a cheesy, tomatoey dip we enjoy while waiting for our amazing pabil tacos & pabil quesadillas. I can't even explain, you must go give it a try! You will dream about them for the first year. They're addicting! The rice and beans are great, but the perfect ending is the tres leches the have on the menu coming from Mexican Town Bakery! Señior Lopez is hidden on The Michigan Avenue strip in Southwest Detroit. You will miss it if you aren't paying attention! It's a tiny little gem. Their take out is on point.

My first time dining here was when I attended a funeral next door. The food was authentic tasting and flavorful, however, there was an overpowering smell of bleach/disinfectant in the whole place. So strong that it burned my throat. Thinking it was a fluke, I tried twice more. Same great food - same overpowering disinfectant. I would have given 5 stars for the food and great service but the smell drops the score down exponentially. Too bad.

They have their own parking lot at least. Dingy looking spot but it could be a gem of a hole in the wall spot. They had a chain to let us into the dining area. We were allowed in after the waitress asked if we were here to dine in or carry out. Plexiglas for carry out orders and by the back counter too. We ordered two mandarin jarritos and the waitress brought out the sad looking corn chips and two small ramekins of salsa, which also looked rather lifeless too. The corn chip I had was stale. I had my husband try it in case it was just me. He said his chip was stale as well. It was likely the whole basket. I couldn't believe their corn chips they gave us were totally stale, beyond stale and that they had even given them to us. We had ordered some Mandarin jarritos, didn't touch them after the first bite of their corn chips. My husband and I refused to eat here if the corn chips were this bad. I wasn't going to tell them why, but decided it was important for them to know that their corn chips were stale. We informed the woman behind the counter as well as our waitress. Our waitress looked at us dumbfounded, as if that were impossible. The salsa is also terrible, tasted like watered down tomato sauce. This place was disappointing to say the least. Luckily we weren't far from Mi Pueblo and reverted our plans to go there, since it's consistent and reliable and good.

Thank you, Senõr Lopez, you made a homesick Texas girl very happy tonight!I just moved here a month ago and have yet to try any Tex-Mex here and most times, Senõr Lopez is marked as "too busy" on the delivery apps, but tonight I noticed they were part of the pre-order dinner specials on Uber Eats where you get free delivery and can pick your time for delivery. Firstly, my order was beautifully packaged and arrived warm-ish which is good since it's a little chilly today. I love that you can order one enchilada or one taco as a side and that's what I did and also got the chicken fijitas with rice and beans and a side of flour tortillas. The Al Pastor taco was delicious, as you can tell from my photo, it barely latest long enough to get snapped. High quality meat, perfect seasonings, perfect corn tortillas. The cheese enchilada was not quiet up my alley, but there's certainly nothing wrong with it, it had high quality cheese and a nice tomato sauce. I just like the other kind of enchilada sauce. The real show-stopper were the fajitas: high quality meat, perfectly cooked and seasoned, good amount of bell peppers and onions, rice was almost as good as my mom's and certainly better than mine, refried beans were excellent, I'm actually going to save most of them for a bean and cheese taco tomorrow. Also, the flour tortillas were fantastic. They actually arrived a little undercooked but I just finished them off on my comal and they came out beautifully. I'm so glad I found my little slice of home and can't wait to try their other items like chili relleno, flautas, and green chili pork. And next time, I'm getting at least four of the Al Pastor tacos! Note: they are a Pepsi shop so for real authenticity, you need to have your own Mexican Coke or Dr. Pepper on hand.

Not Tex-mex so do t expect ground beef but the shredded beef is reminiscent of a guisado and very flavorful and tender. Three different salsas all home made. The ranchero was vibrant and pleasing. Two of us dined for $15.00 and are stuffed.Open at seven am, this will be the place I pick up breakfast tacos for my team. Will be back often.
