A coney island with a warm, clean, friendly atmosphere. I especially liked that behind clear glass you can watch them making your food if you choose to do so. The pick up and carry out has its own area of convenience for quick service; that does not disrupt the restaurant and those dining in. We had 2 servers. One in training. They were both pleasant, professional and discreet.I ordered a bowl of chili with all the fixins. Instead of them trying to pile it all on top. It was comfortably brought on one plate as sides.Will revisit.

Came for a quick dinner and had the grilled chicken breast dinner. The meal came with a side salad, choice of potato, pita bread, and rice pudding for dessert. My meal was huge so my server wrapped up the rice pudding to go. Service, food and experience were all top notch. I will be back.

If You want to step back to a time when you went to the local Coney Island and enjoyed the comfort food you loved as a kid or teenager when things were simple then this is the place for you. I've been to lots of Coney Island franchises but the do it right here. I can't explain it but I felt happy from beginning to end. Great service, great food and great location. The place was clean and they do decorations for each season which is a nice touch. I had the BLT and French fries this last time. It was so good and healthy portions didn't hurt my feelings. The manager walked around and visited each table. He was friendly and you could tell he was interested in the customers happiness with the dining experience. I'm happy to recommend you give them your business and you'll enjoy the service and delicious comfort food.

I love getting the strawberry pancakes and bacon here! Getting it to go in the mornings is quick and easy as my food is always ready in ten minutes! I love how they fold the strawberries into the pancakes.

Stopped in for a quick dinner before heading to a party. We were seated right away around 6pm on a Saturday night. I was amazed by the amount of kitchen staff working in the open kitchen. I ordered a chili and cheese omelet (which came with toast, but you had to pay extra for hasbrowns). $10 without hashbrowns, seems expensive to me The omelet was cooked well and it was very tasty, the hashbrowns didn't seem that fresh. My boyfriend ordered a Reuben, which looked plentiful and he said it was good. The fries he ordered came several minutes after the sandwich (they weren't even in the pic). The fries seemed overcooked, he hardly ate them. I ordered hot tea, I liked how it was served, enough to make a second cup.

Oh no.I'm going to begin this here. I have been going to this place for decades, and it's never disappointed me. When I checked into the restaurant, I was shocked to realize I had never formally reviewed this place and was ready to write a stellar review. Senate is a great place to go to for breakfast and Coney dogs, and it's always served me well.Until now. In an attempt to be "healthy", I ordered a chicken caesar salad and watched my fiancè eat his Big Breakfast. Only a few minutes after we left the restaurant did I start to get an upset stomach. From there, things escalated and I had a very unpleasant afternoon.This restaurant has been around for quite a long time, and they've earned their reputation in the community. I'll be back again in the future. I've known them well enough by now that one bad experience won't completely ruin it for me, but I will NEVER get a salad here ever again. Somebody dropped the ball yesterday, and some cross-contamination is the only viable explanation for what happened to me.This is what I get for wanting to be healthy. I'll have your finest bacon and eggs in the future, please.

The food was delicious but the chefs had a bad attitude. Our order was slightly wrong and when the server took it back the chef started complaining. Im well aware being a chef is stressful. But when the kitchen has an open window you have to watch what you say/how you act. Either way I would recommend coming. Food was good. Just be patient with service and be careful bringing kids.

Senate has always been a great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I work near the restaurant and have been there at all times of the day. There is always enough seating so even if it is packed, you are not waiting long. Booths and tables are always clean, as well as bathrooms. You can never go wrong with any breakfast. The omelets are big, the serving of hash browns are nice. Their sandwiches are hearty. The Rueben is my favorite and full of corn beef. I also enjoy their chili and lemon rice soup. Even their salads are really good and big. The only thing that might need work are their fries. I think they need to change the oil sometimes. The color and taste aren't my favorite, but I've had much worse. Again Senate has been a staple for me for years and will always be a staple for me.
