Welcomed from the first moment we walked in. Easy entrance and large handicapped bathrooms. We had the walleye and the u10scallop special. Both were absolutely amazing. Gary, our server, was knowledgeable and helpful n making drink and wine choices Live jazz and a fun ambiance. Lighting was a bit bright, would preferLower lights and table lamps for reading menu. Overall, fantastic.

on 2/21/25 went to this restaurant with my siblings, as we try new restaurants every month, the door man was very upbeat and positive (even while standing in the cold) inside the hostesses were on point, we were introduced to our waiter Will, We joked around with our waiter for a minute ordered our food, one sister and myself ordered the seafood trio, hers the way it was on the menu, mines minus fries add-on the whipped mashed potato's, sister #2 catfish and fries, brother boneless ribeye steak whipped mashed and the seasonal veggies, food comes out, my mashed potato's hard and cold I sent them back, fried lobster and shrimp, was fried in OLD BURNT grease absolutely nothing was seasoned!!! on my brother's plate we were looking for the veggies they were between the steak and potato's which was 4 string beans and 2 cherry tomato's, sister #2 the fries were good, catfish was not seasoned, we chalked this up to a we will never come here again experience, and also that they add the tip in the bill knowing that the food is HORRIBLE. it's not the fault of the waiter, I blame this on the CHEF, OWENER, KITCHEN MANAGER! This little gem on East Warren near Cadieux did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. Love the art deco/jazz vibe - it's cozy, comfortable, and laid back. Service was excellent, our server Will was engaging, funny, and very helpful. I started with a delicious dirty martini, and a shared appetizer of calamari. The calamari was very good, but feel that the portion size could have been a little bigger. I chose the lobster/seafood pot pie as my entree, and I'm still thinking about how amazing it was. It was literally one of the best things I've ever had, no exaggeration. Flaky crust, served in a hot cast iron skillet, filled with seafood and a Cajun cream sauce with just the right amount of heat - it was comfort food on a whole other level. Dinner is served with fresh bread and butter, and we were able to get a refill on it, which was nice. I was sad that they were out of chocolate cheesecake, but I enjoyed the caramel sundae I opted for instead. They also had a decent band playing at a volume that I could still have a conversation with my dining companion, which I enjoyed and appreciated. When the bill arrives, know that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the total. I was ok with that because that's what I would have tipped anyway with the good service we received. All in all, it was a lovely evening and I'll definitely return.

Over the last few months I've heard several reviews of Savoy. So I was very much looking forward to the chance to visit. My dining companion and I decided to visit for brunch on Saturday. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that brunch was available both on Saturday and Sunday. We made same day reservations but when we arrived it didn't appear that they were needed around noon as there were only three tables with 5-6 people at each currently dining. The restaurant is much larger than it appears on the outside and had many available tables for seating including a bar. We were immediately sat upon arrival. The host was pretty dapper in his fashionable suit and nicely welcomed us to Savoy. As we entered the dining room we were greeted by the smooth R&B tunes being played by a DJ.The restaurant was noticeably very clean and the furnishings were nicely selected. The menu was more limited than I had expected, but did have a nice sampling of items available. When our waiter came to greet us he maintained the welcoming and special demeanor of Savoy. He was very personable and relatable. My dining companion ordered the seafood omelette with grits. I had the salmon patties with grits. We shared the pancake bites. The grits were amazing and cooked just like my grandmother used to make them. My dining companion shared that the seafood omelette was flavorful but didn't seem to have the different and the amount of seafood mentioned on the menu making the omelette over priced. Specifically, they only had three shrimp. The salmon patties were really good...I like them fried a little less firm...but that is a personal preference versus having an impact on the taste. The pancake bites were a little firmer than I'd like as well. But certainly were a unique way to enjoy pancakes in manner that wasn't too heavy. The drinks were great. My dining companion had a very simple Bloody Mary no additional flair was added to it such as garnishes but the base was strong and flavorful. I had the strawberry lemon drop which was flavorful and well balanced.I had a party of two and we recognized when the bill was delivered we were automatically charged for the gratuity. While I'm okay with this because I am a great tipper and I understand that not everyone is...because IYKYK....I just wish that it would have been more strongly indicated before receiving the bill and seeing it reflected there. My server was more than deserving of the tip and would have received it from me even if it wasn't automatically added to the bill. The waiter took a lot of pride in Savoy and voluntarily invited us back and informed us of the upcoming events and nightly happenings of live music.I certainly will return and am glad to see a restaurant of this caliber invest in the Eastside of Detroit.

We went to Savoy for a date night. The band was live and the music was wonderful. We had 8 pm reservations (like most ppl waiting) and we had to wait in a hallway 30 mins to be seated. We were seated at 8:30. Our waiter was great and attentive. We ordered 2 cocktails, crabs cakes, meatloaf and the fisherman's feast which was walleye and fries. When we receive the food, my fish was soggy and so were the fries. The fish was very oily, and the waiter immediately offered to correct the situation by frying a new order. Upon receiving the new fry of fish, it was crunchy, however, very bland and seasonless. The meatloaf was also overdone, and the crabcakes were a bit thick for our liking The restaurant is a great night out, but the food leaves a bit to be desired.

Excellent menu options make for tough decisions. Great "problem" to have. We landed on bacon wrapped shrimp and the seafood pot pie. Both were fabulous! The flavor of the shrimp was outstanding & the pot pie was a perfect cold nite comfort meal. Trish Shandor was the featured performer that night - lovely. Will return!

The ambiance and entertainment was nice. However, the food would rate a 6.5. I went on Valentines Day, the oil for the fried seafood was in desperate need of changing. Would I try the restaurant again? Yes. One more try. Crab cakes were great!
