Sagano Japanese Bistro and Steak House

Great news for the populace of Clarkston and vicinity!Happy to report that sushi bar is back in Sagano!Gone is the last 2-3 yrs of bossy, unfriendly, almost nasty, non welcoming punk manager!In it's place is a wonderful, courteous, smiling lady manager Ms. YUMIKA who will welcome patrons with great attitudes!She has made all the waiter and waitresses moving happily and busily. None of those unfriendly attitude. What a difference!The sushi is as good as before by a new chef and kitchen entree were great!It's fun to go again!Thanks to Mr. Inoue to bring this place back alive again!!We will be back often as before!!

Ordered hibachi chicken. More food and tastier than expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers.

I'm not sure why this place only has 3 stars in ratings. We came on a whim for my birthday because everything around us is closed on Mondays apparently and my husband and I LOVED it! Was the food buttery and "greasy" sure. It was hibachi. The food quality was really good and was very flavorful. We will definitely be back!

There were 4 of us came in for a hibachi lunch. We were sat quickly with other friendly individuals. Our order was taken and we received our drinks, soup and salad in an order appropriate to their service. The cook came to our grill and was a delight to watch. There were several issues that we experienced. One of us, the last to get fried rice got half of what the others received. You do pay an up charge for fried rice. When it came to the grilled vegetables again one of us at the end got barely any while others had a huge amount. Two people in our party ordered their steaks medium rare and when serviced the steak it was close to being well done. We will need to give it more consideration if we will return.

Absolutely disappointed, when we got to the table the server Seth said that they were too busy to allow people to order hibachi to the regular tables, he took our drink and appetizer order dropped off the waters and never came back to take the rest of the order. The girl that dropped off the appetizer noticed we still had our menus and asked if we still needed to place our orders. She took our order all the while Seth never returned to the table. She even brought out our entrees, our original server finally came and asked if we needed anything, we requested spicy mayo. He got the mayo "tossed" the small bowl on the table and said "here you go". He never came back to our table. We were waiting awhile for the bill. The female server noticed we were still sitting waiting and brought us our bill, there were beverages added to the bill that we never got. She corrected this. She asked how the food was and when I disclosed I was disappointed that I couldn't order hibachi she was surprised that I was told that because you can order hibachi to a regular table.

We goto this place often and it's always clean and we get great service. Prices are really good for what you get. $11.99 for steak hibachi cooked right in front of you. Soup, rice and salad are included with delicious noodles and vegetables.Lots of entertainment for $11.99 I think. I mean I can spend that much at fast food restaurants now a days. They have interesting menu items like bbq eel and octopus and both are not bad at all. Not sure I would order again but definitely different.They have a few locations and are never that busy but always has consistent food quality and taste. They give you super yummy sauces. Yum yum sauce and ginger sauce that is delicious.We definitely will be back and will eventually try everything on the menu.

Elena was an INCREDIBLY ATTENTIVE server! She will bring us back again. My husband and I joke that we are cursed because every time we go out to eat, we get terrible service. Tonight we were celebrating his promotion and it was so refreshing to have such incredible service. The food was excellent as well. Our chef was fun and interactive, always smiling. I know that Michigan has a state server wage as I was in the industry for 15+ years, but that woman deserves a raise and paid vacation! Well done, Elena!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Dinner choices are numerous and flavor is good. The service is entertaining albeit loud. Pricing is inline with this type of "dinner and a show" restaurant. All in all worth a try, just be ready for the noise.

We were craving a hibachi steak house experience. We did the research to find the right place for our family and decided on this place. I am really glad we did. We had a lot of fun!The space is very large for a hibachi restaurant, which is a plus. You will not have to wait too long since there is a lot of space for many families. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our specific needs. I started with a Mai Tai. The drink was great and the price was really good for such a large cocktail. We had requested tea, but apparently they only had a few tea pots and they were all being used. But we did eventually get some tea. That is a bit unusual to not have enough pots of tea at a Japanese restaurant. We had the soup. It was lovely, it seemed to have tempura flakes. The salad was also very nice. The dressing had a peanut flavor, a nice break from the traditional all ginger taste. We all ordered the chicken hibachi. This place gives you rice and noodles, which I love. I hate to have to choose. Three of us went for the fried rice, and my other child opted for double noodles. The portions were huge, a good value for the price. The chef was nice, and funny. We did not feel rushed like at other similar restaurants. We liked the decor around the restaurant. They had a nice bar at the front. The mugs of beer looked huge, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Needless to say, we look forward to coming back here soon.
