Rusty Nail

It's a pretty cute bar,, extremely American. The type where you get stared at when you walk in because we're not the types. That kind of bar,, so we cozy up at a corner table.I order myself my favorite drink in the world. It's called the Rodney special. They have all the components and so this place definitely scores well. Specially for a joint where most of the people here are sporting Real Tree and American Flag Tees. Yea, surprising huh?Anyways, I had a pretty good time here. Our server was super attentive. Kept giving me straws every time she got me water. I didn't use none,, I don't want any of that to end up in a turtles nostril. It's not hard to save the planet, but I understand, we're not the usual clientele. I'm sure we all have a choice right? Only reason we were here was because of a friend, other than that I probably wouldn't be caught dead coming here on my own free will.Thank you so much for reading my review. If you like old rock n roll style dive bars then this is the place for you. Great drinks, and great music

Cool place for folks that throw darts. Lots of league nights. Bands occasionally perform on stage and the bartenders and cocktail waitresses are really attentive. The food here is good as well. Good place to hang with friends. They have a good selection of beer and the prices are great.

Don't judge, this place has exactly what you need in a sports bar. Happened upon this spot when in the neighborhood and looking for place to throw darts, and they may have a record number of dart boards. Place serves cheap beers if u want, has two hearted on tap, and played nothing but zep tunes during my visit, good times....

After two weeks off we decided it was time for another burger. having passed a rusty nail I just knew it would be a good time. The rusty really looks like an old strip club, no windows, and sort of set back of the road by itself. We walk in the place is dimly lit tons of dart boards and the big stage area for a band. there was around 10 different draft beers on tap and a 16 oz PBR would only be a dollar fifty. The menu is simple you can get a burger, then you can add mushrooms, bacon, or cheese. These are all for a nominal fee of course. Still the burger is big enough and the price is good enough that I ordered my burger with pepper jack, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion all for $5.50.Burger -4 full a taste!Price -4Service-4 Overall -4The other burger had just lettuce, and tomato. If you like a quick witted sarcastic bartender, then Katie is the girl for you. this place is like the dive of dives that happen to have a good burger , and have cheap suds.

I went there last night to drink some beer and watch a friend's band play. I payed my money at the door and went to the bathroom and then ordered a beer. After I payed for my beer, the bartender informed me that the manager wanted me to remove my "colors" or I had to leave. Pretty gutless to make the bartender do the dirty work, especially after I'd already payed to get into the bar and bought my beer. The guy at the door could have told me as well as the manager himself, as I walked past him to use the bathroom. So I drank my beer and left. On the way out, I saw a piece of paper on the door, which I hadn't seen coming in, stating no "motorcycle apparel ". That sounds very vague as well as discriminatory. First of all, I don't belong to a 1%er club. Second, "motorcycle apparel " can mean just about anything. This bar is not motorcycle friendly and I will never be back, nor will any of my friends, as I've posted this story on my social media page as well.

100% terribleVery very dirty. The owners (2 middle age women) are constantly drunk. The music is far too loud to the point where we had to wait for the to go on break to have a conversation. Terrible bands that are there to relive their heyday, the 70s! Food is awful and all frozen. The chicken fingers are just sliced up chicken breasts fried. No batter just dry tough chicken. Glasses looked like they've never been cleaned. Constant over serving to customers. Servers constantly bad mouth each other to customers. Only saving grace was a very nice new manager. Seems like she might be able to turn it around. But it's still has terrible food and is not inviting to anyone under the age of 45. Oh not to mention that they sell liquor by the bottle. Nice and illegal!!!

The Rusty Nail has hands down some of the best bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of patronizing. I've worked at a few bars around Detroit as a manager and for better or worse can admit to being quite the barfly. In my opinion there are two things that make a great bartender. First it's the ability to work efficiently under pressure and secondly is the ability to provide top notch personalized customer service. I will admit I cannot speak to the bartenders at the Rusty Nails efficiency under pressure. I only ever stop in during happy hour when it's not too busy. On the second criteria however, they are the best I've ever seen. I stop in occasionally after work for a quick beer and shot or two...ok, or three. I am not there frequently, maybe 6-9 times a year for the past decade. The thing that blows my mind is the fact that even with my random infrequency I never have to tell them my order. There are two bartenders I usually see and I admittedly don't even know their names. One is an older lady and the other a bit younger, maybe 35 or so. Every time I walk in, even if it's been months since I've seen them they ask if I'm having the usual. Granted my order isn't complicated they always know exactly what I want. I frequent other bars considerably more often and am served by bartenders I know very well and they still have to ask what I'm drinking. Honestly, the bartenders here are so good they almost got me in trouble with my wife one day when we stopped in together and the bartender just handed me my drinks before I said anything. My wife thought I was lying when I told her I rarely come in for an after work drink because the bartenders knew me like I was a life long friend. I actually had to have the older bartender tell my wife she only sees me once every other month or so. I still don't think my wife is buying it. Three cheers to the best bar staff in metro Detroit.

I haven't been to rusty nail in few years... my girlfriend had her birthday party invited 20+ friends. Party start time 830pm I showed up at 845 establishment isn't too busy yet. after watching the waitress pass me several times I had to stop her and ask if I could place order for a drink and also asked for a menu. well after 20 minutes went by I finally got my drink but she forgot to bring glass of ice with menu I had previously asked for.. ugh!! ok then I finally get menu and yup I'm waiting and waiting for her to come back and ask for my order to which I had to call her and ask if she could take my food order. ok so I ordered food and oh say 45 minutes goes by she is walking by me again several times and my drink is empty and no food and still she doesn't ask me if I want another drink. a friend shows up and sits in front of me and he wants food I tell him good luck. well I tell my friend my issue with the waitress and he says well she will not do that to me. finally waitress stops and asks him what he wants to drink etc. and then only then after my friend explains how I didn't get my food does the waitress apologize and ask me what I ordered and she will now get my food. I told this lousy waitress to forget about my food and cash me out for my one drink and I left no tip. this place has sticky tables too. I will never visit this bar again no thank you!
