Feeling a craving for a cheeseburger, but not wanting a run-of-the-mill sandwich from Burger King or McDonald's, I decided to pay "Roy's Squeeze Inn" a visit and treat myself to a "much better burger" experience. Roy's, is a throw back to a time when small "mom and pop" hamburger stands were commonplace across the American landscape, especially on the old two-lane U.S. Highway System. Sadly, in today's fast paced world, chain restaurants have proliferated across the nation, and the food they serve all tastes the same.Roy's is located on what is today the Business routing of US-12, or locally known as Michigan Avenue in a building that was built as the "Donut Kitchen" in the early 1950s. This was a great place for coffee and homemade donuts, which was the number one hangout for local police officers on Ypsilanti's Historic East Side back in the day. It was always interesting to drive down Michigan Ave, and check out all the police vehicles parked at this building which, amazingly enough back in those days was never robbed by criminals.I decided to order the "Quarter Squeeze Cheese," and it was out of this world amazingly delicious, with the potato wedges. The young lady at the counter was absolutely fantastic and provided great service. The nostalgic vibe from this place is priceless, and is like being transported in a time machine back to an era when nobody was worried about counting calories. As such, they do not accept Apple Pay, credit or debit cards, just CASH ONLY! I really need to try their BBQ Pork sandwich the next time I go there.

Great roadside destination diner dating back to 1953.The half-pound cheese burger had a terrific sear, but was a tad over cooked. The onion rings were also very good. The he best part of the visit was ... Tamera. Great waitress that does her job cheerfully and with few wasted motions. Will I return? Yes!

Argumentative waitstaff told me I had to go becuase I was 5 feet from where they told me I had to be to pick my order up. They wouldn't let the issue go. When, I wouldn't either, I was the one in the wrong.

So I went to grab my take out and the bag just went out. An oily wet mess. A car seat of exploded mess. Just... after cleaning. The most bland onion rings on this planet. Following the most undercooked, worst cut of meat I have ever had. It was 135 at center. Do not eat here for safety. Took 20 minutes in empty restaurant to get the 2nd worst cheeseburger of my life. Good luck. Like toasty on edges and literally raw on inside. There was soo much grease. Are you using snouts and feet?

DEEE-licous!! I've been wanting to eat here ever since I moved to Ypsilanti several years ago and was SO excited to make it today with a friend. I had seen a great interview on the Michigan PBS program "Under the Radar". I had the Quarter Squeeze Burger and fried mushrooms! The perfectly toasted bun, FRESH ground meat and toppings made every bite "yummmm-worthy"! Now I can't wait to come back and bring my grandsons! They're gonna love the nostalgic ambiance too! I was reminded of spot similar to this in a little town I grew up in North Carolina (but it's no longer there)Now I'm happy!!

This is an Ypsi classic! I have been around since I can remember. They've always taken cash only unless that's changed within the last six months. They are friendly and the burgers are always juicy. They are right across the street from Another classic, bills hotdogs!

Tried and true is this place right here. Cash only and probably top 3 burger places to go to in Ypsilanti. If you call in, they do bring it to your car but you can go in and eat/order as well. They have 3 sizes for burgers (big squeeze=1/2 lb, quarter squeeze=1/4 lb, and little squeeze=sliders). A bunch of sides here but I always go seasoned wedges or curly fries. Burgers are great, basic toppings, and yeah to me really good. A place I would definitely try.

Roy's only serve hamburgers & cheeseburgers in 3 different sizes. Small, medium & large are the sizes. The sides we have tried were onion rings & seasoned wedges. Both delicious. If in the area stop & get a burger & some fries you won't be disappointed. We will be eating there again. The service is nice & friendly.

Went here for the first time after hearing great things about it from multiple people. And let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. The staff were nice and the food was delicious!!! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. It's always the small local spots that have some of the best food. Will definitely be coming back soon.
