Roostertail

I recently attended 2 party's here. This is definitely the nicest place to attend an event In Detroit!Yes the river views and sunset were amazing, but the food, the staff were even more incredible! They had a wide variety of delicious hor duerves, food stations with sliced meats, desert stations, full bar & any drink you can create!! They had photo shoots, live music on the main stage & a DJ upstairs!!Apparently the same family has run this premiere event space for 67 years & tons of famous people have been here. I learned that you can smaller events like weddings too. I went for a friend's company party & also atted a girlfriend's party! I wish I was invited to every party here! The food is Soo good!! And it's fun! There's an outside area when you get too hot from dancing, and did I mention all of the desserts!!! It's like Willy wonka!! Tons of cool displays, moving around its really unlike anything I've seen in the US.. it's the closest thing to heaven! If you have a wedding, or to plan a work party, or want to do a cool event for people, this is the spot!

I had my 70th birthday party at the Roostertail October 5th, Nicole Spicuzza and her staff were outstanding. The venue was beautiful, all my guest loved it. I would definitely have another event there.

Edited after gathering more information. We attended the Havana Nights event at this venue. I will point out the good and bad of the venue itself and not the event. Parking - The event had to 'rent' parking, which arranged to charged attendees $15 per car. This notice was blasted to the attendees three times in the week prior to the event. At arrival, the VENUE charged $20 per car and told us " It is what it is, turn around and take it up with the organizer or pay the $20." This set a very poor tone to start the evening and come to find out, was completely the owner's decision to up the price on the attendees. We had arrived early and had exact bills for payment, as requested. The venue's parking attendants were very rude and didn't want to hear any questioning to the higher price. *after gathering more information about what happened, we were clearly ripped off by the venue in a money grab for parking revenue that the event secured separately. Facilities - The venue is beautiful though a bit dated and the air conditioning was cold, which was perfect for such a hot muggy evening. Great views of the river, amazing floating dock that was actually on the river with another DJ and dance floor. The outside patios were nicely shaded and plenty of room for dancing. The cigar patio was perfectly distanced from the dance floors but still offered great view of the river. My suggestion is to have mobile bars available on the main floor with proper setup for beverages - bartenders have to use tables and two liters which does not make for a classy event in any case. All in all a fine venue if the owner wasn't super shady. Personally, I will not consider this venue for any of my future events, however, at least I will know what we are walking into if we visit the Roostertail again.I won't park there, though.

Always a great atmosphere here! Very classy and elegant. Food is always good. Staff is always warm and welcoming. I love coming to events here

This is a review of the Havana Nights fundraiser for the Detroit Belle Isle Boathouse. It seems to be an annual event. The Roostertail is the perfect place for it. Lots of parking, 3 prices depending on how close to the building you are. I got the closet since the boat club gets a cut. Open space for lots of people and even different levels to spread out based on your level of ticket (I got the cheapest). A few bands or DJs, dance lessons, and even a 360 photo booth gave you other things to do besides drink and smoke cigars. Those with the cheap tickets had a few food trucks to buy a taste of the Caribbean. People selling jewelry, bath and body items, and a wonderful artist selling paintings, shoes and clothing. Just a good place to people watch and see how little some had to wear in public. I just choose to be 1950s classic with a twist. Plan to be back next year since it was fun and help a good cause.

What an excellent venue and experience!!!!!I worked with Nicole and secured the Club Room at the Roostertail for my baby shower (MLK weekend 2023).The contract was clear, the setup was a breeze and they worked with us when we thought that we would have to delay the event due to an unforeseen medical emergency! Excellent service!As for the event itself, the decor they provided was absolutely beautiful. I highly suggest the Club Room for an intimate space with gorgeous sunlit views! The food was INCREDIBLE. Everyone raved about the chicken, chef did his thing! Literally no complaints from beginning to end. We were able to share our prepared photo slideshow and our baby shower music playlist over the speakers. The bartender (non alcoholic) was very nice and we had space for a gorgeous candy table. Just an amazing experience we will never forget. Many thanks to the staff at Roostertail and Nicole for an unforgettable experience!

Celebrated my 70th Birthday at the Roostertail. Everything was top-notch...the food, the service, and the Vibe! My event coordinator, Nicole, was there to make sure that everything was beyond my expectations!!!! I couldn't been happier with the outcome. It was magical. If you are planning a party, celebration, or a special event....please consider the Roostertail as your number 1 choice.Arlene

We hosted our "In the Clouds" Prom at the Roostertail this year. From start to finish, Nicole worked with our staff every step of the way. She was extremely responsive and truly helped us make this Prom dream a reality for the Class of 2024. On the day of Prom, every single staff member there went above and beyond. They understood our theme and made sure to decorate the event space accordingly...from the blue tablecloths, to the bubbles, to the haze, to the blue and white trees, and hanging ceiling decor, it truly felt like we were in the clouds. The Roostertail blew us away with various surprises throughout the night that made the Prom an unforgettable one. The food, snacks, and desserts were talked about by all the students well after Prom was over. We can't say enough about everyone at Roostertail for making this Prom the best one yet!

Is there a hotel or vrbo close by?Going in August for wedding from out of state so hoping to find something close by

Rooster tail is such a beautiful venue! As a guest this building is beautiful to see for the first time. Lots of options with the balcony & ballroom. The best part in my opinion though is the incredible views of the lake St Clair. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout the birthday party. The birthday and guests were overly happy with this venue. Looking forward to coming back here again. Thank you to Mike & Ava (the owners). You are the best! Best birthday party ever!
