RJ's CORNED BEEF Deli

Okay guys, I'm seriously in love!!!!!!!!!!!! I am also SO MAD at MYSELF because I have lived down the street from this place and haven't discovered it until now til yesterday!!!!!!!!! (Actual tears) As soon as I walked in I was greeted by RJs brother who introduced himself and made me feel welcomed and explained the menu. He was so kind and even gave me a sample of the sweet and spicy sauerkraut that goes on their most popular sandwich. GUYS.....when I tell you this is the best dang corned beef sandwich I EVER HAD!!!!!!!!! I literally can't wait to go back and get the other sandwhiches and meat selections. They have pastrami, roast beef, I know it all has to be amazing. My cornbeef was so tender and thinly sliced, so fresh, everything about it was absolute perfect. I love that they also sell all bettermaid and faygo products because DETROIT needs to represents for Detroit! They also had some potatoe salad and cheesecake varieties I need to try as well. Excellent establishment and great family owned business that needs to not be slept on!! RUN TO THIS DELI, it's worth any drive u could make. I'm serious.

First time trying RJ's Corner Beef Deli. It was a cute little carryout diner. The staff was friendly and RJ introduced himself when we picked up our food. We ordered a 1/2 corn beef and 1/2 pastrami sandwich on Marble Rye with Swiss and The Watts on an onion roll. The amount of meat was both impressive and delicious. I would highly recommend trying a sandwich from here, we will be returning. The prices were a little high which is the only negative thing I could say, but most prices are currently high so nothing more to say about that.

This is my Second time here. The customer service is always superb. The corn-beef is always on point. I got the sauerkraut this time after tasting it the last time I was here. They have rotisserie chicken salads also. I tried it and it was delicious. This little spot is beginning to grow on me.

RJ's is one of the better delis I've ever been to. The sandwiches here are top notch, and I appreciate RJ's backstory. RJ worked at Lozen's Meat and Deli for many years prior to its closure. He continued his passion by opening RJ's 2 years ago. His brother and father help out at the deli, as well. The chicken, pasta, and potato salads are made in-house and are all great. I'm personally not a fan of sauerkraut, but RJ's is delicious. It's sweeter than your typical sauerkraut, and has turkey bacon in it. The pickles are made in-house, too. The only items RJ's outsources are Michigan made products, Better Made chips and Faygo soda, and cheesecake made by his cousin's company, Cheesecake Joy. All of the sandwiches include freshly sliced meat. The best seller is the "Lozen's Reuben," which is made with the original Lozen recipe. The Watts is another solid sandwich, but the Lozen's is the best Reuben I've had yet. RJ's Italian is also stellar, and one of the best subs I've had locally. If you're a sandwich lover, RJ's is a must try.

Got a corn beef and pastrami sandwich. It was amazing would highly recommend. We will be back again.!

This is "the Watts" cornbeef and pastrami sandwhich. I got it on rye bread toasted. Meat was sliced super thin, which was great. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fan of cornbeef. The owner and his brother I believe, were both very friendly and you could really tell they care about the food they serve and the establishment. Really a small and comfortable little place!!

Excellent tasting corned beef on these sandwiches and in generous portions! The Sweet & Smoky Sauerkraut adds a nice tang to the sandwich along with the Russian dressing. The McCoy Sliders (3 for $14.99) comes with the dressing, sauerkraut and a pickle - a nice lunch box meal. The "Lozen's Reuben" is tasty and filling, almost too big for the rye bread we ordered with it, but it turned out to be just right. Pasta salad was excellent-the meat, cheese and veggies were sizeable enough (not too small) where you could actually taste them with the dressing vs only taste dressing with a little bit of the salad at other deli's. RJ's also offers a good selection of other salads, Michigan made products like chips and snacks from Better Made, Faygo and Vernor drinks, other cold and hot sandwiches, hot dogs, and mini desserts. RJ is very friendly and engages with his customers when he's not slammed with orders. The rest of his staff is not so welcoming.

I got a new corned beef place! Had the Watts sandwich on an onion roll with Swiss. Ok I changed a few things from the original. It was the perfect amount of Russian dressing and cole slaw. Definitely enjoyed the corned beef. I normally don't get pastrami and this was the only knick--it's more deli like with very thin shavings which not a fan... but that's my fault. I just returned from NY's Katz and their pastrami is better than their corned beef. So I'll only eat theirs. Back to RJs, I will order again! Lots of meat and flavor. I had a nail in my tire and got it fixed. Lucky for RJ and me, I had a wonderful pastime!

Great atmosphere with the kindness and most welcoming staff. We loved our food, the corned beef was too die for. Strongly recommend trying both the chicken salad and their special honey mustard recipe.

RJ's Corned Beef is THE BEST. Mile-high sandwiches with tasty quality corned beef!! RJ the owner has the best customer service as well. Don't forget their special sauerkraut--it is to die for!!!
