This has a very extensive menu. I decided on the Briaket Tacos which had a lot of flavor. I added the tator tots and the bbq beans. The beans had a bit of a tang too which made every bite awesome. They brought the food out to me after pacing the order at the counter. It was ready pretty quick. They also have a bar if you want an adult beverage. It has a casual vibe with the basic seating as well as an outdoor area.

I have passed this place a lot. The smoker outside got my attention. Smoked wings were good. Sauces were flavorful. Did not like greens...too much vinegar. Mac and cheese just ok. Burnt ends ok. I had higher expectations because of the built up anticipation. I brought people with me and they were not blown away. Bar available. I had a summer shandy to go with my smoked wings. If it makes it better, everyone was really nice and helpful with recommendations.

We stopped in on July 4th for some carryout. We got a few different menu items and took them home to enjoy. They've recently added a full bar. Which seems to be a nice add-on. The meat here is legit. However, a little pricey. The cornbread is the sweet style and has bits of jalapeño in it but it's not spicy. I hear the beans are house made and are supposed to be pretty good. They have a ton of different sauces to go with the meat. The Mac and cheese was pretty flavorless this trip which is atypical. My daughter was looking forward to having it again. But was disappointed this time. I think they would do even better if they stepped up their game with the side dishes. Most everything else seems like it's out of a container. Overall, it's nice to have a place like this right in town.

They serve wonderful food and great service. The associates are kind and helpful. They use wood fired grills to prepare their meats.

Nice Barbecue joint located in the old Big Boy on Cooley lake road. It was our first time at this restaurant where we had the brisquet, barbecue beef ribs, pulled chicken taco's along with sides of fries, macaroni salad, and potato salad. All the food was well cooked with very good flavor and a very nice smoked flavor associated with the meat. Portion sizes were very generous in my opinion and prices for this meat centric business are quite fair, especially when you consider how post Covid meat prices have gone through the roof. For those of you who are barbecue/smoking afficinado's, they have what I view as a unique hybrid way of cooking their barbecue meats. The meat is initially cooked over an open flamed red oak fire and then finished off later in a shortened cook cycle in their commercial grade smoker. The thing I noticed about this style is that the meat has more of a tug to it versus the super tender meat you get from a long smoke cycle and the fat appears to not have rendered down as much. Flavor is still very good and you still get the nice smoke rings on your meat but the depth of the smoke ring does not go as deep in my opinion. At the end of the day though, flavor is king and their meats definitely have a great flavor profile.Relative to ambiance, the restaurant is a bit rustic in a nice way on the inside with a super friendly staff. It has both inside and outside dining options and a great view of the meat being cooked outside over the open flame in a wagon themed grill which is so cool. I spent five minutes talking the guy Manning the grill asking him about how he cooks his meat and the process they use. probably one of the funner aspects of my meal and a big two thumbs up with how friendly their staff is here.Overall I was very pleased with the meal and the whole dining experience. If you are into Barbecue and/or are a meat centric person you should definately check this place out and take a peak at them cooking over their open flame "wagon" grill as you will not be disappointed.

I stopped by the Red Wood Grill after an appointment in the area. First, it's an unassuming restaurant in what I believe was once a Big Boy restaurant. The first thing that hits you is the smell of the wood burning. Very welcoming, and it reminded me of a campfire. This is one of those places where you order at the counter. I got a carry out, so I don't know if they bring it to you when you dine in or if you go back up and get your food.I ordered the meat lover's combination. It had 2 ribs, brisket, sausage, and pulled pork. It came with cornbread, and I got pork & beans and mac and cheese sides. It was all good. The mac & cheese was an extra $1.50 and it was good but not really worth an extra charge. I liked the pork and beans, though. Really, the only thing I didn't like was the cornbread. Because it has jalapeno in it, it was way too spicy for me (and the owner & cashier & I had just been talking about how I don't like spicy food!), and it had an odd, almost peanut butter-like undertone. I was disappointed about that because I do love cornbread. The owner had just made a lovely pink strawberry cake that he was trying really hard to sell, but, alas, I am not a fan of strawberry cake. He worked very diligently on it; he told me he made 90 little frosting dots on it!It figures that this place opened after I moved out of Waterford, as I certainly would have had it on my frequent dining list. There's so much on the menu that I'd like to try!

Fresh, hot BBQ off of the grill not too far from home. It did seem a bit silly that when I asked if we could substitute anything else for the beef brisket in the Meat Lover's Delight combo (we don't eat beef), they declined. Bummer, but we got a chicken taco, ribs, fries and mac n' cheese to-go instead. The ribs were "fall-off-the-bone" greatness, but unfortunately they forgot the homestyle BBQ sauce I asked for on the side. The ribs ended up going great with Kinder's brand BBQ sauce from home. The mac n' cheese was super creamy with penne noodles. The chicken taco had the perfect relish bite/was the star of the show! Will definitely be back to try more of the menu and BBQ sauces!

The food is pretty good but ordering online is very confusing, there's dinner and by the pound, actually there's no difference because there's nothing included with the "dinner", it's all ala cart. They claim to be a restaurant but it's actually a carry out with tables. You normally get barbeque sauce with your meats, but they charge for any sauce. I can see charging if you ask for extra sauce but you don't get any with your meal. It's too bad, it wouldn't take too much to make it better, very poorly managed, would've gotten only one star if the food wasn't good
