Rancho Tapatio

This might be the finest Mexican cuisine in Michigan, or even the entire Midwest. The dishes were incredibly tasty, and they happily adjusted my order to my liking. The staff and owner were exceptionally welcoming. Our meals arrived just as we requested and were absolutely delightful. The restaurant maintained a spotless environment, and the portion sizes were generous! The prices were quite fair considering the quality and quantity. I wholeheartedly recommend this spot!

Food quality was good. Ambiance was typical Mexican. The service was excellent. I would eat here again.

Came here on opening day. Attentive staff but otherwise unremarkable food and sterile atmosphere under florescent lights. There are two basic types of Mexican restaurants in this area - taquerias with authentic offerings (lengua, menudo, etc.) with no bar but amazing food, and Americanized TexMex places with good margaritas, Mexican beer and fun music. This is neither. The location will face a challenge without street view signage tucked away behind the Walled Lake Wendy's and WOW gas station. If this restaurant is to succeed, it needs to do one of two things:1) Go all out authentic taqueria with more traditional Mexican offerings that will drive people to its obscure location; or2) Get a liquor license, build a bar, and make the place a cozy hidden gem with lively music that's inviting to a regular crowd. Either way, this place needs a warmer atmosphere and better food. La Casita is just down the road and the new Taco Bell is across the street which will draw both authentic and non-authentic Mex-food consumers away from a middle of the road offering that caters to neither.

Really good food! Very friendly staff! Lights are a little bright in there but the food is delicious!

Food was really good. Birria tacos had good flavor. Service was good, very polite employees. Takeout was fresh and packaged well, and came with complimentary chips and salsa.
