Portillo was first known to me while visiting my son in Arizona.My daughter in law and I had a surprise birthday party for him.Just like in Arizona, the Portillo's in Livonia is just as cool.The hot dogs are their specialty offering a variety of styles. I personally like the Chicago dogs.You basically wait in a line to order then scoot down the line to pay and pick up order when completed.There are numerous items to choose from including desserts.The restaurant is clean and well staffed. The decor is awesome too.It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants, gotta see to really appreciate. Enjoy

I love their burgers and chicken sandwiches.But something is amiss with their hot dogs.They just don't taste as good as the sterling heights location or the chicago locations.Always check your bag for any extras that you might add (i.e. grilled onions) as they always seem to forget.Overall, very good food, and so glad that they opened this location closer to my home!

This would be a hell of a place to open a restaurant.I ordered a hotdog @ 11:30 ... 32 minutes ago. I overheard another customer inquire and he was told hotdogs would be out in 20 minutes. The mgr heard my complaint and expedited my order - 36 minutes for a hotdog.It was suggested that I not order on-line to avoid future problems.

The chocolate cake is their famous dessert and it's good. The chocolate milkshake is made with an entire slice of its cake but I was not impressed, and I think it's because I can tell the cake is in it. It is just short of being gritty. Now the salted caramel shake stole the show! Omg! So delicious! Also, I was surprised at how much I like the Italian beef sandwich with hot peppers. Wow! I'll have more! The caramel cake was also A+.

Was not impressed. I went through the drive thru and asked for a roast beef sandwich combo. I ask them can I get the sweet hot peppers on my sandwich. He said we don't have that here. Then I respond yes you do it's on the sandwich on the picture. When I receive my sandwich they gave me half of a green pepper on my sandwich. I went in told the cashier what happened told her you guys are different from Chicago and so is your customer service [poor]. I told her the peppers are red, green and yellow and hot and sweet. She then gave me a tiny cup that was sitting prepared in a bowl. Also they did not ask me if I would like gravy on my sandwich or in a container. WILL NOT BE BACK WAS NOT IMPRESSED.

I've had Portillos twice,First time went through the drive through. For it being a new restaurant and busy, we got through the line very fast. Got two hot beef sandwich's and onion rings. Both were flavorful and fresh.Second time was at a party. They got carry out of the hot dogs.Not sure if it was just because it was carry out, but the hot dog wasn't that great. Might try it again in the restaurant. If you haven't tried it before, def give it a go!

I got the Italian Beef sandwich, with extra beef for $9.99. I really enjoyed it. I asked for the extra juice in a small side cup for dipping. This was tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean, and bright with lots of windows.
