Pit Stop Famous BBQ

I was really hoping that this place would blow me away cause the owner was really cool - but alas it didn't. I got the rib dinner with two sides of Mac &Cheese and a banana pudding for dessert. All of it was mediocre. The ribs were very tender but lacked flavor. However, the sauce picked up the slack a little but not enough to overcome outside of the blandness of the meat. The mac'n cheese was below average and after a few forks full I was done , but I go to BBQ joints for the meat not the sides so no biggie for me. The service was good and the owner is nice. So I hope they figure it out.

When I looked at the menu and saw 1 full lb. of rib tips for $10.95 that included 2 sides, I naturally assumed that when I ordered the 2 meat combo that included only a 1/2 lb. of rib tips and a 1/2 lb. of another meat of your choosing for $16, that this too would also come with 2 sides (especially when ALL of the items above and below this on the menu did). However, after I ordered the combo and 2 sides (that were of GFS quality) I quickly realized that I had been charged an extra $6 for these items. I paid for the items and returned home to eat. Now, as I sit here digesting my mediocre BBQ, I realize I will never return to this establishment. Oh well, at least I can pretend it was a fancy meal because it was so expensive. Oh ya, it comes with 2 pieces of Wonder bread.

This was my first visit. Been trying to get here to support this new business. They will soon have table seating, but right now they offer carry out only. They have a mixture of Pepsi & Coke cans & 2 liters. We ordered wing dings, rib tips, greens & potato salad. Everything was very good. Service is excellent. Very friendly. The rib tips are excellent!!!!! I look forward to trying more from them again soon.

What a delicious dinner. The portions are generous and the food was really good. We order way to much food because we wanted to try everything. Our favorites were the whole chicken wings, the brisket, baked beans,Mac and cheese and peach cobbler. We will definitely be back.

They changed names first of all and I assume ownership. I walked in and the menu was overwhelmingly fried foods. The place did not even smell like barbecue. I left without even ordering.

The food is day old, or days old. It seems like it would have been good the day it was cooked but it wasn't good days later. If I want leftovers I'll eat at home. They also cut the brisket on the grain and not cross the grain. I like to support black owned but this one is a no go for me. The potato salad was good though. The macaroni and cheese was store bought.

We have been there the first time today. The owners are very friendly. We had a beef brisket and a pulled pork sandwich. Both have been great. The meet was very tasteful and tender. Definitely better than many other BBQ's in the Area. And this with less than 5 Minutes waiting time. We looking forward to our next Meal from them :-)

I went here hoping to get some good BBQ for the holiday weekend because I didn't plan on barbequeing myself. I got the ribs, brisket and chicken. The brisket was really good, the chicken wasn't bad, but I was really disappointed in the ribs. They had NO smoke flavor. It's like they were baked, not cooked on a grill. I don't go to a BBQ joint to get baked ribs. Sauce was good, but can't make up for food that isn't grilled. Come on, you're a BBQ joint, you need to actually BBQ your ribs!
